Yep, as soon as you buy the cars (DLC), they are available for you to drive instantly. ;)
Thanks. Not that it matters with the unlock all cars DLC pack.

Two things I noticed on their site:

1) Looking at their Super Jump videos I saw they were clearly controlling barrel rolls and stopping them before they landed. How?

2) From their FAQ:
People are telling me that Planes are coming, is this true?

Check for an exciting announcement on April 1.
That's their way of saying it's a joke, right? Obviously I haven't paid any attention to this game before now.

yes, you can pull out of the barrel roll by pushing the stick in the other direction. Spinning right? Go left and you'll pull out of it.

Still not working, is there a specific forum I can go to?
forum.ea.com would be the first place to start. EA games supposedly reads that site.

As all three of us have some online challenges to complete, I'd like to see if we can schedule a meet up online. My only free time is between 8am and 4pm on this Saturday. Drop me a PM here if you're ready to go online, as I get almost instant notification on my Phone. I'll pop the PS3 and be ready to go. Since restarting the game, I've got to get the trophy for online events. And I've got 5 online challenges left to finish for all 490.

Great! The more people the better. What's your timezone? I need to make sure I'm available at that time before confirming anything.

Well, we'll just have to wait and see. It's certainly possible to add planes to a car racing game. Somehow I doubt it though, since I've read somewhere that the Island & Cops n Robbers DLC will be the last. Criterion, prove me wrong :D. Maybe we'll even have boats, trains and spaceships after that .

Boston, Massachusetts, USA. -5 GMT. RIght now, its 9:51am (0951) in Boston Mass. It is 1:51pm (1351) in London and 11:51pm in Brisbane (2351). Its already Thursday (0051) in Sydney.

I used: http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/ to figure that out.

I think with the date being April 1st, its a joke. Although, I'd love to see them alter the physics of the game for one day.

Dang, that makes it 11 pm to 7 am here. In that case I'll be available from 8 am to 11 am (your timezone). Also, can I be the one sending the invitation in-game? I need to get the trophy for that as well. And can we do the bikes challenges too? I want to get 101%.

The Missus leaves for work between 7and 7:30am my time. I'll log on after she leaves, and as soon as you see me online, drop an invite and I'll join in. I'd like to do at least one car timed challenge to get the Hawker Mech Trophy. At that point, we can certainly switch to the bikes.

In addition, I'll have my Camera on, so I'd like to get the Smugshot trophy as well.

I've completed the all the bike trophies, so feel free to set it to invite online, and we can hammer through as many as you want.

See you then.

Planes are coming, I can tell you that now. On the website they had a video up for a few days about upcoming updates or something like that, I can't remember, but I do remember seeing in game footage of a plane flying around Paradise, so they wouldn't of made that just for the video.

No problem. After all, I also need to get the Hawker Mech trophy (and a few other cars' trophy as well). My plan is to finish 2 sets of cars freeburn challenges (to get Carbon Uberschall) and 2 sets of bikes challenges (to get 101% completion). After that I'll go for the trophies if time permits.

Hi. :)
I would to know about the requirement of getting that Carbon Uberschall. Is it to be unlocked after completing all challenges online? including both timed and freeburn challenges?! :dunce:

It is unlocked after completing two sets of freeburn challenges. So basically, the 2 and 3 person Online challenges.

I had a good round of challenges this morning with Legend. Thanks! With the exception of a few racers that joined near the end. I've never really liked the people that jump into an online game simply to take out other people. Frequently, when hosting a challenge, I'll often kick any players that join and have 0 challenges completed and multiple takedowns.

On a good note, I managed a handful of trophies this morning. The 750 mile trophy (I restarted to get the trophies), The Smugshot Trophy, and the Hawker Mech trophy. I've got the GT Nighthawk 3x boost chain trophy to get, "Find all events" (I'm missing one), and the Party Pack trophies to go. At that point, I'll pick up the Elite Trophy. This means I'm only a few steps away from finishing. And only 5 online challenges to complete to finish in the game entirely. Until Cops N Robbers and The Island.

Yeah it was great until people started coming in and not participating :grumpy:. I feel bad for kicking out people but I guess if you do it I'll do it as well. Some players were ok though. I guess I'm still not yet accustomed to online gaming experiences.

On the brighter side, I managed to get quite a lot of trophies as well. Online Marked Man, Road Rage, Stunt Run. Light up Manhattan. Complete 10 Freeburn Challenges and a few more I think. I might start a new game today to get the non-backward compatible trophies.

Also, why can't I hear what you said Der Alta (and other players for that matter)? Whenever I saw the speech bubble beside your name I only get a static buzz on my TV speakers and the in-game sound (engine, crashes, etc) is muted. Do I need a headset as well? It's frustrating not being able to listen to anything. I guess you can still send a message but it takes ages to type with the DS3.

I see. Thanks again. :)

That's why when I play online with my friends, I usually set the access to "friends only" or "invite only". ;) Last time I nearly got the trophy of having 8 players meeting up in the Wildcat Baseball Stadium, but it ended up people taking each other down inside the stadium and a few of them even don't bother to meet up there. :grumpy:

I've got a handful of trophies this morning playing with my friend as well.
I've won the Online Stunt Run, Online Road Rage on both Blue/Red team, Online Marked Man, Complete 10 Timed Challenges, Using all the 3 boost types of Hawker Mech in a timed challenge and Completing a timed challenge in a toy bike. :D

The only trophies I'm missing now (before getting the Platinum Trophy of the game) is the 8 players meetup in Wildcat Baseball Stadium and to set 10 Showtime road rules. :)

By the way, I have a question regarding one of the 2-player freeburn challenge (it's like the 1x th or so). It was about jumping across the river in the Quarry using a ramp. I don't understand which exactly is the ramp I need to jump from and therefore my friend and I were stuck at that challenge this morning. :indiff:

ps:

To Der Alta and LeGeNd-1: would you mind me adding your PSN(s) for playing Burnout together? :) I don't have enough friends to play this game together, and I would like to complete the 2- or 3-players freeburn challenges with you guys if you don't mind. :p

Regarding the Aeroplane 1st April joke, I remember watching an early video podcast from the Burnout team stating that they wanted to implement aeroplanes into the game, accompanied with some early aeroplane footage. It was the around the time that they first announced bikes into the game too.

Der Alta - in regards to the Platinum/ Elite trophy, you only need the 750 miles and the Find All Events I think. Its because all the other ones are DLC, and the Platinum Trophy is just for the requirements that originally shipped with the game, rather than the newer stuff. Don't hold me to it if I'm wrong :D

Do all of you mind if I add you and play on Burnout online? None of my friends have the game, and its a bit hard to find a game with guys who actually want to do the challenges rather than take everyone down every 5 minutes!! :D

Thanks,

Super_Spig

@ Super_Spig

Feel free to add my PSN (andrewyhy) mate. :D
I'm always looking for players that plays fairly. ;)

This is the conveyor belt that goes up through a building, and launces you through a Billboard, and back into a building on the down side.

Absolutely, feel free to add me in, as I'm always looking for people interested in completing the challenges. I've got a 5 player timed, three 7 player, and one 8 player left to complete all 490 online challenges.

Does anyone know of a list of where all the events are located? I'm having trouble finding the last one. I've reviewed the map and driven through all the intersections I can find that don't have an event already. I'd love to find a full map though. [edit]nevermind, one of my previous links has exactly what I'm looking for.

Ah, I remembered I've played this challenge before (a year ago when the game 1st came out), and at that time I got lost and confused, exactly the same as what I'm feeling now.

and wow, you must have been playing this game really seriously! I can't even imagine when will it be for me to complete all those 490 challenges. :p

For maps, I've found an interactive map, which is quite useful indeed. It lets you to select what type of stuff you'd like to display and can zoom in and out of the map. 👍

Well, it's been since May of last year, that I've been working on this game. I've been working on the last 10 challenges since nearly December. Since I already had most of the challenges done when they released the Trophies, I missed a few. I recently backed up my game, and did a restart to pick up the misc. trophies I had missed. At this time, I've only got two more trophies to pick up before I reload my original game.

The next one is 10 timed challenges. I've finished one (Thanks Legend!) of the 2 player, so only have 9 more to go. After that, I'll dump this game and pick up the X3 Boost chain in the GT Nighthawk. At that point, I'll have only the Party Pack trophies to claim.

This morning, I used the senocular link and found that I was missing one Burning Route. A quick drive through that, and I picked up the "Find all Events" trophy. That was the last of the original Trophies (DLC excluded), so I was awarded the Burnout Paradise Elite Trophy.

Only a few more steps.... Which then garners the question... Do I start running more Ranked Races" online? or finish Little Big Planet?

I've been playing this game since last year when it first released but stopped playing it for quite a long time since there were too many other great titles popping out, like Grand Theft Auto IV and Metal Gear Solid 4. :p

I used to own all 75 cars for the original car pack in my old game save, but as I want to get those trophies, I decided to restart the game once again these days. And the toy cars look really attracting to me, so I bought them all together with the Legendary GT Nighthawk and Hawker Mech. :)

I think when we meet up online, I may help you out for those 9 (or more if you're interested) timed challenges. ;)

Congratulations to you mate!
I was trying to get that "8 players meeting at Wildcat Baseball Stadium" trophy today but no luck, there were only 7 players (including myself) in my game room.

Well, can't you play both games at the same time? I mean you can switch between the two games to suit your mood. :D

I would like to meet online to do some online challenges. I actually haven't gone online with Burnout and I'd like to.

To Super_Spig & andrewyhy: Of course you can add me to your friends list. I'm looking for as much clean racers as possible to help me complete the challenges (2 sets of each car and bike at least).

On a sidenote, I've restarted the game and got all of the non-backward compatible trophies. The only trophies left for me to do are the online ones. Here's hoping Criterion release the Island & Cops DLC soon, otherwise I'll have nothing to do offline . Oh well, back to GT5P again for now.

Hi Jonesy! Glad to see you here. :D
Feel free to send an invite to me when you go online in Burnout. ;)

I've still got plenty of 3-player challenges haven't done yet. Let's do them together! :D

If you are up for it, I'll be online on Saturday Morning. Tween Work and the home life, I'll not have free time tilll then.

And the missus just bought Call of Duty: World At War. That'll cramp any free PS3 time for a bit :(

Well, is your time zone at -5 GMT? My local time (Hong Kong) is +8 GMT, so if it's Saturday morning on your side, it should be Saturday night here (which I can hardly play any games at that time as my family needs to watch TV for the rest of the night ). How about Saturday night (your time)? :)

I'd love to, but the missus arrives home from work at 4pm-ish on Saturday, and she'll be ready for some Call of Duty that night. Which means roughly 6+ hours of her gaming. I can be on from Noon till she gets home though. That should put it at 1am to 5am+/- your time.

When you get ready, drop me a PM here, and I gets those in a few minutes. PM notification to my email, email forwards to Blackberry in minutes. I'll jump on line as soon as you're ready.

Let's see if we can meet up next weekend then. My dad will be playing GT on Saturdays' midnight till the next morning, so I'm afraid I can't play Burnout at that time. But there's still some hope though. :p Hope that we can figure out a time which suits both of us. ;)

ps: We'll be having public holidays on 2 consecutive Saturdays in April (here in Hong Kong), will it be possible for you to stay up till late at night next Friday? :)

I could be convinced easy enough. Load up on the NOS and No-Doz and give it a go.

Also, I was pondering doing that This Friday, after the missus goes to bed. Catch a few winks while she was Killing People, and then play after she got done. If you catch me online, feel free to join in.

I'd love to join you if I were available on this Saturday (Friday night of your side), but I've got part-time work to do on Saturdays. And that's why I'm trying to arrange a time to join you next week my friend. Hope you won't mind the trouble caused by me. :nervous:

It has got custom sountracks!

You find it by pressing right to go into Easy Drive, then scroll right down to the bottom to soundtracks, then right and select custom soundtracks.

It took my ages to find it :ouch:

Hope that helps,
