I knew my advice wasn't bad.

I didn't think it ever was. I thought I was the one missing a step in the process.

I also need to refresh my skills.

Playing Burnout has developed some bad habits for sure. You just can't save a sideways slide in GT like you can in Burnout. Easy on the throttle there young man....easy....

I was afraid it may have been since I haven't had to move a save file for Burnout.

Fortunately I have a wheel.

Just spied this in the wiki...

But if you stay wrecked, wouldn't you stay...well...wrecked? So you can't do anything even if no one takes you down. Kinda defeats the point IMO.

OK…here is what went down.

My bases for thinking I had lost my game save was the fact that at the criterion website login screen I could see that my license percentage was at 0%. When I saw that over the weekend I was so deflated that I just shut it off. As I dug into things last night I figured that I could still play online with the cars I had purchased. As I loaded all the DLC, something magical happened…It was ALL there! All 450 freeburn challenges that I’ve done and my elite license are still safe and sound.

It appears that the website portion needed to have a game save event happen before it showed that my original copy was properly reloaded back on my user name.

Glad you sorted it out :).

Another side effect of all this is that I put GT5P back in to relieve some stress. Holy crap did I get rusty over the last few months. I’ll be putting some time back in that seat to get ready for GT5.

For me it's the opposite, GT5P is my main game and I only play BP to relieve stress . Strangely, even after a long stint without playing GT5P I'll always be a bit quicker than I was before. Maybe it's because the game feels 'fresh' again (GT5P gets quite boring after 1 week of non-stop playing for me) and I'm motivated to actually drive fast rather than just driving.

I don't know - that comment was in regard to people seeing "invunerable" people sometimes!?

Probably. I thought it was a bit strange when I read it.

If you want to avoid getting taken down easily though, use the Nighthawk (Toy or Normal), it's 80% takedown proof. If you don't mind driving something slower, use the Hunter Olympus. It's 99% takedown proof :D.

Not sure I've got the Nighthawk yet - only midway through the A licence (not had it long and not played it extensively - I bought FF7 at the same time and have just finished it (something I didn't get round to doing on the original) - so might devote more time to Burnout in the coming weeks - until Batman gets posted through my door that is!!

C.

The Nighthawk is a DLC car. So you can buy it and use it straight away. The Hunter Olympus Governor comes with Big Surf Island (another DLC), but there is a slightly slower normal Olympus which you can get for free if you go online. Just go to a junkyard online, select 'Online Cars' and there it is! There's also another bonus car, Rai-Jin Turbo, which is a Porsche 911 Turbo/Nissan GT-R look-alike. Very fast, but no boost. Another one of my favourites :D.

BTW if you're thinking of finishing the online challenges (a whopping 500 of 'em), feel free to add me 👍.

Legend got it 100%. ;)
I'm at 92%, with Platinum, excluding the DLC Party pack. :)
I have all of them with the exception of the Party Pack. Just can't justify "buying" the last set of trophies I can get.
I still need same help guys with challenges, i have 90 left to get to 500.
I've been inundated with work and family and as such I don't get on often. If you're headed online, let me know, and I'll see if I can join up. Doesn't matter what time, as I have really odd hours anyways.

I'll add a few of you guys tonight - and will probably be having a bash tonight too - especially as there is bugger all on the gogglebox at the moment!!!

I acceped your request, but not sure if I can get on tonight. Probably be better for me at the weekend.

Has anyone got 100% of the trophys on this game because that would be quite an acheivement with 98 of them?

There's a lot, but most of them aren't that hard. Heck, I think the only hard ones are the License Trophies. The others are pretty straightforward. BUT there are 2 annoying trophies which require you to have a PS Eye to get them. So if you haven't got one already then it might prevent you from getting 100%.

We had a nice, short session yesterday. Shame you had to leave early. Otherwise we'd have knocked off a fair few of those challenges. I'll try to get online in BP if I have the chance, but there's so much going on in my life at the moment (nothing bad thankfully) that I'm finding it hard to find time to sit down and enjoy BP.

BTW who here besides me likes to drive underdog cars? When I'm online I always pick the least popular car because I'm just tired of seeing people in the same few cars over and over again. And it gives me a challenge too because these cars are ususally hard to drive/not that good in stunts etc. Yesterday for example, I'm using the Revenge Racer. Was quite a challenge trying to barrel roll it through the grey aircraft fuselage in the Airfield :D.

Well that sucks big balls...

Yes indeed, I was stuck and couldn't get the Platinum Trophy because of the bloody Smugshot trophy. And recently I went to buy a PS Eye and finally got the game Platinum.

Downloaded the demo of this yesterday. Quite enjoyed it. However, the game with all the DLC packs is something like £40+, and know I've just read that you can't 100% the trophies without a PS Eye.

Doesn't surprise me with any EA title though. The base version is £24.99 on PSN. It might get added to my list of games, not going to be buying too many of those DLC packs though. Aren't there four of them?

How about a little advice to help me get 100% for the game? I currently sit at 99.5% with only these achievements left.

10X boost
20X boost
40X stunt run

Give a brother some advice on cars and locations to make these last three things happen.

Also…I am seemingly stuck on 454 of 500 online challenges. This weekend was full of jerks not wanting to help out.

If I recall, any stunt boost car will work going the wrong way (oncoming) on I-88. Hold down the boost, but do not use the gas so that you can control it a bit easier.

EDIT: I said stunt, but I realize it may be Speed boost car.

It took me almost a month to finally get those last few challenges. Good luck.

Stunt Run write-up. and on the page following that one, you'll find this one.

For the Boost, I used the Kreiger WTR going the wrong way around I-88. As others have noted, once moving use just the boost button and not the accelerator. You'll have less speed making the car easier to control. I've also found that you can tap the brakes while holding the boost button. This will slow you down slightly giving you a bit more control without stopping the boost. The WTR also builds Boost very fast helping you maintain the Boosting.

Hummm….I hadn’t thought to do it using billboard jumps. It seems safer then doing a barrel roll on a 30x run.

I was also using the Kreiger because of it’s short boost length. I hadn’t tried boost only. Those are the kind of tips I was looking for. Thanks guys.

Even better, flat spin through a Bill Board jump can garner alot of X's. You get an X for going through it in reverse, another for the Air Time, another for the Billboard, another for the Flatspin, and another for the Super Jump. 5X on one jump.

The Super Jump off Reed lane, I've managed a 13x. I hit the super jump, in reverse, with the back of my car on the higher part of the ramp. Air Time, Super Jump, Reverse, 2x flatspin, triple barrel Roll and a few other bonuses to really pull it together.

I did the 10 and 20x boost with the PCPD Special on the I88 in oncoming traffic, I tried the SI-7 because I figured the fact it's the slowest speed boost car would make it the easiest, but in fact the handling of the PCPDS made it much easier than you'd expect, you just need to concentrate and don't rely on using the walls- some stick out a bit for you to crash into. Also if it helps, I went around it clockwise, since most of the turns are right handers and going clockwise means you're on the outside for most of them, therefore they're not as tight. There are exceptions to that, obviously.

For the 40x stunts, seeing as how I hate doing stunt runs, I took my time. The train station depo thing is a good place; a few billboards, a super jump, split ramps for barrel rolls... In fact the 40th multiplier I got was that simple billboard at the end of the tunnel in the train station, if you know what I mean. Also the beach is good, and flatspin off every super jump you do, and be very, very careful with barrel rolls, obviously. It can be a good idea to try a few barrel rolls at first so if you do crash, you haven't lost a huge multiplier, and if you don't, you've got 2-6x without doing much.

PSN is down this evening apparently (that might be "afternoon" for you guys in America)...

PS - I saw you on this morning but my PS3 was downloading a 45 minute update!!!

I saw you on last night, but couldn't join up as my wife wanted to play Tiger Woods golf last night with me.

If I see you on tonight, I'll join in.

No problem, hope to see you there soon. no rush since i play various games every day.
