Acura NSX '04
Acura NSX Coupe '97
Honda NSX '90
Chevrolet Corvette Z06 (C5) '00
Honda INTEGRA TYPE R (DC2) '95
Honda INTEGRA TYPE R (DC2) '98
Honda INTEGRA TYPE R (DC5) '03

All of those are distinct from the ones you left in.

There's something different between the 1997 and 1999 Honda NSX, too, but I can't off the top of my head remember what it is (so I didn't list it with the above).

On paper (in the game) they're similar but according to the GT6 'car info' the engine underwent emissions regulations. It also says the ABS was changed and acceleration response improved for the '99 model. Whether these changes are noticable in GT6 are debateable. I'd want to perform a scrutineering before confirming there's much difference between all of the '97 and '99 models (albeit the standard models, Type S and Type S Zeroes).

RUF CTR3 . . . yes please. The others in the game are huge fun and more than photogenic.

I did some testing of the '97 and '99 NSX models and there seems to be a subtle difference between the two cars. Maybe it's a placebo effect after reading the GT descriptions, but the '99 does appear to have slightly more power under acceleration and more direct braking abilities than the '97. I did mulitpile runs over several hundred miles with both cars completely stock at 443 PP and no oil changes and both also had roughly the same mileage (each under 100).

I will say (and please feel free to disagree) that there is a difference between the two model years.

My issue with all the Miatas is simple. ALL these Miatas (And Hondas, and others....) and no LHD ones. I have no issue with multiple models but think that if they're adding so many variants they should add LHD and RHD versions as it goes both ways. There are some cars that are only LHD for instance that I'd love to see in RHD. Some choices too are just weird like the RHD Volvo wagon. It'd be nice too to get a LHD GTR other than the race versions. I like having different variants of a car myself, as I like to see if an older smaller engined version is nimbler than the later ones, etc.

Just take the best version of the duplicates and then take out the rest.As cool as it might be to be able to find your exact model and year car no ones going to rage because it's not there, they'll just be happy that that certain model is in the game.

Sorry Mods if this has been posted, you may remove if it was.

So I was bored today and played with Excel a little bit and found out just how many dupes there are on many of the cars (I understand to a point some of the dupes for *Major differences):

NSX, NSX-R: 34
Corvette's: 18
Integra's: 9
S2000: 27... how much really changed in it's short life?
Civic: 16, plus 2 CRX and CRZ's each
RX-7: 31
Euno, Miata, MX-5, Roadster's: 46... serioulsy why?
RX-8: 7
3000GT (all variant): 12
Mitsu FTO's: 8
Mitsu GTO's: 12
Lancer's: 27
GT-R (all variants, R32,33,34,35): 64
Fairlady's (only): 15
Silvia's: 18
Impreza's: (all variants): 29
Legacy's: 9
Prius: 4... why more than 0?
Supra's: 33
NASCAR's (all brands): 33

Hope you enjoyed my bored hour of free time. Any questions or comments, let me know, or if there is a request, I can look up.

👍👍👍👍👍

That small list of cars makes up more than a third of the total number of cars in the game. We only need about 7-9 GTRs, Imprezas, Evos or Corvettes, only about 3-5 S2000s, NSXs, 3000GTs, RX-7s, Civics, Supras, MX5s and so on. It's quite bizarre that all these pointless, unchanged versions of these cars were considered to be necessary and interesting enough for the game.

Another thing that bugs me is the fact that they need to have Vauxhall Vectras AND Opel Vectras, and Renault Clios AND Lutecias, Toyota Soarers AND Lexus SCs. WHO, who wants to drive, say, a Vectra, would be disappointed if it only came with a Vauxhall badge? :banghead:

If I remember right there are 6 not-that-different versions of car in the 33 NSX's.
older Acura's
newer Acura's
older Honda non-zero/R
older type zero/R
newer non type zero/R
newer type zero/R

Could be summed in 6 cars. (it's possible the type zero and R are enough different to make this 8 "different" cars.

Of course there's probably someone pretentious around the corner waiting to holler that the 1hp between a '9x and '9x model year "makes them different!" but who gives a 🤬 what that guy thinks?

Although the S-Zero has stiffer suspension and 6-speed gearbox it is still not comparable with the '92 Type-R.

NSX:

Acura NSX '91
Acura NSX '04
Acura NSX CONCEPT '13
Acura NSX Coupe '97
Honda NSX '90
Honda NSX '93
Honda NSX '95
Honda NSX '97

Honda NSX Type S '99
Honda NSX Type S '01
Honda NSX Type S Zero '97
Honda NSX Type S Zero '99
Honda NSX-R Concept '01
Honda NSX-R Prototype LM Road Car

For me there is no reason to cut any of them :D
if so I would do that a bit different, swapping some of them if I could.

Honda NSX '90 (First NSX, should be Premium)
Acura NSX '91 (no reason to be there if the '90 were Premium)
Honda NSX Type R '92
Honda NSX '93 ('90 copy)
Honda NSX '95 ('95 NSX-T, should be Premium and with removed targa top)
Honda NSX '97
Honda NSX Type S '97
Honda NSX Type S Zero '97
Acura NSX Coupe '97
(heavier and a bit more powerful version for US market, it is LHD and has no fog lights)
Honda NSX '99
Honda NSX Type S '99
(Zanardi's Special Edition instead?)
Honda NSX Type S Zero '99
Honda NSX-R Concept '01
Honda NSX '01
Honda NSX Type S '01
Honda NSX Type R '02
Acura NSX '04 (heavier and a bit more powerful version for US market and is LHD)
Honda NSX-R Prototype LM Road Car (does not exist, why not Mugen RR or NSX-GT instead?)
Acura NSX CONCEPT '13
Honda NSX CONCEPT '13 ('14 NSX-GT should go here!)

Interesting, I'd keep the Acura's because they're legitimately different, probably more so than any of the other NSX's.

I suppose having millions of duplicates wouldn't bother me so much if it weren't a pool of strictly Japanese "favorite" cars. Almost as though they seriously believed throwing every single year of every Japanese car is or could in any way compare to adding different cars. (I don't give a 🤬 about how long what takes, they don't make 10,000 variants of anything not Japanese)

:)

I'm quite certain at some point a compromise was made between the time it takes to model a car and document "it's place in history", the availability of information available to a Japan-based video game production team (I know, less of a bother in the internet age), and national pride in a state-sponsored auto industry. But then you have the real-world problems of trademarks and exclusivity and once an automaker has not just allowed a competing game maker to use something, but actually sold those rights exclusively, many cars we would LOVE to see in this game just won't happen. Then there's the question of how the production team intends to use the vehicle in question, which an automaker has every right to consider. I would think the GT nameplate has the lead there as it won't allow serious or realistic damage, and there's no free-form for modifications. But Lord Almighty would I love to see a '55 Chevy or a 64 Galaxie 500 or a '70 GTO or 442. (It's ok....I'm conscious again now) Those cars, to me, far better represent what I picture when I see the words "Gran Turismo" than any amount of Vitzes or Peugeots can do.

It's pretty simple. Japanese based game = lots of Japanese cars. Hopefully the bloating will all go away by doing away with most of the standards for GT7 and premiumize a few worthy classics from previous games. Time to cut the fat and move forward.

It's not that I haven't heard all of the arguements for it before, I just disagree.

Here's to hoping for all GT5P and higher quality for GT7.

Oh please don't take my post as excusing PD for this collection of awfulness. I've cussed out every Vitz I've ever had to drive in this game. The thought "where on Earth do they race THIS other than ice-bound or communist countries???" has flown through my mind many times. To love and still play GT, you just have to accept the fluff with the Stuff.
