I know there's very little to none chances Kaz makes an original Spa for us, so at least let's see what do you like best...

Original Bus Stop Chicane

Revised Bus Stop Chicane (what we have in GT5)

Personally, i prefer the original, it's just insane entering that double chicane from a high speed Blanchimont...

It looks interesting, although I could better compare the two if I could race with both of them, which I can't, so...

I don't think there's anything wrong with the revised one.

Apart from when I'm online and braking and people decide to use me as their own brakes!

It would be cool to have the original one, (like a different year track like they have with La Sarthe) but I can live without it.

I really don't think such tiny changes to a track are necessary. I also think the old bus stop was not a good solution. It's much better now, also with the pit entrance.

You also know that people in GT5 would just go straight on towards start/finish, because there's no barriers there (or not enough). Lots of corner cutting and crashing into people actually making the corner.

Nobody uses those older 2005 versions of La Sarthe in the game either.

So you'd put on penalties or PD would put something in the way.

Also yes lots of people use the 2005 variants of La Sarthe. I for one much prefer the 2005 variant as it is a lot more flowing and also online the penalties aren't as severe so you can take a bit more apex unlike the 2009 ones which don't allow you to run slightly wide anywhere. Also the 2005 variant doesn't have the run-off areas in the chicanes and out of Tetre Rouge so idiots can't cut ass easily.

No interest in the older version of the track. Sure the last chicane at Spa is a tough one but that makes it fun, leave it as it is and concentrate on more pressing issues (like more tracks).

Just put a barrier on the chicane, to stop people totally cutting it by running the barrier!

Nice :)

Now u can see why they called it the Bus stop.
And The "revised" picture Should have gress or gravlepit on the side ... the way it should be.
Everywhere they put asfalt down outside the corners :( :( :(
Spa , le sarthe , fuji (is one blob of asfalt with some track colord on it).
Its more fun and controlled cornering with grass instead of asfalt And the trees on the first picture should have stayed. Would have given spa more of an nordschleife feeling.
I know its for "SAFETY" . But they must not forget Racing is about who dares to go fastest , and with more risk of things going badd it becomes more tence and fun .

Whats next? airbags next to the track so crashing would become impossible and there's no risk anymore ...
Or sides like a halfpipe so u would shoot back on the track safely :p just foolin around now .
Litle offtopic but thanks for sharing the pics here.

Em..how does grass provide better control and grip compared to asphalt?

I don't think they were trying to imitate the Nurburgring, it's better for a track to have its own identity.
Otherwise we'd have tracks that all look the same, and that's just boring.

I know it's nfs, but it might give you an idea of what the old bus stop was!

I don't know about the rest of you, but I am getting sick and tired of people posting videos of other games or sims that clearly show better and more realistic graphics and track depictions than GT5!:yuck:

I somehow doubt that Kaz would put it in the game. If he did though, I think to stop cheating he should raise the grassed area in the middle of the chicane and put in an armco barrier on the last part of the chicane that blocks cars from cutting it so only cars wanting to pit can go down that area.

I think GT5's tracks are much more realistic, but after playing it for a while you begin to realize all of the tiny problems. When you see a different variation of the track in a different game it probably looks much better because you're not used to it, if that makes sense.

No i mean that people will take it easyer in the corners . More controlled (Not so much in real life but online they will :) ) Cause if you miss your racing line u will lose lots of time squirling back on track or crash :p , instead of just keep flooring it on the exess asfalt.

Nothing to do with Nurburgring.
Spa is here in belgium in a Pine forrest location like nurb... and averyone loves nurb :p
it would give a better feeling racing next to big pine trees insteat of open air.
look at the old Le sarthe , does that look like Nurb ? no but its still more real/fun than the new "safe exess asfalt" one.

Laguna seca got Brown gravle/dust/grass :) for my part trow pink gravle next to corners to give a track identety.
But offcourse in real life its not so good if someone plunges into a gravle pit shooting gravle on track for formula / lmp cars still running but the rest of the cars can handle it.
Its a good part of the full racing experience.

I dont agree, I think the tracks and effects on Shift 2 are far better than GT5. However the physics arent, so probably GT5 is using a big part of the PS3 to have good physic. At least that's the explanation I can see.

Here's an idea:
Why don't all the video game companies merge and make an epic racing game. Call it "Need for Forza Turismo." While this will never happen, it would be awesome.

LOL, yeah. Kaz needs to put the pirate ship carnival ride on the infield of every track.

J/K, I hear ya. Shift2 and NASCAR 2011 have much better track surface detail. I know they only run at 30fps but it just looks so much more lifelike. GT5 runs at 60fps and just doesn't give you the same sense of speed.

As for the bus stop. It's not a big deal to me. I would rather see their time spent on other real-world tracks than providing this option. However, I do think they picked the wrong Daytona bus stop configuration.

Trow in some MarioKart/Blur stuff too ...

Lookt at video and i like the old busstop lots more then the new one :) its raped.

Sorry, I couldn't find the "tounge in cheek" emoticon. But I think it just looks more real because I can actually see what is off track in the replays. When I am driving, I am so focused on the track in front of me, I don't really notice the scenery!

Does anybody ever use the version of the Daytona chicane that GT5 uses? I know Grand-Am doesn't and I don't think the bikes do. I don't know if there are any other races on the road course.

As for Spa, I'll take the old, sensible, aesthetically pleasing, more raceable bus stop over that wacky double corner and the nearby prime candidate for "worst pit lane entry in the history of racing," thank you very much.

Lots of people play on 05 La Sarthe, personally i play only 05!

nfs is the only game that has old Spa, so i didn't have much choice :) About graphics, GT5 does not have good environmental graphics like trees and stuff, but it's not a game killer! I do however agree that tracks in GT5 need more tire marks on it, it gives you an excellent feeling on speed, much better then a grey clean tarmac!

I love a few of the older varients of Monza. Especially back when there were metal grandstands bordering the Lesmos instead of sandtraps and there were not any chicanes.
I think that was around the 1970s, I would have to do some research to confirm it.

But, I think GT5 should add some of the older variants of tracks we already have. It would also be convienient if they included some old race cars along with them.

I like the older track configurations usually, and the Bus Stop chicane would be interesting to have.

The Monza speedway would be fun to race on.

A Vintage Nurburgring before all the safety barriers, chicanes, and kinks were installed.

Or just some new real-world circuits instead of this B.S. Route X stuff.

Monza's Speedway isn't that great, plus, speedways are kinda boring.

I like Route X's setting. It is a very diverse and beautiful area, great for photos. I love it because of that. I don't race on it though, that would be dumb, because I don't race with the X2010 or X2011.
We don't need another speedway pretty much, unless it is a Nascar at night speedway because that might be interesting.

Real-World Tracks is all i crave for :) It's just not enough in GT5, other games have more, even nfs...

For some reason i got this feeling that next GT5 DLC map would be Silverstone, don't ask me why, i just have this gut feeling!

Is it because of GT Academy probably?

I would also think that Autodrome Dubai might be on a list of tracks that they might actually be working on making also then.
