Blue Moon Bay 15min Endurance

So what am I missing? There is no way I can catch the top 4 group.
I've tried, several different cars, racing softs, pitting earlier or later than opponents, keeping together with a group trying to catch the front... my laps are mostly 43s/low 44s at worst.
Any suggestions for getting gold?

Just pit on lap 8/9, fuel up and repeat on lap 18, most of the other cars run out of fuel anyways!
Just did this race yesterday and broke up a few times cause i thought i cant do it, but eventually i realised the ai is dumb as **** ^^
