I was wondering if that, when you tune a muscle car, if it would be possible to have blowers installed on them? If so, that would be killer sweet.. :sly: :dopey:

There will be supercharchers but probably only centrifugal ones, or small screw type ones. Just had a thought, screw type blower!!!!!!!! I think your options for uhhm personal pleasure will be limited.

If you clicked on any of about 6 or 7 threads here, you would have read that superchargers are now included in the game.

My mistake, I hadn't known they were called superchargers. I'd been growing up watching Horsepower TV and they had called them blowers the whole time...

Edit: you got your post off before me. THat's fine.

Huge above hood superchargers would probably not be possible seeing as body mods are looking less and less likely.

That would be tight if you could have one of those big 8-71 blowers on top of the '70 Chevelle's engine and you could see it peek in the hood.

what do yyou mean.....none of the factory stock cars can be upgraded to race cars with graphics and front & rear downforce?....that was my favorite part...sigh...i hope you are just wrong.......

Downforce and graphics arent considered bodt mods. Body mods would be something like a replacement hood or body kit.

What I mean is that nothing has been mentioned by anyone at PD about Body mods, no pics have shown them, and no menus have listed them. Whether they will be in or not is to be foreseen. From what I've read changing paint layout will be in in a more limited sense, changing names, numbers and of course colors. I really hope they are in but no one knows for sure.

It's only speculation, but since so many muscle cars are supercharged (not turbo), it is highly possible. You may find that you can supercharge them but not turbo/intercool them (just like you can't turbo/intercool most of the muscle cars in GT2 & 3).

That would be mad! A Shelby GT500 with a nice big blower (legitimate name for supercharger). Graphics would be nice, but just having it would be enough!
Woo Hoo.

it seems like i rember seeing it confirmed that superchargers are in the game. Roots type ie twin screw type superchargers I hope because of all the old muscle cars. in the real world you cant really put turbo's or centrifical superchargers on carburated cars. the packaging just doesn't work.

(edit) if i was going to use a supercharger it would be a roots type. they are only capable of low boost because the efficiency dosent go up with rpm, but they produce beautiful boost curves. peak boost from idle to redline. (with the throtle open of course) its almost like an NA engine but with the output up on stilts. cetrifical superchargers are useless because the eficiency does go up with rpm like a turbo, which means high boost potential like a turbo. But since its driven by the engine... well you can imagine. fo high boost applications turbo's are the way to go. since its driven by exhaust gases, as long at the throtle is wide open the turbo can be spinning fast and producing big boost even if the engine isn't.

I remember seeing a centrifugal supercharger on an eloanor gt500. You replace the carb with some other thing, the reverse of a carb. It runs off vacuum. I'll try and look it up.

Thankyou. That wasn't what I was thinking of, it is much better. They packaged that engine so nicely. Clean but not too shiney.

Another version of a centrifical supercharger that uses a carburator has a box that goes around a standard carb, to make it work in reverse, like stated above, so it would look alot differne thaving a big metal box sitting on top of teh intake manifold

Well their you go. twin supercharged huh. sounds kind of cool. and i absolutly love the GT500 besides. I can only imagine what kind of power that makes with a pair of centrifical superchargers bolted to a 427. and with an engine like that geting peaky is kind of hard to do. I cant make up my mind! :trouble: or

Was that a 350Z at one point in it's life?

It looks like it's a silver batmobile or something!!!!

As per the article, the engine sans blower made about 580HP. The Paxtons are only putting out 5 pounds of boost for 700+ HP on dyno.

Peaky?... Do you need peaky with that? I can only imagine what the torque would be!

That Z...    Where can I get one???

Peaky as in a bad thing. as in the disadvantage of centrifugal's that I stated. but getting peaky with a two valve 427 is hard to do. as in its all good!

700 hp at the wheels  over 100 hp per liter! that kind of volumetric eficency is frigen spectacular on an engine like that forced induced or not!

I LOVE THE 427 the first american engine to even think about geting more from less.
