A big THANKS to ceiling-fan tonight. I was so horrible, it was truly quite sad.

I still have no idea what showtime is, and need to set one event to unlock the trophy. Also don't know how to get a 3x or 5x multiplier, or whatever it is. It's hard to properly play game you don't have the manual for.

:lol: I'm pretty sure I'm just like you if not worse. I have no clue how to get any of those things. All I know is that showtime you are supposed to crash and roll around alot... which sooo goes against my driving habbits in video games.... heck I'll even come to a stop and wait for the light to turn green in GTA... and I'm not kidding! :odd:


I could use some help myself, especially with these online trophy challenges.
 
Any time you catch me online, I'd be happy to help out. In the Stunt run, you get X multipliers for combining various stunts. For instance, on the South Bay Expressway if you hit the the middle jump (onto the top of the bridge, smashing a billboard) you get a 2x multiplier. If you link stunts together (just blip the boost button to give you more time) you can log more multipliers for the run. My best yet, is a stunt run with 49x. I amassed more than 5million points in that one run.

For the 3x burnout you have to use a "speed" class car. Take one and head to I-88 and run in oncoming traffic. Hold the boost button (don't use the accelerator and the Boost) as it's easier to control the speed. When you use up the boost, it'll recharge giving you a 2x (and so on).

I've only got 48 online challenges left to accomplish, so I'm always lookinng for people to run with.

I already have the Invite Friend trophy, ceiling-fan helped me with that, so I'll just wait for you invite if I'm online. 👍

OK, that's super convenient for me. I thought I missed the opportunity to play online with you guys. I had a lot of work and TV shows to watch, so it works out for me.

I waited around 3 to 4PM PCT but had to start dinner. After dinner, I checked some email and then watched some shows, feeling I was supposed to do something. After a short while, I ended up taking a nap for an hour. Watched more TV and then realized I was going to play Burnout Online and checked my PS3 and it said you had just logged of 17 minutes ago.

I hope I don't forget tomorrow. 👍
 
I was only online for a moment to check my messages, so you didn't miss much. I don't have to work tomorrow, so I should be online tonight.
 
It was nice playing with you, DA! Too bad my driving skills with the limited cars I own isn't very good. Your car was a sweet, nimble thing and I was boating around in a barge. Next time, I'll pick a more nimble car. :)

I had to quit 'cause I was getting motion sick. :sick: :yuck: Too much time in the parking structure; no horizon to settle my stomach. :sick:

I don't know if the trophy for 'Complete 10 Timed Challenges' can be achieved with 2 player online timed challenges as well timed races offline, but that is what I was hoping to acquire. I had to do those challenges, anyway. I need 5-10 to complete. Next time we play, I'll accomplish the challenge we were last attempting. I practiced it offline after my stomach settled.

Oh, and for the second time, somebody I was playing with online Burnout Paradise got deleted from my 'Friend List.' I thought I accidentally deleted you, but don't remember doing so, to be honest. I requested to add you back.

It was indeed fun. The car I was driving was the Jansen P12 Track Package. You can obtain it fairly early on, by winning the Jansen P12, and then winning the Burning route in that car to get the Track Package version. The Platinum finish you get when you win 100%.

As for the challenge, I could easily have switched to a different challenge. Yes, the Trophy can be won with any set of challenges. In addition, you get a nice car for winning two sets of timed challenges. Or it might be freeburn challenges.

And the request has been granted. Tonight, I'll not be online, as I'm off to the gym in a bit, and then Miss_DA is is absconding with the TV and PS3 for Little Big Planet.

It just so turns out I won the Jensen P12 early this morning. What a difference this car makes! I also got the Montgomery GT 2400.

I just found out I haven't been doing 'Burning Routes' and just started. Got the trophy for that one. I have yet to do a single 'Burning Rides' or 'Midnight Rides' which I understand are also 'timed' races.

Off the top of my head, I still need trophies for the following...


  • Find all Events
  • Find All Car Parks
  • Send Mugshot/Smugshot
  • 100% Bike License
  • Earn A License
  • Earn Burnout License
  • Earn 10 Timed Events
 
i recently picked this game up. it's been taking up my time now instead of gt5p which i got a bit bored of unless i know a friend is gonna be on there.

been playing for a couple of weeks and just got my burnout lisc. but got a looong way to go. are there just 2 bikes in this game? i'm only at 30% or so with the bikes and still another 103 events till the elite lisc.
 
There are 4 bikes in the game. You've got the two, now you've got to do the burning route.

Solid_lifters, I used the Jansen to complete most of the game. It is a very "user friendly" car and is quite capable.

I haven't won the Burning Route version of it yet, despite trying several times. You cannot crash once; I always crash at least once, somewhere. I use the RR tracks, then the last stretch of road, to get there.

I just found all the 'Events' in town, giving me the trophy for it. I still have "Find All The Car Parks" which must be the Parking Garages, if I'm not mistaken?

I did more "Timed Challenges" but still didn't get the gold trophy for the "Complete 10 Timed Challenges." I'm still not 100% sure what 'Timed Challenges" they're referring to.

I want that trophy, but after I find all the Billboards, which I'm now shooting for by tomorrow evening. The boys are going to help with it, tomorrow, so don't feel rejected if your invite goes unanswered. Heh.
 
hey guys im finally picking this game up (tomorrow) and I wanted to know about the new update coming out... Is it going to be free like the previous ones? Also I'd like to know what this is all about?

timed challenges are the ones that well..... are time challenges the hosts start online.

i THINK the ultimate box just includes the free update, not 100% sure. the new update thats coming soon is paid i believe as well.
 
The next update called party pack, wont be free. I kinda think that is ok.

Criterion games they already put out a lot of free stuff. So its ok they now start to charge, I just hope it wont be to expensive.

The ultimate box, is a burnout package wich will include the party package.

Well I have no idea about the price.

Unless you are on a relly low budget, id say get it now, the game is really good, so id say get it now, and then buy the DLC later if you want it.

Also there is lots of content already released if you plan to do 100 % its going to take quite a while, if you are a moderate gamer.

You are correct in the timeline. I've been working on my current game since May 08. I worked through many of the online challenges before I'd hit 100%, so my timeline isn't exact.

As of yesterday, I am down 7 online challenges left. 2-5player, 3-7player, and 2-8player challenges.

After that, I have been entertaining the idea of restarting and picking up all the trophies that I should have. The trophies were introduced after I had a good selection of the game done.

If you're picking it up now, its a great game that is alot of fun. The online portion can be aggravating, as it takes some time to get a good group of racers online at the same time. You'll get some players that want to do nothing more than amass takedown, and forget the challenges.

Overall, I've enjoyed this game almost as much as GT3. Not quite, but almost.

If you restart you could copy your save game to a safe place, then restart and get the trophies. Platinium isent that hard to get as it dosent require 100 %. You can do it in a few days, especially since you must know your way around the game already.

Then after you are done with the trophies copy your near 100 % complete game back, and you are done.
 
I hear its like warhawk tho? you have to be signed into the account you bought it off in order to play it?

I've got 71% of the trophies on BP but the one for 'Get Three Takedowns' still hasn't been awarded when I've got over 300? I downloaded the trophy patch before I even started playing the game so I'm unsure on what the problem could be as I have over 400 takedowns?

If it is just a glitch, just copy your current game save, either to another user on your PS3, or to a USB thumb drive. Then start a new game and just focus on getting the 'Perform 3 Takedowns' bronze trophy. It's very easy to do, as you know already. If even then, it still won't give you a trophy for it, then you know you have some other problem. I suspect though it will give you the trophy. After that, just copy back your old game save and off you go. 👍

This works, as earned trophies are not tied to a game save, but tied to the user ID. 👍
