that was real cool. i wish i knew someone who could drift well enough to do that with me. the drifting itself wanst too incredible but for 2 cars and getting that close and not touching, pretty badass. good job

just out of curiosity... what is everyone's definition of an incredible drift? i'm just wondering...

my brother and i do try to do some incredible drifts... i think if we both did individual videos instead of twin drifts... we'd probably suck cuz all we do is exhibition drifts...

so if u can clarify on incredible drifting... my brother and i will aspire to do it with 2 cars side by side going sideways :) probably really hard to do but hey worth a shot

In my opinion, an incredible drift would be something real smooth. Where you don't see the body shaking that much, or the choppy countersteering (I use the analog). Doing something smooth as close to race line as possible is what does it for me.

Although, there are some curves that I like to drift on the outside. Not really anywhere near the race line or anything. But cool indeed.

Also, linking drifts look great. Imagine linking the curves after the 180 on Deep Forest. Maintaining the smoothness and all with another drifter. Now that would look incredible to say the least. 👍

Right then, that about makes for the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. :D Seriously, in GT3 land you two would put the Takahashi brothers to shame, to shame!
Also, I've not seen a great deal of vids so I didn't mind the song at all, and that Deep Forest II drift was pretty much flawless, great job in the linking.

Sorry to bring up an "old" thread so to speak, but it's just that I finished dowloading that vid recently (I'm on dial-up, cut me some slack) and not congratulating the 'divine bros.' wasn't an option.

lol!!! well thank you for that such positive feed back... I'm not so sure that we'd put the takahashi brothers to shame... and you should think about getting high speed internet, there's a lot of good videos out there for you to explore... although twin drifting hasn't caught on much but akina 86 has made some good ones if u wanna check out those

but yea... thanx for the feedback :)

SLEEK STRATOS: what does that guy think he is? the best twin drifter of all huh? he doesnt know how much time you have to put to make a twin drifting videos, its not like a 1 person drifting, people these days, i guess it's just jealousy, but next time, dont download anything if you think it sucks, because when you suck, of course it makes you jealous of seeing others who are better.

im sorry to be such happineskiller but I can t get anything on the screen...but im sure they´re where good

Dling it now...from reading the comments...I cant wait to watch it...I just wish I had someone in my area that was good enough to twin drift with me, personally I think I could do it, but I won't know until I find someone as good, or better than me

Na you wouldn't suck if you did single drifting, and I don't know what you mean about exhibition drifting... that's what every one here does. Non-exhibition drifting doesn't look like drifting at all.

Check out the "ideal drift" thread, I described what I think is good in there somewhere. Although, what you guys do, the twin drifting, is still much more incredible then pretty much any single drifting out there.

the drifting itself wanst too incredible

This is not an entirely fair statement, regardless of what was said after, but does hold some truth.

The thing with twin drifting is, if you were to just remove one of the cars then the drifting doesn't look all that special. But that's not fair, since 2 player drifting is about 10 times more difficult then single drifting. What makes it incredible is that the other car IS there. Think about it, I’m sure you and your brother could pull off quite flawless complete drift laps by yourselves. However do think that you could drift together over an entire lap with the quality of the clips you have already provided? On every corner? On every entrance and exit? This is why to some people, twin drifting doesn’t look all that cool because the clips tend to be short and most of the time not the entire corner, or not linked to anything. Now again, your video right now is the most incredible video that is available ; I’m not trying to take that away. Just comparing the “individual drifting” in twin drifting to single drifting and how they differ. Anyways keep it up, I really don’t think anyone can give you any advice on twin drifting; just continue in the direction you are going and it will evolve itself, just like single drifting has. I’m excited to see where it will lead.

I'm having some trouble following you there, are you talking strictly about me or to me? I mean... What did I say?

Well, I was just answering divine_sensei's question on what would be an incredible drift. Don't see anything wrong with that.

Guess it happens when you don't read through all the posts. Whatever. :D

I fully agree. I don't really understand what he was on about. ;)

lol seems that night_drifter was getting mad or irratated at the wrong person... I don't take any offense to what you guys say since u guys obviously know a lot more about this game than my brother and I do... heck he went here to get the drift settings to start us off... basically no matter what you say can't offend me unless u turn into some racist bastard but that's besides the point my brother and I are grateful for any feed back...

As for the codec i'm not sure try k-lite codec 5? not sure but that codec pack contains quite a few codecs... if not just pm me or my bro and we'll try and figure it out...

In our next video, my brother and I will TRY to have a full lap of close drifting. Just thinking about it makes me scared. Hopefully there will be a video out before the game is out of date. HeHe. I dont want to raise everyones hopes saying that there will be another video. If a lap happens to be good, then ill post it up, but dont expect anything anytime soon. :D

Sounds great, I'm looking forward to it. I wish you lived near me, so we could do some twin drifting. ;)

I was at my cousins house this weekend trying to get some 2 Player footage. He's ok for not ever playing GT3. He can get it sideways and keep it there, but he has no technique what-so-ever and that's what's holding him back. He does learn really quick though and by just watching him do a few laps at Laguna Seca I could already see his progress. I highly doubt you'll ever see a video from us though because I really don't like the physics in two player. I also don't like the digital tach, or the fact that it's harder to tell to listen to the car when someone else is playing too.

When I drift with my brother, all my brother does is drift the turns. Then I have to copy his line, angle, and speed. Speed is the hardest to copy for me. I've gotten better (I think) at doing it. Most of twin drifting depends on how well I can copy my brother. If you want to practice by yourself, do a good lap. Save the ghost and copy it the best you can.

Yeah, the physics suck in 2 player mode, and the tach sucks too. I usually use the sound of the engine to tell me when to shift. In 2 player mode, I can't really hear my engine well enough.;)

Your damn right. It is hard to have the same speed as the first person. Its very hard to do a one lap drifting. I was thinking doing Touge Racing. Like how Initial D does, i want to set two cars, and then battle it for reals, for example, check this video of me and akina battle for reals and we decided to post for fun hehehe https://www.gtplanet.net/gallery/photos/gt3_video/Akinavs_Night_Drifter.wmv (the video is kind of 1 years old)( I post this video long time ago but just example thats all)I want to make Touge Battle, i think it be really cool. But right now, since i havent play GT3 for two months now, i cant even drift or grip race no more, damn i feel like im a beginner now. I cant even beat my cousin that only plays GT3 for a month. Plus i cant handle my settings and damn I need 5 hours of practice more then i might get it i hope!!

aye aye aye!!! i dun think we're good enough for a whole lap of drifting that close... nah uh no way... we need a lot more practice... and considering how i don't go home that often nemore and yea... i'm way outta practice and u dun play that much nemore... so shoot we won't have another video out for a while... and it'd probably take even longer to have just a whole lap of twin drifting... which would be cool but extremely hard to do... but hey it'd be a goal to try for no one's done it before...

and yea i do agree the game acts differently under 2 player mode... i think the game runs a lil slower so it can do the correct calculations... but in that time it throws off most ppls timing and control... the delay is just enough to make it feel completely different... but when u do all ur drifiting in the 2 player mode u kinda get used to it...

as its emphasized so often to newbies like myself... the only way to get better is to hit up that settings forum and practice

Will GT3 run slower if there were two PS2's connected through iLink? If not, then there might be no lag in twin drifting.
