The PS3 is suppose to have superior hardware compared to the Xbox2360 but I don't see any difference between the two Blur versions.

Looks good enough to me on PS3. :) Anybody care to play this online? Feel free to add me (GTP account) if you want to play online.

In terms of raw processing power that's probably true.
However the GPU of the Xbox360 is more advanced. The Cell can compensate this in many cases and do some other nice things. But it's not easy to do. You can get the power out of the 360 more easily.

I've read that custom soundtracks are possible but only offline.

Thanks for your answer.

Have gotten the game by now. Its a lot of fun and pretty hard.
Haven't tried the game online yet. Since some people on game forums/sites are complaining that the ps3 version keeps locking up online, anyone experienced this yet?

i played it on xbox. Its soo cool. mario cart for grownups.

Did you see the ads. "it's not about winning its about making friends... POW fist to the stomach. LOL

I own Split second on ps and can't decide which one i like more. both are really cool. sad they came out the same time, otherwise i would have both

Blur....Split Second....do we really NEED more arcadey racing games? Every one I've played(including Burnout Paradise) just bores the hell out of me after a while. GT5 hurry up!

Anybody still playing Blur? There has not been a post in awhile. I am awaiting gamefly to send me a copy to try it out (rental). Racing Destruction, is this to get our aggressions out before the release of GT5 so we all play nice :mischievous: ? The game actually sounds fun and I can't believe there was not a Demo on the PSN. I remember a cool Electronic Arts game back in the Commodore 64 days that was called Racing Destruction that I spent hours on.

Blur is a terrible game for me and here's why,

It's because the game has an atrocious rubber band AI no matter which game difficulty you're playing. When I'm against Rhymer's team, "Fan Favorites", the AI is getting better than I am, even when I play on easy. I tried my defenses such as bolts, reverse shunts, shields and mines to oppose the upcoming shunts behind me. When I don't have them in my slots, the shunts are impossible to avoid. I tried swerving my car on straights as well on corners and still, the issue is there. I'm just not good enough with this game. I only rented this through Gamefly and after I beat two rivals, the game has gameplay issues. Blur's single player is poor, really poor. Multiplayer is better for this game, but you're going to fight through single player to unlock all the mods and the bosses' cars, which it will give you more frustration and time to complete the whole game. That's why it is a terrible game for me.

No one beats Criterion Games at arcade racing games, and I mean no one. I picked Burnout Paradise over Blur, Split Second and Midnight Club: Los Angeles any day, anytime, anywhere.

Thanks for the Heads UP:tup: I will try it, but like I said I rented it. I am a bit frustrated with Battlefield 2 right now with the Horrible lag on the servers. I have MC:LA, Burnout, and I really enjoyed those titles.

The points you bring up - that's one of the main reasons I hate arcade racing games. They are designed to be played online, and so the AI is just not up to scratch because no effort is made by the developer on this aspect. Simulations are designed to be played offline because the AI is one of the key strengths. Look at F1:CE on PS3 - arguably the best offline racing game on PS3 because it offer's a compelling single-player experience. The opposite is true for arcade racers: playing them against the computer is boring as hell. Bottom line, when I play racers online it's with Grid or Dirt, but not as often as I play offline racing with F1:CE. I've yet to play a good arcade racing game offline.

Got the demo of this yesterday, and I am absolutely getting the game. I'm completely addicted to this, I've done 100 races already in less than 24 hours, and I'm actually good at it too. How's this for a winning streak?

I tried the demo for about 2 turns before I turned it off. I wanted to try it with my G25 but it only supported the controller. I have a copy coming from gamefly to try, I hope it has wheel support.

Downloaded the demo yesterday, and boy is it massive. Loads of fun. Add me if you want to race.

This isn't a wheel sort of game, no cockpit view and to be honest I think you would struggle to drive with a wheel. The cars are licensed but that is where the similarities to real life end. If I had to pick a game to compare it to, it would be Wipeout, only I think the slower pace and better distribution of power ups makes it an easier game to break in to.

Already got the full game :), but the demo is still on my PS3, so I might add you and come back anyway :sly:

You can buy the game if you want it.

I did get it off Steam and I think its actually a good game that is more of a grown up Mario-Kart with actual cars.

Still keeps the arcade gaming style fresh so its just something different to have for a quick bash around.

Hey guys I have Blur and love it. If you:

Are thinking about getting it, get it.
You don't like racing games, get it.
You don't have a PS3, get it on 360 or PC.
You don't have a PS3 or 360, get it on PC.
You don't have a PS3, 360 or PC, then buy 1 of the 3 and get it.

You understand where I'm coming from: I bought this game a few months ago for £4 delivered! Amazing value for such an UNDERRATED game :P

Saying that only about 400 people play online, if you guys wanna play it with me, then add me on PSN ID: KGBing. (write in the message that you're here from GTPlanet)

Thanks all and get Blurring!

You forgot the best bit, it has my hometown in it :P. Brighton, the tracks are so awesome because its my hometown and its pretty accurate despite the artistic license.

Aah yes Ashers, not to forget it's large variety of interesting tracks, too :sly:

Anyway, it's such a shame that there will be no Blur 2, as Bizarre Creations is bust :guilty::guilty::guilty::guilty::guilty::guilty::guilty::guilty:

It's strange, isn't it:

(PS3) Call of Duty (any of them): 5,000,000 people playing online
(PS3) Blur: 400 or 500

:indiff::indiff::indiff:

I just got it, very excited...will be coming online eventually, once I have some cars worthy of online!
