I have an AIM Bot. If you have never interacted with one, I suggest you do. It's SN on AIM is GT3bedbuddy Bot

It responds to all words except the f word, and is fairly smart and sometimes rude. But funny. Chat with him, I always have him signed on.

If you are wondering what a bot is, it replies to what YOU say due to its programming. No body types it, it is all programmed. So check him out.

Keep in mind, its not humans, so it wont do math for you or answer intelligent questions. But really, just mess with it (anything goes).
 
man, no offense, but you need to talk to an 'AIM bot' ?!?! things must be getting that bad huh? Listen, get help at charter or somewhere. j/k
 
I don't think they have Charter in NY, but maybe you could just bug a few of our loyal chatters around here. You've got GTP cred already, give it a shot.
 
Companies use them to get you to go to their website. In some cases, from what I've heard, people can't tell they're bots. They've gotten that sophisticated.

Why do you have one?

To some 'older' folk, you might remember the very roots of something like this, Dr. Sbaitso. I actually found him on the net still, and he works with current sound cards! Incredible how we've advanced.

Oh, and bots are easy stuff. I've been coding bots on IRC for 10 years. :)

Sorry, that's not a James Brown song. But the bot's programmer has a sense of humor.
 
as a matter of fact i added more replies. You obviously can't make him be able to KNOW what you are going to ask. You can only program words and short phrases into him. So if you ask him something with the word "what" in it, then it will respond to what i told it to say to "what". Like I programmed it to respond to "gay" but if you spell gaming wrong as "gayming", then it thinks you said gay, and responds accoringly. Once again:
