That is very true. But still I find calling GT3 drivers "better than average drivers" a tad too much.
But isn't your average driver someone who has never driven a race car and tends to have only ever driven on public roads in family hatchbacks?

Yeah that's what I mean. GT3 drivers no matter if Pro or Am are definitely more than just "above average drivers". Anyway, let's maybe do the rest via PMs as this is getting quite OT.

There must be valid reason why FIA allowed electronic aids in GT3 class race cars ;) Imagine if the rules were changed and no aids allowed, no TCS, no ABS, similar to SuperGT rules, that would be a sight ( imagine GT3 cars racing in the rain without TCS and ABS IRL )

Apologies. I thought you meant it was an overstatement rather than an understatement. I've missed something there :dunce:.

BMW Z4 GT3. Is one of the best cars in the game in my opinion.
I find it very well balanced and really fun to drive.

But everyone is entitled to his own opinion, just don't call it a programming error.
That is just not true.
If you find this car well balanced, you must find almost every other car in the game outside a few MR's and racecars terribly unbalanced.

I can only assume he means tuned. Like most cars, with the right setup for you it's a joy.

I bought it and i regretted it after one lap.... even after using a proper tune ( Praiano's one ). :ouch:

Given that most people who play GT struggle with anything less than racing tires on 300 hp street cars, I'd be a little leery of saying that most find it a joy with the right setup:lol:

Try @Ridox2JZGTE 's tune. Or the HaB-Racing one I suggested before. :)

Agreed, but I mean like most cars. I'll edit it to clarify and avoid future confusion.

Guess it must be about driving style. I did find it quite well balanced (within reasonable parameters), and certainly easier to recover from an oversteer situation than many of the MR cars.

I know I've got a GT-R GT3 car... I think I've got one of the Audi's, I might do a couple of comparative runs tonight.

what tracks do you guys find the Z4 so bad at?

edit: Just remembered... I could NOT got the Z4 slowed down in anything like a neat and controlled fashion at turn 1 @ Daytona Road course. But other than that, it really seems okay.

The SLS on the other hand has terrible understeer, almost FT-1 levels of understeer

I havn't tried Ridox tune yet but the Highlandor tune from HaB Racing mentionned by 86Debris86 is very good. Just don't forget to put 0/0 camber and increase the LSD accel value a little if you find the rear too understeery out of corner.

how do you know? In assetto corsa the GT3 cars are remarkably similar to GT6

As someone who has tried both I have to say...

Not sure we're playing the same Assetto Corsa

In GT6 the car is garbage, in AC it is a pure joy to drive, they feel and handle completely differently between the games. Like I said about GT6's SLS GT3 car, I for one would hate trying to race a vehicle competitively if it handled anything like that.

Chris Harris ran his session with a setting of 7/10 on a wet circuit. What makes people believe that the factory drivers aren't using the adjustable aids? GT5's "OMG TC is a noob aid" mentality is most likely to blame. All drivers use the aids because it enables them to be on the throttle earlier...Heck even F1 had a period where TC was allowed.

Harris was on 7/12 TCS, that car also has several levels of ABS what driver can alter during driving.

The thread is a load of rubbish, not the car. Once you get the right setup on it, this thing is unbeatable.

I agree with hsv010 on this. I didn't like the GT3 cars(apart from the SLS) but once I learned how the behave I love them, people just don't spend enough time on them to actually make them work. Just my opinion.

The car is easy to drive at a moderate pace. Once you start really pushing it you start to see its flaws. I'm no ti tech or dholland but I finished 20th in one of the GT5 time trials. I know how to push the car and this car just sucks once you start getting to the limit.. On racing hards it isn't that bad but on softs it gets much worse. The BMW M3 '11 whatever it is. The gt car next to it in the dealership handles like a dream. And at the same specs isn't as fast. This game is just dumb. For many reasons besides cars that handle stupid. Take it to nurb GP/F run it at 552 hp and 1250 kg's on racing softs.. The car is fast as hell. But tell me how much fun it is trying to get it to run consistent 1:52's or 51's. And I'm to lazy to test it myself. But I have a feeling cars with handling traits like this don't show there bad sides to pad users as frequently as wheel users. Whoever runs it at those specs and get it to run consistent 52's or 51's and says it's fun.... Let me get your set up if your a wheel user. Make sure you run it with the most realistic setting and tire wear on. Just abs 1

Posting gifs like that is such a waste of time and space. Go outside. This hab tune. Does he use a wheel? And do you use a wheel?

Not really. I think it sums up my reaction perfectly whilst also being slightly amusing for some people, although clearly not you. Anyway, after this I'm done with this thread so you won't see any more here from me. 👍

And in answer to your question; I mainly use DS3 at my place and my friends wheel at his. HaB tune works well for both. Probably better for the wheel.

Calling the game dumb because he thinks the Z4 GT3 is terrible

The z4 being a terrible car is not why I think the game is dumb. You can scower these forums for those reasons. Anyone got a tune that makes the car fun yet at those specs?
