Fuji division line ups imminent

Huh? Sorry not trying to troll this time just don't know what you mean :dunce:

Strawman Andy
JB is about to list all the drivers 👍

Oh right, just wasn't sure 👍

Thanks for quick reply :P

I really don't like the whole PURE thing either, yes they're all nice guys but there just isn't really a point to it, and there seems to be like 10 different series that have Pure at the start of the title, going by that Furi should put TOCA| at the start of all the series he makes.

Also, when it was first announced it was all secretive and it said 'Invites to be sent out soon' and then they had pretty much a usual (but really fast) driver line-up for them and have an other SuperGT series, which wasn't worth being secretive at all.

Nothing personal, but there is no point in PURE I think.

Also, they take series like way to seriously, the amount of rules in the threads, I can't imagine it's much fun.

A name is a name. The TOCA name has become synonymous (I hope) with tough, hard, racing. PURE is similar. Each series has a brand and reputation. I hastily remind you of "Timezone-gate" when Gedi attempted to get me to change an event over having "BST" in the title .. the BST name was used in the "BST Monaro Cup".

I don't think it's any harm in saying that I got a invite for PURE GT4 having expressed interest in it. GT5 is a game, and I play it for fun. TOCA is set up for fun.

And that brings me round to Gik and JB using the BST brand to help them. It's how things work. And if you stick around long enough, people see your not a one-hit wonder and get in, and you get regular drivers.

That's how PURE, D-MAX and anyone else functions. TOCA had around 7 entries in S1, 12 in S2, 14 in S3 and over 16 in S4, and hopefully same for S5. V8's the same, look at the interst. Branding is important... which is why I want WSM to do well and grow... but I get back on topic.

Everything has a purpose. WSGTC I think function like a real life series, hell they have real prizes on offer, so you'd expect lots of rules and regs, which shows that it run well enough to be organised as such.

In fact I think that shows one thing about V8's. Mondays issue in V8's showed to me that V8's is not perfect, things can be worked on. The two division concept is difficult to pull off and you guys have been incredibly audacious in planning this, and you'll bounce back and learn. You learn from issues.

Right that's my speech done, Furi

But PURE isn't similar, because they are trying to be a sanctioning body, like the FIA, instead of a series, which I don't see a point in since it's a video game. It MAY work for something like iRacing, but GT5, where everybody races instead of stewarding, it's just over-complicating things. That being said, I wouldn't not do a series just because it's PURE, I just fail to see the point.

Yeah that BST argument was BS, remember the brief few days TOCA was calls the International Touring Car Challenge and you had to change cause some other series had that name? :sly:
Where are they now I wonder?

Ok, sorry! Let me apologize firstly before blurbing real quick. Really don't mean to take focus off of the series. In fact, I'll quickly wrap this up by commenting on the series so we're back on track afterward.

But hey akmuq, we're not trying to be the FIA of GTP. This is a title thrown on us by various members of the forum, but it's just not true.

If a series wants to become PURE sanctioned, that means we will lend them support in creating all racing regulations and contingencies as well as provide in-season incident support, helping decide on penalties or disciplinary actions as per series rules, member review, as well as even just answering questions.

We're here to take the stress off of larger series that need help in keeping their large driver pool in line. So this isn't just for any series. We also provide universal GT500 parity racing specifications and plan to offer even more sets of racing homologation spec's in the future across different racing series.

To some it's not just a game. I hope you can see where we're coming from. We take racing extremely seriously and are absolutely not afraid to say so.

Anyway, how's the M3 holding up in the series?
I'm trying to get it up to par along with a few other cars in a series I'm currently drawing up and its quite a conservative car to bring up to snuff.

What're its strong points and weaknesses in your opinions?

Wardez, it sounds like PURE is trying to be like F.I.I.T. is to the tuning challenges. More of a support mechanism and guidance to the events/series. It must be a huge undertaking that is currently made harder by the online being so terrible.

Wardez
...snip...

No offense, you may not be trying to be like the FIA of GTP, but from what you said it seems like you act in similar ways to a governing body.

With that said though, it doesn't effect me in any way, so I have no right weather to say it's a good or bad thing. So keep doing what your doing because to me it seem's like your doing a good thing. 👍

Hi furi I didn't moan about that it was in the title! It was because you used it at the beginning of the title which like you say represents us.

Has ppl done the update? Any good news?

I've lost my gt5 disc was hunting all last night for it.
