every single standard car...

I have had a lot of fun with standard cars, just because they don't suite your very high standard doesn't mean they should be on this list.

For me its the AC Cobra's i would put on this list, but that's because i can't get the best out of them.

Wasted tons of money on a yaris/fitz early on (first car I modded), can barely get around a corner now pretty useless.

Just cuz you spent money on it dont mean its going to be better... It's so easy to ruin the balance of a car, especially FFs if you add tooo much power, you will just get understeer.

Cobra is excellent when you want to win historic racing cars trophy without having one. I wouldn't put it on the list.

I hope this can be a list of cars which are a massive waste of money which people should not buy!

I'll start:

What: Gillet Vertigo Race Car '04
Amount Wasted: ~2,000,000cr
Reason: Despite having 900+ BHP and weighing ~700kg, it is slow and handles like a shopping trolley. A bit faster than a touring car.

It is actually pretty fast. You need to tune it because the strating gear ratio is far to low for high speeds and it needs a bit for handling but properly tuned it is not that bad a car.

Didn't they put a roof on it to make it handle better in a race situation juice?

The only races the Cobra had competition in was the high speed races like Sebring. The regular cobra wasn't very aerodynamic. So they built the Cobra Daytona and then they dominated the high speed races too.

Jay Leno Tank Car:
I tried road racing it. That didn't go so well. I tried drifting it. It's too long. I tried rally racing it. It puts down so much torque it spins the tires in every gear and it's too long. The only successful venture I've had with this car is I parked it perpendicular to the end of the pit lane and blocked multiple people in the pits for a laugh.

Lanci Stratos Rally Car:
It's not so bad in the dirt, but driving it on a road course is pure futility in my opinion.

Nissan R390 GT1 Road Car:
It's not that fast. By the time you get one and dump enormous amounts of cash into it, you realize that the guy in the stock Ferrari 430 Scuderia is still faster than you will ever be.

FGT, it drives nothing like a single seater, and the physics of it belongs to the PS2 era.

what people fail to forget about the FGT is its a prototype fantasy car just like the x1 is. It has tons and tons of downforce, and weighs nothing.

I'll go for the Veyron as well.

Even though I won it so it cost me nothing, I'm baffled as to why it's a standard model. I don't even think I've driven it once in over a month.

Lotus Elise, at least if the Top Gear Challenge is any indication.

I find that especially odd, because while it could get a bit lively, Prologue's Elise wasn't nearly as bad as GT5's.

The Elise RM is probably one of the best cars in the game 👍

Anything on comfort tyres handles like a sack of poo

Agreed.

Racing soft helps, but it's still weird it handles worse than my 600bhp pick-up.

errr no, it is an unlicensed Formula 1 car clone.

And no single seater will go leisurely oversteer underbraking and have an almost elastic feeling around the limit, allowing you to catch it and semi-drift it like an oversized go kart.

Citroen 2CV... some prize car eh? Same with the Subaru 360 (which isn't even the Young SS) and the Honda Z ACT (which, unfortunately, was white).

Sometimes, less is more..

I hardly tuned the R390 road car at all, why, what does it need more than what it already started with???

It's a GT1 road car!!!

Same with Enzo, all I did with that was add 4500 suspension kit, tightened up the dampers a little, and it was perfect, so good in fact I added a little more power.

Maxing out or highly tuning a car doesn't necesarily make it better or best, in fact, it can sometimes make it worse because you can ruin a car's natural balance and grip.

Too much power and too much weight reduction can cause this, sometimes it can be cured through suspension tuning or possibly the LSD, other times you just have to de tune it, or buy another one and start again.

Kubelwagen.. Anyone noticed it doesn't have ANY power until the last 200 revs of every gear but the last one which is loooooooong so it doesn't get any power there either. Even fully tuned. It's a joke basically. I know it's old and it's a all terrain vehicle and what not, but it's still a crappy car and frankly i wonder what it's even doing in a *racing simulator*.....
Oh, did i mention, it's also premium for reasons unknown..

Let's add the 500F to that list.. I tried it on snow at Chamoix East, and it could not even get up a hill in first gear. Full throttle.. Didn't even spin the wheels.. 0 km/h.. Talk about going nowhere slowly?

I was surprised how bad the veyron was, I mean I figured it would be a bit of a wallowy lump but not this much
Compared to what it is on Forza the Veyron here is very good. Much better than I expected but still not verey desirable to me.

I would say stay away from the RUF Yellowbird.
That car is so tail-happy it makes the FGT look tame.
the FGT is tame, you just have to drive it :)

Have not yet tried the Yellow Bird on GT5 but I would think it is a handful. Still could be tamed with proper tuning.

I agree about the tank car though to bad I can't sell it.

1) Ferrari F40 (why is it so slow)
2) Chevelle SS (cannot be driven)
3) chaparral 2D (within 10 second every one will pass you in the classic car race)
4) Machelago LP670 (crap the gallardo much better)

1)
3) chaparral 2D (within 10 second every one will pass you in the classic car race)

I won the classic car race with it, so you must be doing something wrong. I won both events with it. Gear ratio needs to be worked around a little bit and add a little hp, but this is a great car.

Enzo. The 430 Scuderia or the 548 Italia are much faster, and more responsive. I sold mine after grinding for it, and realizing I cound´nt get close to my best times of the previous mentioned Ferraris in the Top Gear Test track. Plus, the sound sample they used does not mach the Enzo´s V12 sound(this is the main reason I sold it). I LOLed when I was able to beat the Enzo with my beloved Viper ACR in the nurburgring, a car with "16th" century technology and 900,000 Cr cheaper!! Also the Murcielago. Although I still have it, and I love it, it´s hard to believe that the much cheaper Gallardo is way faster, and it drives better also. There is alot of crappy cars, but its understandable, since most of them were not concieved to be fast, or to be knowned as the best car in the planet (like the Tank Car), so I have nothing against them, and don´t expect alot from them either, I just have fun with them. Or cars that we expect them to be fast, just because they were considered the best 20 years ago(like the F40) But the "almighty Enzo," It was supposed to be the fastest Ferrari on the planet, but its not even able to beat its younger and cheaper brothers (plus a low-tech-truck-engined-american-sportscar).

Of course it's tail happy. Look what it's based off of. Takes some skill to keep it in check.
HuskyGT

It's not, really. In real life, the Gallardo is much more balanced car and takes better advantage of the AWD system. The Murc's size & weight play against it, so driving one competitively takes practice. The understeer in the game for it is a bit exaggerated though, because if you were to floor the car mid-turn, the 70% rear bias of power would normally be enough to start kicking the tail out. In the game, it doesn't seem to simulate this all that well unless you do the opposite and lift off.

Lotus Carlton, Massive understeer with massive oversteer in one neat almost 2 ton package, what more would one want?
