Maybe not for all the races, but definitely for the endurance group. tired of literally not being able to play for 24 hours at a time. and whats with having to repeat the same race a dozen times. leveling system needs refined as well.

:grumpy:

Lots of people agree. You could have posted this in one of their 100's of posts on the very subject. Attention starved much?

B-Spec needs neglecting and eventually abandoning like the b*****d child that it is because I want a driving game not a car tamagotchi.

I agree, B-spec needs a FF button. Imo this 'car tamagochi' mode isn't what you call fun, but it gives you more money and better cars. 👍

I found a trick...

do the b spec events while watching hockey or football...

leveling, acquiring money and nice cars and watching my favorite teams play!!! (Canadians and Pats!)

that's atwo for one !!

A fast forward button would be nice ,but hard to implement because for the same reason ,F1 2010 couldn't have actual lap times in qualifying which wouldn't work in a race on gt5 ,also the race screen would need to be changed to remove the on track action which would just look wrong on fast forward, if it is introduced it should be only available on endurance races not the short ones where you need to press more button's to win if you're in equal cars.

The races are 24 hours long.... meaning you get to play nothing at all on your PS3 every time you enter these races. You will be doing this for nearly two weeks between levels 35 to 40.

You do realize Bspec had FF in GT4 and it worked great...

i dunno...
dont like the idea of fastforwarding in GT5. just dont do the 24h if the situation doesnt allow it.

So if you don't like FF then you wouldn't have to use it... you could play the long drawn out way if it suites you.

Bingo

If I want to watch the pretty cars I'll watch my own replay.

As for the money and cars, without the fast forward it's no quicker than doing the race your self which is the fun bit. So for every hour I dedicate to B-Spec mode thats an hour I can't be enjoying the game my self.

I would honestly sooner the development time of B-Spec mode have been spent modelling just one more premium car :)

As for being selfish, I suspect a majority of players would happily loose the B-Spec mode and have had it's development time spent on any of the games current deficits or even it having been released slightly earlier.

What prize car do you get from Le mans 24 h ?

In the last Famitsu interview Yamauchi has been clear: we won't see that. Here's why (my translation):

Is there any reason why the 3x speed mode that made race progress quicker in GT4 disappeared?
Yamauchi: As for GT5, I'd like people to play it for a long time. Finishing 24 hour races in 8 hours sounds cheap, but also a bit sad. In the B spec mode the time invested in selecting cars and training drivers is the game itself. I realized that there shouldn't be facilities to reduce such time. Doesn't it take much time to run three laps in A-Spec races? Experience points are obtained according to the time and preparation involved and I feel that also obtaining them in accelerated time in B-spec mode is unfair. Of course, if there weren't experience points, then I wouldn't have problems in making an accelerated time mode. Technically it's possible up to about 10 times as fast, but with that, don't you think that playing in A-spec mode be pointless? In GT4 I included the accelerated speed mode experimentally, but in GT5, after realizing that it should not be a thing to do, I didn't.

It isn't hard to implement as GT4 already had a fast forward function for B-spec, PD just decided to remove it for whatever reason.
Guess they wanted B-spec to be taken seriously as a gameplay element in itself instead of the easy-money route it was in GT4 although I'm getting really bored by it now, it's fun for a while pretending to be Norbert Haug, Jean Todt or even good old, ahem, Flavio Briatore (considering some of my B-spec monkeys crashed after my instructions..........) but I'd rather be behind the wheel myself thank you very much.
Sure you can watch the telly or do other stuff whilst B-spec Bob (and his cohorts) are racing but then again, why not fast forward it when you don't pay attention to it anyway?

On a sidenote, is the X1 (excuse me, X2010) available at B-spec level 30 or 35, hear conflicting info about this?
(The only reason I do B-spec is game progression and price cars, not because it's any fun)

They definitely need to bring this feature back, especially for the endurance races...

I'm beginning to wonder the same thing because although people have stated that you are awarded this car at level 35 B-Spec, I know someone who has gotten to and surpassed level 35 B-Spec and just ended up purchasing the car himself .

What a bunch of BS!! Give the PLAYERS the decision to speed up or not!

Give me fast forward option or cut b-spec! Or make a-spec/b-spec one (you can select which you want before a race)!! :yuck:

It's gifted to you at B Spec level 35 in a pop up window.

At B Spec level 30 a pop up will come up telling you the car is now at the GT dealership. You got in there and see that it's 20 million credits and you have to be level 40 to buy it. Only difference between that one and the gifted one you get for free at level 35 is. Now you can pick from all the colors it comes in.

Thanks, it still is 35 isn't it, wondered whether it changed to 30 after the patch?
Since the Nürburgring 24 hour lay-out was also made available for less than before.

A bit cheap? maybe Sony have finally managed to agree a share of the profits from the electricity companies with all those PS3's on for weeks on end without a break?

Frankly to me, finishing a 24h race in 8 hours doesn't sound as "sad" as having to leave your PS3 on for a week and a half in order to finish the same event because of a rather antiquated design choice.

Not too keen on leaving the PS3 racing for 24 hours straight. Can we claim the cost of a new one from PD if this excessive use kills it (lol)!

All this long B spec racing will do is enable me to play on my 360 while "Bob" is grinding away on Enduros. I have some 360 games that I have yet to play so I have plenty to keep me busy. Had the reverse situation with running "B spec" races in Forza 3 to grind money so that I could buy all the cars in the game (which I managed). I used the time to play on my PS3.

In the last Famitsu interview Yamauchi has been clear: we won't see that. Here's why (my translation):

Geez that reasoning is a joke... so the fact that Bspec races are in general longer than the Aspec equivalent but pay out less Cr and only give Bspec exp that doesn't count towards Aspec doesn't seem to matter, but God forbid that you get to speed up 24 hour races in Bspec because that might make A spec useless... WTF? Bspec EXP doesn't even carry over to Aspec at all...

And the Exp earned is tied to the setup and choices for the race? That's why so many races have totally skewed Exp and Cr payouts comparied to longer/harder races?

Did Kaz get hit in the head or something? He is starting to sound like a lot of the forum posts we get with ridiculous logic to back up strange claims...

Totally agree with you on this one, his definition of sad seems to be, ahem, slightly different form the normal use of the term, at least if we had the choice to speed it up I'd happily be considered sad by Kaz's definition.

And about the electricity use getting up considerably compared to speeding up the process at least for the endurance races is frankly ironic with the Prius, Insight, CR-Z and the Tesla included in the game.;)

So, if they won't give us a speeding up function, then give us a save function for endurance races please, both for B-spec as well as A-spec in my opinion.

I see, Sony made it purposely not to enable the "save game" option during 24h endurance races, so that the ps3 brakes down and you are forced to buy a new one...

Every 15 minutes yesterday I dropped in on my PS3 and restarted Bob driving around Daytona in "Like the Wind" and got tons of XP and credits - I'm up over 5 million now and I think level 22. Spent the day doing stuff around the house. FF would be nice but if you remember to take a look at what he's doing (to restart a race) that's not a bad way to go.

This is not a dig at you Hawker, but I don't get how Kaz can say FF in Bspec is cheap when the very existence of Bspec promotes basically free Cr like this...

There was "B spec" in Forza 3? I don't follow.

I agree, if only to make it look like Bob is actually driving proper fast.
