Bring the TV much closer and now I can enjoy realistic driving

Same here pretty much. My DIY rig is made with a front piece that goes under the top lip of my TV stand. This ensures it's squared up with the TV and will never lift up because it's secured by the weight of the TV stand as well.

We just need a FOV option and option to remove wheel now!

I'm always torn about removing the wheel in Project Cars. For immersion it can be better but for screenshots and streaming gameplay it's a bit lacking since people can't see my inputs

I am indeed a very lucky man ;)

For anybody interested in the immersion aspect of our hobby there is an excellent blog about one blokes search for the most immersive experience. It's a bit outdated now but it's a good read http://www.projectimmersion.com/
I've seen this a few times, the projector screen is incredible! Not sure i'd replace that with a curved tv however.

It is bad for your eyes though, even if it’s a wives tale
I play on my rig and the tv is relatively large (I don’t remember the exact size) and it’s over 2m from where I am sitting

If I play for a while especially a longer race with high concentration my eyes have become irritated and visibly bloodshot so be careful is all I can say

If you have money to spend, invest on high quality 32 inch monitor and sit around 600mm from it. Give GTS a try on immersion and you'll find new ways of driving

Better buy a bigger TV and put it a little bit more further away because this will you're stressing your eyes too much - you are constantly focusing on the near objects.

Stop pedalling rubbish!

Myth: Sitting too close to the TV is bad for the eyes.
Fact: Although parents have been saying this ever since TVs first found their way into our homes, there's no evidence that plunking down right in front of the TV set damages someone's eyes. The American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) says that kids can actually focus up close without eyestrain better than adults, so they often develop the habit of sitting right in front of the television or holding reading material close to their eyes. However, sitting close to a TV may be a sign of nearsightedness.

I agree with @PzR Slim. If your eyes start to hurt, it may not be because of the TV, but rather an imbalance between the backlight the TV gives and ambient light. Keep the lights on, have the TV at a comparable brightness, and you should be good to go. If your eyes still ache, it may be because of nearsightedness- the muscles in your eyes have to keep contracting to keep them focused. Like all muscles, they can become strained, which is why it aches. If this happens, contact a doctor immediately. Nearsightedness only worsens every moment you have to put effort at keeping your eyes focused.

@azrilnazli just go for PSVR and you'll never bother with a big TV ever again. Nothing compares for immersion, especially since you have a wheel. Nowadays, I spend more time in VR than any other mode.

I have CV1 for my iRacing, but will need to spend for ps pro for VR GTS. The only reason I play GT is because of Sport mode.

IRacing in PC and GT:S in PS4, perfect match :)

Guess I was wrong.
You mates are so lucky to be able to have the money and space for such a large setup.

Has anyone tried mounting the wheel behind the screen so it feel like your reaching through the monitor?

Turn down the brightness.

Sitting this close is like new revealation. It's like your first time in VR. You need to train your eyes and brain with new sitting position. And don't play in the dark , make sure you have enough lightning.

Done my dailies today and driving M4 is so much rewarding with TC=0 and sitting like in real car
