Rolo ive sent you a 458 to try couldnt be naffed to dupe it so if you could send it back once you've decided it sucks i managed a 1.14.9 as it is.:):):)

Did a 1:16.4 with it, so it's clearly just my driving here. For reference, my own 458 has got slower... couldn't break out of the 17's in it. Added to that my car has more understeer and I don't feel as confident with it. I'm gonna use the setup from your car then send it back 👍

EDIT: With my car, your setup gives me 1:16.7's but no more. Weirdly, the transmission numbers don't match from your 458 to mine, meaning I can't set the gears the same as yours - the numbers don't go high enough :S

Off topic: why does my orange phone now say EE now instead of Orange? I thought I'd been cut off but I'm still using it .com

Orange and T-Mobile have merged, and EE is the new company.

Makes sence 👍 but what does EE stand for? Does anyone know?

Hurrah!!

Have you run yours completely in? I do my transmission in a way to get an even spread across the gearing dunno if thats anything to do with it??:dunce:

Nope. It's through all gears.

Think i mentioned something a while back that i thought the merc had a turbo kind of whine at times. Think i was told i'm old and my hearing is not what it used to be. :sly:

Yeah, it's done nearly 1000 miles (isn't it 250 to break it in?)

I noted down the exact figures you had your transmission settings on, but when it came to my car the highest I could go wasn't as high as your numbers (had the max speed set to 180 as well) :scared:

Hold up PM on route.:)

Default gears, set final drive full right, (Around 5.000-6.000) then set max speed to the lowest setting (118-124 ish mph). Then adjust gear ratios from there. Can be helpfull for lengthing 1st gear for fast starts or keeping gears close to each other for high rpm output engines 👍.

Don't listen to em stu!! I've only noticed it since the update and my old ears are quite attuned to the sound of the Merc.

Anyone found ditching a little aero any quicker? Cant say ive tried it as yet (been brave enough more like):scared:

I found it to be quicker on RM FF cars 👍. I used a Civic RM on full df 15, 35 and beat the lap by .4 on 15, 20. Most of that time was gained on straights with very little (If any) time lost in bends.

Read edit :). Was around 2-3 mph faster up the straights with that little change.

Was on GP/D ;). Also Sports Soft tyres.

Edit: Could do the same on GP/F too it you want there would probs be a bigger difference. But FFs don't need the rear DF really it's just there to stabilize the rear. I can try on an FR car to if you want :).

I did a small test (all be it very crude). I ran the SLS the full length of the Monza straight from a standing start with full aero 40 then minimum 5 until i hit the brick wall guarding the first chicane both times i died at 175mph crap test then?

I find it varies per car as well as track, but, for the most high-downforce tracks, I think you want to take a tiny bit of downforce off.

Anyone running minimum downforce round here will be impossible to pass.:sly:

Edit: Full aero will make it faster off the line, but min aero will make it faster down the straight.
