i am interested but will need to see what it turns out to be mp wise.
There are simply too many games.
And i already regret some purchases (TDU2, Bulletstorm, both great but Tdu lacks in physics and Bulletstorm in longitivity)
If it's good it's a buy to hold over till BF3

I have not heard much positive feedback about this game at all. So I will be interrested in seeing what your opinions are of the game. I might eventually rent this. I heard the co-op is similar to the layout in Unreal Tournament 3 where its just you and a friend against bots. Then a few cinemas. Then the next bot battle.

I'm anxious to hear more of people's opinions on this game, it's really perked my interest but the reviews have kept me from picking it up.
I might give it a rent, I just don't have the time to get enough from a game in a week.

People, we have all read the negative reviews. Still consider this:
- Some were pumped out very fast (joystiq's review questioned on reasonable ground for not having played the game more than 3 hours)
- A whole bunch did not try online (and this is mainly an online game)
- Most played on Xbox and if you hike over to lensoftruth it was obvious PS3 had the upper hand on graphics...
-...and maybe that's why the metacritic score for the PS3 version is the higest of the platforms: 77/100 and that is a good score. Xbox scored 68/100, a significant difference.
- Yes there seems to be some glitches and bugs but consider that most games get patched and you should consider the game after initial patch (which get released day one)
- Is the Brink teamplay something you are looking for? If you think CoD sets the standard you should go play that and have fun. It is unfair to approach a game with expectations that are clearly not in line with what this game is trying to do
- If you read bad reviews, go look for the good reviews then to balance your view. There certaninly are good reviews out there. Go read Eurogamer review or something.
With this said, Brink might still not be good, I havn't received my copy yet. I just get allergic to when people check this one gamesite that come out with a negative review before the game is even on the market and make their opinions on that.

despite the reveiws I bought brink and now that psn is online i am loving the expereince the only way brink works good is when you are playing with freinds it is a coop shooter that demands freinds rather than bots. THE custimization is pretty close to OUTSTANDING. I love it and the amount of wepons and custimization is steller there are pretty much to camps ones that love brink and one that hate it. is it a perfect game no is it a really different game/shooter yes. If you are tired of COD clones and tired military shooters and want something differnt something fresh Brink might be up your alley add me if you play mypsn is on my avatar area lol

Basically, on the PS3 it's a decent game that needs some getting used to and it needs to be understood what it's trying to do (teamwork). Much fun can be had but there are significant downsides as well. I've experienced no stutter and no lag. I'd rate my first impression 6/10. New maps and gameplays to be expected with the free dlc in June.

Sad to see no extended love for this game. I played it early on and have come back for some MP once in every while. Recently (post patch) I started playing for a few days at a time.
My most recent has been all of last week. Okay, not too much activity online right now but I have kept myself busy levelling up characters of the various classes.
Only stuck on that last damn trophy "That mine you spotted - disarmed" Anyone still playing out there on PS3?

I ended up playing it alot. Brink is the only platinum trophy I have. I have a lot of love for Brink, I love the atmosphere and the music and and the feel so much. The mine was a little tricky at first but no big deal really. Just keep spotting and eventually an AI engi will disarm it. I thought it was much tougher to get three star challenges. I realised I had to play with a newbie character because if you rock upp with your level 24 the AI will be set to that level and then I found they became overwhelming and impossible to deal with.

Cheers Alltidxx - I shall keep on persevering. Glad you sussed out the three-star challenge method, I'd almost given up on that one until I tried again with a fresh character

Had a real fight against someone with an EZ 'Nade perched high up on the Sec Tower mission - got him a few times though That's why I enjoy playing on after the story is done; those heavy weapons.
Weird thing though, I saw a medium body character with a chain-gun...

Brink really did have a hard life, didn't it? Better looking on PS3 than CODbox360 but it relied heavily on online features and was released during the PSN's worst period of downtime, so that would have soured PS3 players' opinion of it. Meanwhile on PC it had many, many technical issues, most of which weren't fixed when they ran a free weekend on Steam; I really wanted to like it but having to Alt-F4 out of a game because it unbinds ALL keys when you press Esc doesn't really compel you to buy it!

PS3 is the best platform to play it on. Slightly better graphics than 360, it works fine and always had significantly more players than on PC. That's no guess, it was plain to see when the online stats page was running. I heard alot of complaints from PC players.
