Running the cars in properly for testing this time not falling for that one again!!:dunce: Its about 150/170 miles or so btw.:crazy:
 
Here is my take on next season regulation. I haven't tested but its my gut feel.

General things:

- Minimum weight should be increased by about 100Kg. This will make the front heavy cars such as the Jag to handle better by moving more ballast further back.

- Change to racing hard tires. The long race is too much of a tire wear thing, If getting the tires to last one more lap, you have a very big advantage.

Cars:

Its best if all the cars performs in a similar way, ie handles, accelerate, and have a similar top speed. Today I see a couple of exceptions to this.

- There are two cars that handles better than the rest. The Camaro has the best handling but lack top speed. The Vette handles almost as good but has better top speed. These two cars should probably be excluded.

- The Merc is a non event and the Dogde is also bad IMO. Maybe the Dodge will get better with 100kg more ballast as its front heavy.

- Cars to be concidered to be added (haven't tested). Alfa C8, Ferrari 599, and Aston Martin DB9
 
Helpful stuff Johan thank you the Alfa and the C63 Mercedes are being considered. Myself and Gedi have dicided in the last few minutes the Vette and Camaro are 99% gone for S4. We looked at the California and SLS but both have superior downforce advantages so will be considered for the future as both are great cars imo.:drool:
As for the 599 & DB9 are they V8's also we are trying to stick with FR cars.👍

I understand the theory with the weight displacement, hows a car better in the long run carrying 100kg extra weight? I would imagine it would cripple the Lexus for example tyre wear is already an issue with this car wouldnt more weight increase this problem? I was thinking of giving this car a little less if anything.

To get a car to be good it needs to be balanced. All current cars understeer badly in with stock set-up. The best way to cure understeer is to put weight over the rear tires. When limiting to just working with the suspension/LSD to cure a non balanced car the result will be a more twitchy car to drive.

The best way to achieve good tirewear is a balanced car the goes smoothly through the corners. Curing severe understeer with just suspension does not give a smooth car. Also I haven't found the a heavier car to have a big impact on tirewear.

If you look at the last race, the cars with the best tirewear was the Camaro, Vette, and Maserati. They all have the center of gravity further back than the other cars.

I think if you reduce the minimum weight it will have the oposite effect of what you want to have happening. Adding weight will make the different cars more even.

The OP reads "shaken and stired" ..... and no Aston Martin ?
Even if its a V12 its a classical GT car brand.
 
Righto Johan i understand and it makes sense will test the theory, the Dodge for example needs to be around 1600kg's in weight to shift the weight to the back (49/51) but hey im open to a little education.:)
Gedi i was looking at helping the Lexus with the Vette/Camaro in mind maybe its not a problem now.👍

If there are cars that has a slower top speed and faster lap time at the twisty circuit (or the oposite), thats a problem that is hard to solve. If a car has slower top speed and slower lap time (or the oposite), that can potenitally be solved by giving the car a differen HP/weight.

If using RH tires for next season, maybe its a good idea to slow down the cars a bit by giving them lower HP or higher weight (or both).
 
Can any Fords be included? Mustangs are ok, not great. But a Mach 1 would be my choice every time.

Dodge 1420kg ~ 591bhp weight balance 56/44 = 146.2 ~ 5 lap test. (faster than most Q times in S3)
Dodge 1600kg ~ 591bhp weight balance 49/51 = 147.1 ~ 5 lap test.

For what its worth i think you would have beaten us in the Dodge Johan.:lol:

Ive just gone round Tokyo in 139.7 without as much effort as i needed in the Lexus ok i admit supercharger aided:sly: I reckon with a little more Bhp the Charger wouldnt be a bad car atall.:drool:

I still had all the ballast at the rear which with my driving meant my rear tyres wore twice as quick as the fronts. The fact that i was of track at least 8 times and I forgot the line for the first corner didn't help. Took until lap 4 main race before i got back into it.

****e you just reminded me stu I didn't move my ballast forward from race 1 oh poop, you was lucky I forgot nel me old tractor boy!
 
I thought the idea was to put everything at the back weight wise god i am a thicko then?!:dunce::dunce::ouch:

Or is it the 45/55 split in the toadster thats the issue.?
 
I had the ballast all the wya back for both races. I did increase rear ridehight by 4 clicks and moved the brakebalance a bit more forward for the second race.

Driving the second race, I was later on the throttle out of the corners (especially the right hand ones) and shortshifting on the lower gears. In the end of each stint I think I had about 5% more wear on the rear over front.

Yippee!! Thats exactly what i did ith the Lexus for race 2 all be it 3 clicks for rear ride height:tup: Oh and racing mediums still unsure how that worked out yesterday.:dopey:
