Hello Chaps,

I just thought I would let you know of Bobs epic ability to spin it on the straight at Indy.

Well done him!

Not a rant just a piece of classic driving which I think you should all know about.

Mine will always spin if I tell him to overtake when there is 2 car side by side ahead of him. He will manage to twist the wheel right and left quickly and spins out.

one of my Bobs is lvl 24 now, and he's a pretty amazing driver actually. Especially in high powered cars and race cars he frequently sets better lap times than me.

Mine just brakes on the straights if he comes up behind a car rather than actually pulling out and overtaking it. So frustrating.

I never get why they do that. My Bob approaches a backmarker while doing 230+ mph on the Mulsanne, and guess what, brakes to 180 mph before passing the guy that clearly gave way.

My B-Spec Drivers are all level 29 to 31 and they all drive better than me.LOL

My Bob's won the FGT Championship with ease and I can't even control the FGT.

I'm going to have to practice with the FGT when I get finished with all the other stuff I want to do.

I'm currently Grinding and collecting race cars, (15 so far), Ha Ha

My drivers are all level 31+ too and no sorry they don't drive better than me. I must admit, they got a whole lot better after level 24, but they still suck.

B-Spec will never attain our skills, but they attain what they need to beat the other competitors in B-Spec.

What really could have made B-Spec fully evolved if the driver actually learns from our driving habits and techniques.

Agreed 👍

If only it looked like, just for a moment, a man was actually driving the cars then it might not be quite as painful to watch. But it's nonsense, pure and simple.

I think PD has missed a huge opportunity for awesomeness with the Bobs.

Firstly I'd like to share my Bob's names

A.Bigot (level 9)
P.Oster (Level 12) He's my favourite, I call him Poster.
and...
F.Ong (level 4) Like poster I call him Fong.

If I were PD I would have done the following with the Bobs.

1. Let players fill in their own names.
You could fill in your real name, family members names, pet's names and some funny and famous peoples names (like the ones that you have to hunt for already.)

2. The name of the person driving would appear on your racing cars (like S.Loeb on his C4). Your own name would appear on your cars during A-spec.

3. Let players create their own race team. You'd choose a livery and then choose 3 different colours, a base and 2 secondary a-la Grid. As the game progresses you'd earn sponsors for your race cars. This livery and colours system would cary over to your Bob's racing suit and custom designed helmet (Of which there would be choise between brands, Simpson, Sparco etc).

4. As with earning cars, you could earn drivers. Imagine getting to a level where you could use the Stigs from TopGear, either Black or White. And perhaps get famous drivers to drive for you, but I know that gets into legal issues with sponsors etc.

5. Let the player drive alongside his Bob's... call is C-spec also A-la Grid.

Sorry if this post is a little off topic, it is still about Bob's.

The funniest thing mine has ever done was unintentionally manji drift the entire length of the Grand Valley Straight because he couldn't get my 800+bhp Merc sedan undercontrol.

I never get why they do that. My Bob approaches a backmarker while doing 230+ mph on the Mulsanne, and guess what, brakes to 180 mph before passing the guy that clearly gave way.

In that scenario, my bob would crash into the car ahead of him, spinning out and making donuts for about 20 seconds.

I think the most entertainment I've gotten out of Bob yet is watching him run Grand Valley in the Nascar series. He's got a lead foot and drifts the car around every corner like he's competing in a D1 event. Unfortunately, his tires are shot after just a few laps and then he falls way behind.

Mine will always spin if I tell him to overtake when there is 2 car side by side ahead of him. He will manage to twist the wheel right and left quickly and spins out.

Yeah same here.....imagine someone doing that in real life :/ sad

At monaco in the FGT races, out 30 laps, Bob hit the inside wall going onto the front straight 21 times. That's just terrible programming.

Although, I might be imagining it, but my newest Bob is named G Berger, and even though he personally is level 11, I think he's better than the other 3 who are all 20+. Maybe you just have to find real driver names... I just created P Carpentier as my fifth. I'll see how he does when Gerhardt finishes the FGT Championship. :)

One of my first races with Bob I had him in that Mugen Civic. I had not learned how to control him yet and he was still at level 1.

I told him to drive all out and keep passing other drivers. Well, he got so upset that he kept spinning himself in the same spot for WELL over a minute straight.

I am really bummed that I did not save the replay.

Bob and I are true friends. He knows how to make me laugh.

..

OK, I was wrong. Gerhard Bob-ger hits the same wall just as often and appears programmed to spin whenever he attempts to pass for first anywhere at Monaco.

Why, PD? Why do you program in such stupidity?
