I think you may have also sent me an invite last night, I'm not 100% sure because it was far later than I should have been up in a work night and I was finally getting around to finishing my bike licence.

I didn't send the invite. Seems to be that anytime we start up the game it will automatically pop up that easy drive screen that allows us to invite any of our friends that are online.

I am pushing some late nights playing myself. 👍

I also looked through my trophies of which I am at 73%. I was saddened to see that some very simple trophies like smashing through my first billboard and my first super jump are not unlocked. Anyone else have this issue?

Did you start playing before they added the patch for trophies?

If so, copy your save file to a USB drive or even an other PSN account on your machine (if they aren't account locked) and then start a new game. Once you get those trophies reload your current save file and continue on.

FoolKiller is right. I was in the same situation. Keep in mind, that there is an additional hiccup with the 3X boost chain in the Nighthawk. If you do the regular Boost Chain trophy, you'll have to restart again to get the Nighthawk trophy.

I had to follow FK's plan as well, when they released the trophies.

They may have fixed this glitch with the Island update. I got the Nighthawk 3X boost trophy after I had my platinum. I gave it a try fully intending for it to not work.

I thought I started playing this game a bit late so I would have figured them to be out already. Hey...even a super gamer like myself can miss a few every now and then.

Speaking of coping game save files. I copied my LBP save file from one user name to another and I get a message that states I can no longer collect trophies on that new copy. Wickity wickity wack if you ask me.👎

I'll trust that since you guys have already done it that it won't happen to my burnout save.:nervous:

I just ponied up to get the Nighthawk last night and got the tropy on the first try.

Well, you won't be changing accounts to get the trophies, just starting a whole new game, so even if the files locked trophies to specific PSN accounts you would be putting your original save file back on the account it belongs to.

Wow, I just left this thread for a few days and it has grown by a few pages. Anyway, when are you guys usually online? I never seem to see anybody here online when I am, maybe it's because of the time zones (I'm in Oz and most of you are in US/UK). Since I'm already finished with the game I'm only helping others with online challenges now, but it's really hard to get into a good room these days. With fellow GTPers I'm sure it'll be much more cooperative when doing challenges.

Speaking of online, have any of you encountered any 'trickers' while playing BP? I've got 4 occassions now when some random guy just sent me a message to try and get my credit card account. He doesn't state it out loud, more like "If I give you this will you give me this etc" or "Can you please let me download *insert DLC name* using your account" It ruins the fun online gameplay IMO. I usually quits right away when that happens. Maybe I'm too paranoid, but you can't trust anyone on the internet these days...

So enough of that stuff. I've just discovered that the Extreme Hot Rod has moveable rear wings! When it's not boosting you can see that it has an almost flat angle, but when you boost it raises quite steeply. Pretty cool if you ask me, since it's not as obvious as the Nighthawk's spoiler.

Yeah, the only times I see Australian people on my Friends list online are when I am up way later/earlier than I should be.

I had it happen once from a self-proclaimed trophy whore. I just said, "Uh...no." He said OK and we continued on.

I've kicked a couple of people off my friends list who have sent me messages requesting it. It gets annoying, mainly because one no isn't enough to get the message across. And why would you discuss questionably legal practices of obtaining PSN games on the PSN? Obviously these guys are exactly smart either.

I haven't crossed paths with any one like that. It would seem that they'd target younger people in an attempt to get the number and rack up some charges for themselves.

I was on for a bit this morning, and got frustrated. I helped out one person knock off 11 challenges. We were knocking them out fairly fast and I figured this would be good to waste away a few hours. We finish the 11th challenge, and he'd at 78/500. He then starts using me to wrack up takedowns. Took about three hits while I sat still and watched him aim for me.

Well, I finally took the plunge and bought myself a usb camera to get the 2 remaining trophies. I bought the Microsoft Livecam (not X360 cam, just normal PC webcam) for $20 and...........it didn't work. The PS3 recognizes it since it shows up in the XMB, but the game obviously didn't, since when I got taken down nothing happens, even if I have enabled the camera in the Options. Distraught, I traded it in for a PS Eye (also spending another $60 in the process) and it works first time round. What a marketing BS for Sony. On the good side though...Trophies 100% Complete :D.

I'm exactly the same as you do... my only trophy left is to send a Smug/Mugshot to another player during an online play.. my Microsoft webcam works in XMB but not in-game.. :ouch: I'm considering to buy the PS Eye, but it seems rather costly to buy a hardware just to get that single trophy. :indiff:

Yeah, I feel for you man. Criterion really should have put more thought on this trophy. Clearly not everyone has a PS Eye or want/able to buy one.

I didn't have a camera, so the logical step for me was to buy a PS Eye.
It seems like a bit of a partnership between Sony and Criterion to get more sales, whilst saying that most other camera's 'should' work, but being vague about which ones do.

In other news, it seems that the Criterion Games website has gone awfully quiet, suggesting that all Burnout DLC has been released and that they are shifting focus onto a new game (NFS?!)

I apologise to anyone who has been looking out for me online, as I have been in a Killzone 2 mood lately.
If you do want to race online, PM me here and I should be able to come online, the joys of no more college still September! :D

Yeah, it's just another Sony trick to get more people to buy their PS Eye :grumpy:. Sad to say I'm one of those 'tricked' people, but at least I can now sleep peacefully at night without worrying that I might never get Platinum . From reading other BP forums, it seems that the only cameras that work is the PS Eye (PS2/3 versions) and the XBOX Live Cam.

I noticed this as well, there's no more Crash TV episodes coming out, and the News page is just filled with old rehashed stuff. I'm 100% sure there won't be any more DLC (there goes my dream of having planes in Paradise), but we might still see a final V2.0 patch to fix all of the remaining glitches. I'd rather they focus on the next Burnout game instead of the next NFS though.

Lucky for you. I'm starting school again tomorrow so my gaming life will, again, take a backseat (Year 12, you all know what it's like).

Look at the two things I highlighted. They do not work together. It is not a case of a Sony trick, rather Criterion being too lazy, or too time pressed, to build in support for anything but the camera with support already included in the firmware. They relied on the console to make the camera connection when they could have spent a bit of extra time adding in support for Logitech webcams.

As for the problem of having a PS Eye to get platinum: Burnout is not alone. Singstar has four trophies that necessitate a PS Eye. Technically it is one, but you won't have 100 audio samples listened to or given high marks, unless you draw people to your profile with a quality video.

Of course, SingStar also requires real singing talent to get platinum too.

How could I have missed that contradiction :dunce:. You're right though, it's more Criterion being lazy. But I still can't help think that Sony plays at least a minor part in this, otherwise those two trophies won't be in the game.

Didn't know that. Must be a pain to get those trophies then.

At the moment I'm just in need of the following four Burnout online trophies:

Bronze - Invite a friend to join you in Paradise City; Complete a Freeburn Challenge; 8 Players meet in the Wildcats' Baseball Stadium
Silver - Complete 10 Freeburn Challenges

So, if anyone fancies helping me out with these - to be honest I find the game's online mode mind-numbingly confusing (I thought I was doing a Freeburn Challenge but, since I didn't get a trophy for it, I assume I wasn't. And then a race happened) - please let me know.

Feel free to add me Famine (or anyone else on this thread for that matter) 👍. Those trophies should be fairly easy to get, except maybe the 8 players meet. Regarding the online mode, I was also lost when I first went online (just ask Der Alta lol), but eventually you'll get used to it, Easy Drive is you friend. When starting a challenge, make sure you pick Freeburn (2nd choice) instead of Timed (1st choice) to get the trophy.

I would be happy to help out if you need me. (When I get back from work, 19.00hrs)

I was just playing something that seems to be a "Freeburn Challenge" - everyone had to go somewhere to do something, then everyone had to go somewhere else to do something else - but there was always one member of the party too stupid to read the text on the bottom of the screen.

This sound right?

If it's a 2 part challenge then it's Timed Challenge, not Freeburn. In Freeburn Challenge you only need to do one task. Easy way to confirm: look at top left of your screen, if there's a clock, it's Timed. No clock means Freeburn.

As for the player who doesn't participate, he/she may either be a) a noob (in which case you should probably help him/her by pointing out what to do) or b) a non-LMP (non-Like Minded Player, in which case you should kick him because he/she will only be a nuisance and drive you nuts).

Yeah, that sounds about right.

Disclaimer: Sorry if I offend anyone. The above comment is meant to be part factual, part sarcasm.

I am willing to bet Sony and Microsoft both played a small role in this, at least to the degree that Criterion wanted to keep them happy. The only issue I really have is that the description does not specifically say which camera and so people wind up buying third-party cameras.

I am at 20% and until I have a huge party with a lot of duet and battle singing going on I doubt I will get anymore. I took one look and realized that a platinum wasn't going to happen, so I never tried.

The only reason I have a PS3 Eye is for LBP. The fact that two other games use it is a bonus.

To get everything but the Wildcats Stadium trophy you should host. You can set it to Friends or Invite only and that way you know they are reasonable and helpful. That way you get the inviting a friend one and can control your challenge types. If you manage to get 8 friends on at once then you can get the Wildcats Stadium trophy too. The online is a tad confusing at first. I suspect if you started at launch it made more sense as there wasn't as much stuff.

Was there a timer? This could have been either a Freeburn or a Timed Challenge. Using headsets aids in the one person in your party not knowing what to do thing. You can talk them through it. When hosting on your own you can also kick any uncooperative players.

There wasn't a timer until the first person arrived at wherever it was we were going.

I've just done a bunch of things on bikes which only had one goal - but it turns out they're Bike Challenges, even though they're Freeburn Challenges... *head-desk-head-desk*

Yeah, when a timer starts after you reach the first location in the challenge it is a timed challenge.

Like I said, it can be confusing for those of us who didn't get it at launch. I often forgot that bikes were a free add-on and so their stats are completely separated from the main set of trophies. After initially figuring that out I didn't touch bikes until I had my Burnout License and was only one trophy (Wildcat Stadium) short of platinum.

If it had a timer, that means you would be doing a Timed Challenge.

Hehe, I was online last night, and even dropped you a PM. You could have picked up one of your trophies right then.

If you're at home now, I'll pop on right now and you can drop me an invite and take care of that one. In fact, I've got about an hour of free time if you want to knock a fewof them off. Just have to make a Breakfast shake first.

Well, thanks to DA, I'm only the Wildcats Stadium 8-way meet short of my Platypus. So... Who wants to help? :D

I can help on that one if you like - Not doing anything Friday/Saturday evening this weekend.

C.

Feel free to add me if you need anything completed online, I’ll be playing this for a few weeks, usually during the day and early evenings. (I can’t believe I haven’t posted in this thread previously)
