*Renault 5 turbo rallycar (pretty undrivable for me, battling understeer and oversteer)
*Nomad Diablo (very hard to master over/understeer, not very fast)
*Alfa romeo guilia TZ (magic 2 wheeling over the curbs!!??, slow)
*TVR speed 12 (Very fast but handles robotically like active steering is on full even when all off)

lol, the nomad kicks ass! i didnt even need to work on the suspension that much. what an awesome car, handles like a champ

i agree TVR speed 12 sucks

The nomad diablo is fine until it snaps into wild uncorrectable oversteer in 3rd,
Alfa TZ yes I realize the power figure lol you would think for what it costs that when you fully tune it you'd expect more than 230hp:grumpy:

I usually play with DFGT with tc on 1, abs on 1 usually. Lately been playing with the DS3 same settings, I can be competitive with the ds3 but am better with the wheel tbh, Just comes down to lazyness can I be bothered to set the wheel up lol for grinding a couple of events no not really, for endurances well its not very comfortable so no again haha. Honestly haven't pulled out the wheel since vettel x1 challenge.

The Alfa Romeo TZ2 is not a bad car. It handles great, sticks to the road and even if it is lacking in power it is not a bad car.

It's actually rather good. :)

I have to disagree. The best car in GT2 was the GT-ONE Road Version

The Escudo was the best car on the straights. did anyone else get that thing to FLY above 1000km/h? that thing where hillarious LOL! good old times. wait.. this was in GT3 if i remember it right :)

I've got several cars I cannot control. The Shelby Cobra, Jaguar xj13 etc.
But for some reason I really like these cars!

The only let down for me was the Lotus Elise 111R. For a car that is supposed to be one of the best handling cars in the world, it's rather disappointing.

Initially i thought the Elise RM was crap too, but after some proper suspension tweaks she comes to life. Good car!

I hope this can be a list of cars which are a massive waste of money which people should not buy!

I'll start:

What: Gillet Vertigo Race Car '04
Amount Wasted: ~2,000,000cr
Reason: Despite having 900+ BHP and weighing ~700kg, it is slow and handles like a shopping trolley. A bit faster than a touring car.

indeed! i was trying the gt allstars with it god. so i gave it to my friend that just started today he loves it

This thread needs renaming to, "Red List of Cars that are very capable but I don't have the ability to use them properly".

+1

There's no such thing as a bad car in GT5 - just the wrong tool for the job from time to time.

Seriously, not even the Kübelwagen is a "bad car" - just for the sheer lunacy of racing them on the TGTT for the final challenge.

Be careful when using sarcasm on the internet. It's very easy for people to misinterpret what you say and take offence to it. In my experience, that never ends well for anyone involved.

That's why I use [/SARCASM] tags :)

Toyota 7 Race car.. Weight much less than the Minolta and has almost equal power, but fails to be quicker, even in a straight line.

I disagree. With a few changes to the setup, this car is great. I won both the Gone Like The Wind and Dream Car Championship events with this vehicle. All that is required is: 1. Changing the gearing for maximum top speed, 2. Use racing soft tires, and most importantly 3. Set aerodynamics to 30/60, which will take care of nearly every handling problem with this car.

Any GT-R...yes I know not a popular opinon lol. I don't find a GTR's understeer on entry, snap oversteer at apex, understeer on exit very sexy. Actually, I hate it.

Give me a RWD with slight oversteer the whole corner and I'm happy.

There is a tune on this forum that I used and this car is by far my favorite care to drive in this game. I only have it sitting at 768 bhp and with some racing soft tires I'm running 59 second lap times at high speed ring. No understeer or oversteer a beautiful car. When first bought definitely agree a two ton boulder on wheels.

True True!! and all you had to do was to tune it right and would Rape those corners! :sly:

Cant wait to Get it again on GT5! I know it isnt that good anymore.. but a Classic is a Classic...

lol i RAPED those corners by smashing into them at the high speed ring the test track and the car still went with the nose up smelling the air

Must admit i'm not really getting this thread at all, nearly all of the cars people are mentioning handle just as I would expect them to. I do kinda wonder if people find some cars with particularly good handling then decide that anything not meeting that standard is bad.

Or, in the case of cars like the Veyron, expect the car to stick to the road like glue on the bends seemingly not realising that the thing is going about 80mph faster than most other cars on the straights. You might wanna brake a little earlier.

Oh well, guess i'm lucky, i've pretty much enjoyed driving all the cars and there is usually a race that can properly test you in each car, and make you learn its idiosyncracies to get the very best out of it.

Maybe the Chaparral 2j doesn't deserve to be black-listed considering I did use it to win some races but I can't help feeling this is the car I most hated driving. It isn't slow, just not fast in the right part of the turn (could be my driving style). It requires one hell of a work out to win with, no other car has made me work that hard for a win. Finally when it's all over you realize during the replay that Kaz was able to make you drive around in a fridge-compressor thing while everyone else drove around cars they would sell their mothers for.:ouch:

Despite my hate for the 2j I am glad it's in the game, it makes me appreciate the other cars that much more!👍

Ford Taurus SHO: considering it's supposed to be a 'performance sedan' (am I mis-translating that as muscle car?) it fails on several counts.

Firstly, it's front wheel drive. Secondly, it's heavier than the moon. Third, it's got a measly 235hp. Fourthly, it's only got four gears (or at least never gets to fifth). These all combine to make a ridiculously slow car that can't go round corners.

To cap it all off, it's pug-ugly too.

^^ agreed. the SHO is completely worthless. same for ALL pontiacs that have been included in gt4/5 (all exactly the same, mind you). do i really need the solstice concept car? really? REALLY?!?

Any Super GT SC430. Slow, and virtually silent, with the most irritating handling ever. One time it's a slot car, another it's an oversteering monster.

This seems to be true here more than any other game or automotive forum I've participated in. I don't know if it's just up to cultural differences but there seems to be a general lack of ability in distinguishing sarcasm from many of the members. Whether that's a good or a bad thing I dunno. But many posts I read just seem way too uptight and serious to me...
