Just a reminder to those seemingly unaware of the fact that you can obtain a Jag XJ13 without exploit ...

It's an interesting philosophy that you find nothing wrong with the facebook giveaway but have an issue with the birthday exploit. To me, they're just a cms away from one and the same. And for the record, please tell me how using the birthday exploit is illegal?

Takes a good 5 minutes to create an account and do this. Or you can do Indy on expert, wind 90,000 in 4 minutes and gain XP.

How does that work?

I did cave and got the MK IV and P4 through this yesterday....20 Mil is a lot of money to spend on these cars considering credit is hard to earn when there are many cars you need to buy and can't win along the way...

I'd love to get the Alfa still and if that facebook thing works I'll use that for the Jag.

The XJ13 you get through this is a Chrome Line car which I believe can't be used in the historic events.
 
What year was the RUF yellowbird manufactured in GT5? :p

It is pretty much the only car I would bother to cheat to get, was by far my favourite car in GT4. I have yet to see it in the used car lot whatsoever...
 
Seems like the Indy race would be better than using this cheat. More money in less time and totally legit. 98k credits in under 4 minutes for this race vs possible ban for exploiting the system. I think I will stick to earning the money though a gift of one of those 10-20 million credit race cars would be sweet.

btw I have saw the Yellowbird at least 3 or 4 times already so just keep looking it will show up as will all of the other RUF cars.

I hope not. It would be really, really disappointing if you could.

This would break the value and trading aspect of the cars and game :(

I've gotten two '10 NASCARs already, and hopefully will get some other good stuff.

all i know is that im so happy with every race i make...with every car i buy....with every tuning i make....i enjoy every second....while others have to cheat.

this game is not about grind....if u have 10 mins in a day...take your best car...and go race it.

You mean I can set-up an account with today as the birth date and get '10 cars? I've heard that you dont get a b'day gift if you're under 18
 
so that's weird. I just didn't get a few cars I sent. And another person is having the same problems. Everything working fine on ur ends?
 
As an update, it appears PD is getting wise about this. After making a new account, that new account can send one gift car ticket just fine. The second one you try to send though stalls and then it says you can't because you aren't connected to the network (even though you are). If you try again, it says it sent ok and the ticket goes away (presumeably sent off to your main account), but log into your main account and you won't have a gift in the mail. So, I'm thinking that because sending these requires they be sent through the network, PD hasn't had to wait to release a patch, they are just limiting allowed ticket gifting to just one ticket it would seem. To do it again you must create another account and repeat. Any tickets sent after the first just dissapear into nothingness when you send them.

So only one car per B-day account? what about sending it to a different account like a buddies? any work around other than creating a new account?
 
hopefully, this nice feature of getting cars on your birthday won't get switched off because of exploiters. Mine is sometime mid next year (can't recall exactly when but GT5 will hopefully remind me just fine ;) ) and I hope this feature still works then.

Maybe they will release a patch that tags the B-day car so that you can't send or sell it? That would keep the exploit out and keep the other players happy.
 
so i guess you can do 2 cars off one account? send one bday car the day of the birthday. restart the game, get a new bday car and send the next day?

Looks like you are right. I was able to gift one car and receive it at the other end. After that any more just disappeared into the bit bucket... At least I got two good races cars before they pulled the plug...
 
I just wish that instead of just making the cars vanish mid-transit they would have made some sort of error window that said "sorry you've sent your limit of cars for the day" or something - would have saved me the 2 hours of trying every possible combination of logging in and out and sending and gifting with several accounts to try to find a work-around, lol

how do you register the under-18? is it using the existing account or make new account?
