break in hp increase

I'm not sure if this has been asked but when you break in your engine will it increase your hp considerably???

Everyone has a different definition of considerably but it does increase the hp

I took a new Castrol Supra Premium to the Spa B-spec seasonal race. It was bang-on the PP limit, but each time I re-run the race, I have to de-tune the engine because it has gained 3-4hp during the previous race. I guess this is a good example as the race is 10laps so a fair distance.

As for the HP increase from breaking in the engine, I believe the overall gain is 5% but I am not entirely sure. Let me do a search and see if I can find the answer. (See what I did there?)

It's a base HP increase by ~8-10%.
So a car with 200HP can achieve 215-225HP after engine break in.

That's what my cars does.
