Nice to see another fan, Blink 182 are my favourite band by far!.
I prefer their earlier work (Buddha, Dude Ranch, Chesire Cat, Enema of the State etc.) but drummerwise I prefer Travis to Scott, he is just awesome:tup:.

Im not sure what you mean about their 'top songs' I assume you are on about favourites:confused:, I can't have one favourite as I like pretty much all of their songs!👍

The 'fun' songs they made as well are awesome, always watching them on Youtube! and the film series' they did was great too!👍

I could go on for hours about them, but I have things to do so...

It was a shame to see them go, +44 are pretty good and Angels and Airwaves Just suck:tdown:, Thanks Tom:rolleyes:

i agree on angels and airwaves. i meant their best songs for anyone else

Blink 182 is like all the other massed produced "punk" rock now days. It isn't very good, the instrument playing isn't anything to write home about, and the lyrics are rather uninspiring. What ever happened to good punk music?

Why so hostile? I just Blink 182 is rubbish "punk" music. Real punk comes from the 70's with bands like the Ramones, the Clash, and the Sex Pistols. Blink 182 tries to be punk but they just end up being generic pop music...something I dislike.

I still don't like them and I think they ruin the genre.

Still it's your opinion, some people who were born in that era would have not experienced the same "punk" as you did.

Personally, I like a few songs they do like All The Small Things, but I still prefer Foo Fighters.

I never said you had to think it was crap, you are entitled to like or dislike any music as far as I'm concerned. And I grew up in a era with Blink 182, I think I was in middle school when they came out.

Just never got into them. Ive seen them live too (a couple times) and it came off as a lot of whining to me. Not trying to bag on your fav band. Just couldnt get into them.

I first started to listen to Blink 182 when their 1999 album Enema of the State came out and began to be overplayed on the radio. I liked it a great deal, but then again it has to be said that my personal musical taste was still maturing and growing. I liked it a great deal then, but I've happily grown out of that stage and onto better things...

I recently went to an Angels and Airwaves concert, and it was nothing more or less than I expected. Most of the crowd was pre-teen girls standing next to their boyfriends that really didn't look like they wanted to be there, and the music was quite similar to everything Tom (Blink 182's lead singer) has done in the past. I would describe it as good temporary background music until you find the CD you're flipping through your CD case to listen to. The sound isn't necessarily distasteful, but too much of the same sound gets old quickly.

Seemily this thread has been 'updated' I just thought id add a few things to what I first said, I know jakesmith has been banned, but he should not have spoken to Joey like that, he is right, Blink 182 were/are not a Punk band, Punk Rock yeah, maybe some of their very old work could be classed as punk though, Mark did state at one point that they did come from a Punk backround.

Blink 182 has gotten me into many other bands and genres, thanks to the amazing Travis Barker (Drummer) I will be taking up drumming soon, my musical knowledge has also been better than ever before.

Many people don't like or can't get into their music, thats fine with me:tup:

I have 6 of their albums now and intend to get the rest, I will eventually grow out of some of Blink's work, but for know ill enjoy the humor and awesomeness that they created. (Of course in my opinion..)

:)

Well I just want to state my opinion about Blink 182 to make myself feel better about them. I started to know about them when I heard "All The Small Things" on MTV when I was younger, and at that time, I really didn't appreciate the song as much. Just like listening to the tunes and humming and stuff. I never had in my mind about buying their CD or anything. It was all normal stuff back then (and till now, still is just the same)

However, their last album (untitled) really was very different from their other work. I was really amazed that they come up with "I Miss You" and I totally fell in love with that song. Ever since I listened to that song, I really (for once) actually wanted to buy a CD from Blink 182. (albeit, a pirated copy) But then at that time, I had access to the computer and learn more about B182, and well, the rest is history. Almost all the songs in untitled was simply fantastic to listen to, and the last song "I'm Lost Without You" was very exceptional (with Travis' drum solo at the end 👍)

I do have all their albums on my iPod, and still untitled was still better than their other albums. No doubt about it. :) But its a shame really that they break up. The chemistry between the band is there, but I just don't see Tom have the same musical interest as Mark and Travis. Tom ended up forming Angels and Airwaves, and to be honest, it wasn't all that great. Sure you could still recognize a part of B182 with Tom's vocal, but everything else about it is different. But still, its not something that everybody enjoys.....

As for Mark and Travis, they ended up forming +44, which to me, still retains most of the energy that was B182. The song style was the same but with mostly Mark doing the vocals. +44 is really what fans of B182 should listen to, not AvA. But yeah, sad to see them like this. Wish they would have a B182 reunion or something, love to hear them play those greatest hits of them again or even make a new album together, but its never likely to happen...... :indiff:
