If you want to know why I’m an atheist…

No. Just no. I applaud you for trying BMW, but this isn't what you need with 3 "SUV"s on the market already. If you want this kind of car, just keep building a 5 Series Touring model.

Every time i think BMW have introduced their ugliest car, they just go ahead and show an uglier one :yuck:

The off spring of a drunken one night stand involving an X6 and a 5 series estate.

Just plain weird.

that is NOT what I wanted to see as a first thing in the morning. it's bit like waking up after a night in the bar and notice that the pretty woman you took to your bed last night isn't woman at all..

Why has BMW become obsessed with AMC? That's two Eagle-type cars in a row. The next thing you know, they'll bring out the next 1-series, making it basically a 3-series with the trunk lopped off...

and then a MINI with huge windows, making it look like a fishbowl....

That thing just looks awkward. Maybe it looks better in person though, and in a color other than "Camry Champagne." Is that BMW's signature color now?

I think the truly great part is that BMW waited until after Bangle left the company, meaning even those who still thought Bangle was doing the ugly cars can't even scapegoat him this time.

Also, what exactly is a Progressive Activity Sedan?

the 5 Series Gran Turismo concept will likely be one of the last Bimmers that Chris Bangle has had a significant hand in designing (for better or worse)

From the article.

He did design this one.

Possibly. Possibly not. Keep in mind that most Beamer designs of late are Hooydonk's monstrosities, not Bangle's. Him being at BMW at the time of its design does not mean much of anything by itself.

I question their intentions with this car... A time where no cash is flowing is not a time to be spitting out new car that don't really have a purpose.

What is this exactly? What is it suppose to do for us?

+1. My guess is it's supposed to be some sort of an Allroad or XC70 in sedan form with a hatch...

It's obviously an X6 low rider with an ugly Volvo S40 style snub nose.

I have the same opinion!

It's just a X6 with some cosmetic changes from the 5-serie!

I dont see what is the point of creating this car!

I really hate it when automakers call their cars "GT", when they actually have four doors.
But maybe "GT" stands for something different in german? Merc also called one of their four door saloons "GT", so maybe it means "German Tourer" or something...=)

in german, it means Grosse Türen ( big doors )(j/k), but i'd say that it's more like Gross Turd..

Official (highly post-processed) studio shots – in case, you know, you’re the kind of person who enjoys pouring battery acid on your eyes.

Is this a freakout reaction to the Porsche Panamera? Because thats the vibe I'm getting here...
