Car handles quite nicely. 👍 Some minor pointers: top speed is too low for online racing, there is no room for drafting and rubber-band-effect with your current setup. I would also put front brake sensitivity back one notch: this may sound strange, but this will allow for even later braking as it reduces understeer while braking and cornering at the same time, despite the lower sensitivity. :) Especially handy when coming out of the long straight into the first corner. I was also surprised by the soft spring settings combined with the low ride height, but I didn't notice any dragging or bottoming out, so obviously it works. 👍

Drafting.. thats a good one.. :) I wasnt thinking about that at all... and I'll try the brakes as well... Thanks for the feed back!

Yup, I almost reached the rev limiter in free run, you want some extra room there for rubberbanding and drafting, especially on Daytona because of the long straights, where you can build up lots of speed when drafting or rubberbanding (if you're behind).

Yeah, when I was setting it up I wasnt taking into account drafting/rubberbanding. I was only focused on handling and blistering acceleration... which I achieved at the cost of the top speed of course... So Ive been fiddling around some more, when I perfect the gearing I'll post it up again.... I gotta find that balance, where you still accelerate quickly and also have a good top end..

Well everybody.... I've been tuning somemore and I was able to get a way higher top end with enough room for drafting and rubberbanding in 6th... It was also suffering from a bit of understeer at speed in turn 4... I think I fixed that as well... but you have to take it wide and turn in early... then you'll blast through no problem... make sure to brake on time for the tight turn 5.. .:P ehhehehe Anyway I will be posting the new setup tonight... so stay tuned!

Old Setup!!! Pre-Update Scroll down!

Ok it is time.... The new improved Daytona Road setup.... taking into account the tips that NLxArosa gave me...

Constructive criticism is welcome... that only helps me become better and understand everything more... So gimme some feedback since NLxArosa was the only one to give me feedback lasttime... Id appreciate it from the rest... thanks to him I was able to improve this setup! Thanks!

Enjoy!! :D

Additional info.. (since I was reading a thread about this)

I use a normal controller and my fastest lap in free run was 145.559.... that was pushing it hard as well.... in a race it runs stable even when bumped... you pretty much stay on the road... :D and it wont bite you in the bum bum if you make a mistake.. :)

A very stable, fun tune for daytona road course. Maybe one of the faster cars at this track with the givin tune.

Ok peoples... Ive been perfecting this tune more and more... After riding it for a while I noticed the springs might need to be a bit stiffer to stop the forward diving motion while braking (they were set so soft before because of the bumpy road surface, figured at that time it was better :P). This has been fixed now... It turns a bit tighter as well now and feels even more stable in the turns.... Power oversteer has been practically eliminated which means when you come out of turn 1 in second you have no tire spin.. just grip and you accelerate away like crazy... also adjusted toe and camber a bit more as well... gives it more response and stability... .Settings will be posted later on tonight.. still a couple of things I wanna figure out and hopefully I can get a totally perfected tune out before friday when the update comes out... :)

Sorry everybody... :) I decided to get a wheel... so Im practicing and I think it might need a retune... stay tuned for a new tune with a wheel if its still relevant.... otherwise I'll do it for the next events... Thats it for now!

Just saw this thread today, and I wish I'd seen it sooner! I've been running the Mines for the past two weeks at Daytona Road with a DS3. Just for kicks and comparison, here's my setup:
Power: 655 hp +9
Weight: 1139 kg 85%

Aero: 15 35
Ride height: -15 -15
Springs: 4 3
Dampers: 5 5
Toe: 0 0
Camber: 1 1.5
Brake balance: 5 7

MTA: 40
TC: Off
ABS: 1

1st: 3.827
2nd: 2.090
3rd: 1.632
4th: 1.301
5th: 1.054
6th: 0.875
Final: 3.343

I'd be interested to know what you stiffened the springs to, because other than that, it looks about the same as yours, except I found a bit of a rear brake bias to be helpful to get the car turned under braking into turn 1.

Yup... you can adjust my tune to your liking however you want :) As for the springs... off the top of my head I THINK I changed it to:

Springs: 4 4
damper: 7 5

But I'll check tonight after I get home from work.... I also lowered the ride height to -11 -11

You know what really rubs me the wrong way, in all GTs they put damper and spring/rate etc and then camber and toe but never any gauges to show the tire temperatures, that would be a HUGE help in understanding where the car needs more or less of something.

For example I all my setups I use way more camber than anyone on this site it seems, for my F430 set i got 2.8-3.0 in front and up to 2.4 rear. I can set up a race car in sims like GTR no problem but here i need more info after my trial runs. Its frustrating.

Thats true.... have you checked the tuning after the update yet? Its like a puzzle now... very difficult... and the camber and toe... just like NLxAROSA said in his thread its all up to the driver... his preference... and I agree... just do what works best I guess... everybody drives different :)

The update changed the amount of PP for R-tyres. This means that you must add weight or cut power to get to the same amount of PP as before. As a result of that, you may need to adjust a lot of other settings as well.

Yeah the Amounts are pretty drastic.... Im busy trying to find some good settings for Fuji... not that easy though.. LOL :)

OLD SETUP!!

Setup for HighSpeed Ring 800 PP race- standard physics

Ok, for anyone interested in High Speed ring 800pp settings should try this... These are settings I used for Suzuka from one of the tuners... dont remember which one, but these work REALLy well on Highspeed ring. I only changed the gearing and upped the power a bit... Give it a try and see what you think... :)

You may want to change the title of the topic to reflect that it's now for Fuji instead of Daytona Road. :)

Thats a REALLY good one, but I was searching and searching and I just cant figure out how to do it.... LOL!!

*Edit: Nevermind... Thought a little bit harder and figured it out... LOL :P

Old Setup!!!

Setup for Fuji 750PP race

I am not that great with the tuning now after the update, but I try ... :) This is experimental... work in progress, try if out and give some feedback to improve this one... I know it can go faster! :P

-edit... After these changes it runs pretty stable.... think its gonna be good online too

Made some changes... check the bold print!

Pretty nice set up. I'm running to the High 1'37's to low 1'38's.

Ok then, Now I know I gotta let other people try out the tunes... I was only hitting 1.40s maybe high 1.39s on a good run... so thats just my driving ability then LOL :) Thanks for the feedback and have fun with it! 👍

Anyone going to give some feedback?!?! I want to improve this tune, but if you dont give any feedback then I cant improve it at all... anyway thanks to the people who DID give some feedback! 👍👍

Very good tune. I can get 1'40s pretty consistently with it. Handles very nicely, and is pretty fast.

This car is definitely growing on me.

Nice to hear you like it... and thanks for the feedback... I've been running about 1.40s with it as well... but I must say in the other races, like Daytona Road and Suzuka it was more competitive then here... but I'm also not good at the Fuji track.. just cant get it right with those late apexes.. :ouch:

I learned that online, if you make it so that it's underpowered it's soooooooooo much easier to drive. I'm at 737-741pp. Gives the 750's a run for their money.

Use your same set up but lower the power to like, -10 or -14. and you'll be out runnning the faster Amuse S2000 still. It's a great car. Just need to not run with the crowd when it comes to PP's.

If you're lowering your power, why not lower your weight to? lowering your PP overall gives a good grid spot though.
