There are 2 more very small things that I haven't tried yet, so I'll give those a go in the race room. If they don't work I'll probably follow someone around for a few laps to see where they gain time.

Sorry chaps but I'm not going to be back in time to race tonight. Hopefully be ok for Monaco!

No practice for me, TBH my interest is fading but I'll try and keep on racing 'til the end of the season :(

No pressure penguin, racing when your hearts not in it isnt ideal dont feel you have to show.👍

@ Fingers crossed for nextime Hanc.:nervous:

My night was filled with bad luck and topped off with my mum trying to make me read a sheet. It can wait till the end of the race and I will read it later. Shoves it under my nose then shouts at me for telling her I am busy.

Early Monaco lap from me- 1:35.1

Some unusual gearing lets me do the whole lap in 7th gear, only needing to drop to 6th briefly for exiting the hotel hairpin and la rascasse.

Also beware of the pit exit. It sends you straight across the track and onto the racing line.

How did you manage that? (7th gear thing)

Just taking advantage of where the peak engine power is. The peak torque in the SLS is at 4500rpm, but it still has decent torque slightly earlier in the powerband. This means that 7th gear is good from about 50mph all the way to when it starts to redline at 8000rpm (somewhere between 141 and 145mph).

6th gear does give me slightly better drive until it hits about 80mph (I think this is when it reaches the peak BHP), but you have to be a little more careful on the power since the back wants to step out.

You can use the gears normally, since they still have normal ratios, but using less gears gives you less to think about and less to do. Also makes me a little bit smoother.

Blimey you know your stuff 👍

I mainly do that to make the car a bit more tame under power and for helping tyre wear. It helped a lot in an Indycar series I was in that used a power limited FGT. I was taking corners 1 or 2 gears higher than everyone else, but could get away with it due to the peak power being low in the revs.

It works best on tracks with a low top speed like Monaco or Eiger Short, but it's handy to know for any turn where the back is stepping out more than you want it to.

Edit: it's easier to control the throttle on a wheel, so this may not help wheel users much (I'm on a controller). They can just use the proper gear for the turn and control the power more precisely.

EDIT : New best lap of 1:34.60 using 6th gear more here and there. Very pleased with the time, so don't beat it ;)

I also changed my mind about the potential overtaking spots. There's only 1 that looks safe enough, and it gets narrow very quickly- the tight right hander that's before the hotel hairpin.

Haitch had a problem with his brake pedal last night thats for sure , lol

Ok anything you need looking at give us a shout.👍

134.6 for me teammate so far more there i think havent a clue on the best lines just yet.

Since this is going to be a war of attrition do you all want race 2 a little shorter time wise?💡

Race 1 ~ 11 laps would be 15 minutes.

Race 2 ~ 26 laps would be 36/40 or so minutes for example thoughts?:scared:

Edit 133.8:crazy:
