Blinking Hud - 1.06 related?

Hi everyone,

I've noticed a problem with the HUD last night when trying to get gold on the FXX seasonal event.
The Hud is Blinking. It does it only from time to time, probably 2 or 3 times at maximum per lap, and it lasts just an istant.

I've been driving with the lowest view (the one that doesn't let you see anything of the car) and all the hud was blinking from time to time, pretty distracting.

Also, other parts of the scenery bliked as well, like the road just near the camera, but this is much rarer.

I don't know if it is related to the 1.06 patch, but is anyone else experiencing this?

Just for the record, my PS3 is a 4 months-old super slim, so i don't think it's the console...

I was driving around last night and it was happening to me too, but it was only the track flickering and not the HUD. Like a small rectangular area of the track flashed white and went back to normal in less than a second. I was also using the bumper camera like you were. And although I have the same model console as you and its about the same age, I doubt its console related

I've been having similar problems as well. Possibly due to the 3D features affecting the rendering engine, even when off.

Well at least it's not my PS3, disc or TV.
The ninja update seemed to slightly fix it and now it only blinks when you change the view to the bumper camera.

Spotted it once when the game was paused, also in "bumper" view. I don't actually pay much attention to the HUD, though.

I had this today - Running Ascari in a Ruf 3400S (Boxter) and it happened near the pit lane entry after Laguna Corner. An instant white rectangle (Was Mia Wallace in the car implying I was a Square ?) - Odd but ignorable.

In Classic "Dials and road" only view.

Same problem. Its flickering more often after the update. Try lowering the resolution.

Also happened to me at BMW Tii and Subaru Seasonals. And the update also disaligned the screen. I thought my T.V. is broken because there's a white vertical line at the right part of the screen when you buy custom parts and when you enter oil change. I fix that by manually aligning my screen in my T.V. options.

Yes I Confirm this.
The screen has a vertical white line that appears from time to time. It is not my TV because i am VERY careful with my tv setup.
I had to turn on the overscan on my TV (to zoom the image just a little and let it go slightly over the borders of the screen) to make that line disappear. I think it maybe could be some debugging placeholder they forgot to remove.

Also happened to me today at Tsukuba with the 91' Mazda éfini RX-7 Type R in bumper view.

Like @GT_Racer22 said, it was more like it was something under/behind the HUD (like it was just barely in front of you) which flashed for a millisecond. Initially I briefly thought it was a ghost replay which appeared very close to the car, but ghost was set to off - and it would just continue to rarely flicker very shortly.

I remember it being in the first corner only, but it could have been several times a lap..

It's like graphic artifacts/errors flashing at your screen when your overclock is unstable.

I don't have this issue, but strangely, my brother played GT6 on his account on my PS3 for the first time yesterday, and the HUD blinked fairly consistently. Back on my account today, and it's fine.

I saw this thread last week and payed no attention to it thinking it was just a isolated issue, but it's not. I noticed this happening the last time I played and it's really really annoying. It's baffling how PD can continue to make this game worse than it already is 👎

That's probably corruption in your texture cache. Try rebuilding it. There should be a game option somewhere to delete the cache, and playing the game will naturally fill it up again (things will load more slowly than you're used to by now, for a while, though).

If I was the only one with the problem, I'd consider doing that, but I've heard of many others having the same problem. I think it's a random texture glitch in the game itself, not in the data.

I'm going by similar complaints dating back to GT5. It's up to you what you do with that information. It's a quick operation that is perfectly reversible (over time), and does not damage your save progress etc.

I've never seen texture glitches, except the streaming lag (missing textures) on Nordschleife in GT5, before the streaming speed was improved. What you describe sounds like classic texture corruption / reading textures from the wrong memory locations; that's drawn from years of PC gaming experience, too.

It's very easy to test it.

I have a similar issue, probably since the 3D update 1.06.
Something is flashing in the middle of the screen for a very short time. It happens a few times per lap and it's difficult to identify what it really is.
