Dave i'd love for your last pm to be made public, interesting what a new guy feels reflecting on the series chat/atmosphere. Us olds promise to try and put it right.:guilty:👍

If it's what you wish, I would have no problem with that mate. Once I don't become a target for those that feel it's aimed at them lol

As JB says would be good to hear a new comers view. A lot of us have been in it a while and may be slightly biased. 👍

Well as JB said he would love it to be made public, it went something like this (adapted, and more detail put in since the pm).......

For anybody looking for a new series to join, if like me, they would probably read through the last 10pages or so to see what the action is like, before making a desicion. Now, for me, reading through some of the comments after last nights race, a few of you clearly have problems with the way others race. But the real kicker is that the tension is very clearly visible, which in my opinion could easily have a knock on effect for the series as a whole. Do you guys really want to make your grievances with one another public, and risk putting off having new members sign up, and push away others that are already here.

Now obviously I don't know the ins and outs of how JB and Gedi run things, but common sense would tell me that they would prefer issues with others to be dealt with purely via PM, both to admin, and/or the other driver in question.....

End of the day though guys, GT is a game...... I do fully understand however how much you all want to win etc, but surely common sense and a bit of respect for JB & Gedi would surely not go amiss..... Without them, this series wouldn't exist, the arguing in public, could easily make that happen though.

Not wanting to feel like I'm pushing my weight about, seeing as I'm the new guy, but it has to be said unfortunately.

Oh, and for the record, I freely put my hand up and admit that my own driving skills are - to be put bluntly - awful lol, but thats why I join race series', so I can try and improve, and learn from my mistakes.

I know on Monday night I made some stupid manouveres, and I hope those involved (Nel, Gedi - anybody else I am unaware of upsetting) don't take it to heart. I'm not out to ruin anybodies race, if I see a chance, I know full well I should think it through a bit more than I do, but at the time, I see a potential opportunity (usually a non existant one at that haha) and I take it, and usually it ends up a disaster (Nel) lol.

So, sorry for Monday, and sorry for the future lol, although from now on, I will he be trying to be a bit more conservative hehe

👍 Dave

There have been a few racers who have become a lot faster/cleaner racers upon leaving. JB and Gedi like to run it as friendly, people share set ups, tips and tricks etc.

Even though I haven't raced with you guys yet I agree with what Dave has said.
Seeing the arguments about incidents in the race on the thread and stuff is off putting. To the point where I'm slightly apprehensive about turning up on Monday because looking at the thread, it seems as though I will fall victim some foul play and will be knocked off.
It's just all about making it enjoyable. Racing dirty, and then coming on the thread to argue about it does not help anyone at all. But of course the best thing to do is to not race dirty in the first place. Though sometimes it takes some very harsh penalties to get people into line.

I was a co-host of a previous championship, and it's a bummer when people consistently offend and turn it into a dirty championship (I'm not saying that's what is happening here). You get one or two people racing dirty, it annoys other people and they then try to get revenge. It escalates.
And to knock it on the head we needed to hand out some pretty harsh penalties to the next person that sets one toe out of line. Chances are they had never had a penalty before and it was a genuine mistake and not malicious in the slightest but an example was needed to be made.

Sounds like any typical race series on GTP then mate, except for some people abusing the core principal of what this series is about......

Thanks for all your comments above guys we are looking into it deeply, and we will get this sorted even if it upsets a few guys.

At the end of the day we all join up to have some friendly clean & fair races as they are hard to come by on here :gtpflag: (hence why me & jb started V8's)

Dave Pagey nice one guys, like Stu said a newbies insight is very helpful:tup: Hit home what Dave said to me:ouch: the last thing we want is anybody apprehensive either about signing up or racing theres no need i'd sooner pull the shutters down and lock up than carry on like that. Like Gedi says we are in discussions as to where we go from here which may take a little time. Its not helped with me being away sulking instead i should have taken the opptunity to be in the lounge to observe things rather than dumping everything on TL.:guilty: As ive said i will be there nextweek in some capacity (nobodys on trial!!:dopey:). In the meantime we will continue to work on things behind the scenes any input is welcome so pm away.đź’ˇ Bottom line is we will be trying to find some middle ground between being to soft with things and to harsh its something me and TL both struggle with if we are honest, only Pmac and Spurgy (to an extent) have made it easy so far (cheers lads) although we would like to think they have both come back better for it.:nervous:

Replay's have been watched and pens will be annouced later today 👍

I hear Sep Blatter is on the pitch with a blow torch as we speak so hope so.:)

Sad thing this I genuinely think FIFA would spend millions money enforcing that rather than bring in Goal Line Technology and the such

Race1

Cally dave turn 1 went straight into the back of me which sent me off and damaged my car. didnt wait
Has been warned by myself & jb due to being his 1st race with us.

R35 spun off and on return to track was very un safe as there was no need for it as there was plenty of room to do it safely.
-5 sec penalty

R35 nudged pmac going round a bend which spun him causing him to lose 3-4 places. didnt wait
-10 sec penalty
Race 2

spurgy nudged gokart lap 2 which pushed him off track causing him to fall to last. didnt wait
-10 sec penalty

Haitch's lap 4 incident wasnt bad really at all.

spurgy's was right about his horn in race 2 but he needs to sort it out for next week as its a put off.

in general the run off use was poorly and no need for it.

We will be handing pens out like this from now on for all incidents and we will be looking at corner cuts and run-offs very closely from now on.

I know these pens may seem a bit harsh but this is what its come down to, we want clean respectfull drivers in this series and im sorry to say it but if you dont like it there are plenty of other series out there and we would wish you all luck.

many thanks Gedi69 & V8-johnboy

Would like to add Dave excepted his lashing very graciously something which makes our lives so much easier so thanks Dave 1 or 2 others could learn a thing or two from this.:) If we can all except were gonna screw up now and again things will run a hell of alot better. As Gedi says the pens system will run more frequently from now on as much as we have tried to skirt round it we clearly cant.:guilty: A further 2 stewards are being looked into to aid me and Gedi with any future race incidents obviously its tricky for us to penalise each other for example:lol: dont think its happened but i'd feel rather awkward personally hopefully an announcement should follow soon.:ouch:
Please please dont rant about your penalty here it will do you little good except damage your reputation further. The decision once posted in the thread is final we wont act until we are sure.👍

First Steward signed up thanks Stu.:cheers:

Oh well, not gonna complain about anything knew my name would be coming up at least once, i cant actually remember if i was close to anyone so does that change my outcome in race 1?

Paul you know i love you but fella your name comes up most weeks tbh. I know your driving style is err unique and as long as it was an issue only for me that was fine but others have mentioned it now bud.:nervous: So as its kinda cards on the table time hows about running half a brick rather than a breeze block.đź’ˇ
