Some people don't like chrome.

Also 60 gigs is excessive.

I'm not a fan of chrome, but I wouldn't mind some trim around my PS3.

60 gigs is a fair deal. $100 for 40 more gigs seems reasonable to me. 60 gigs would be used by those who don't plan on buying another system for some time.

PS3? No. Hows about a 32X?

For a 32X I'll let you quote me in your sig and if you include games I might not go kung fu on you with manrinki chain style controller swings.

About the PS3 and Jordan.
That's a nice move big J. :sly:
I don't have the money for a PS3 but I encourage anyone willing to buy a PS3 for Jordan to keep in contact with The Man. (big J aka jordan)
I doubt Jordan wants 2 PS3s showing up on the doorstep (or maybe not because I'm sure I could do something with them :trouble: ).
Good luck working everything out J. 👍

Regarding the PS3 in general... Oh there's got to be a thread for that somewhere...

How is 60GB excessive?, even small portable things have that or even more these days... I also see many people upgrading to even more storage even with 60! When your going to be using all the PS3's functions to its full and (like me) putting TV series, movies, pictures, music, game saves, demos, downloadable content on it it soon adds up! Its going to, in a way, be a media centre.

Well, if you're just going to download game trailers, demos, and have just game saves, 20GB is more than enough. Hell, the 360's "20GB" HDD only has about 16GB of available space after you delete the preloaded crap on it, and my HDD has, at most, been half full. Now, if you're going to install Genji and Ridge Racer 7 on it so you can have good load times on it, that'll take up 10GB right off the bat (and there'll probably be a lot more titles wanting installation in the future, so that'll take up more space). Plus if you're a serious media whore and have tons and tons of movies and TV shows on your HDD, you can fill up that 60GB you have pretty fast.

I'd still pay the extra $100 for the Wi-Fi, card reader, and chrome (hey, that's a feature!... right?), and think of the extra HDD space as a bonus.

How is 60GB excessive?

When it's more than my PC (40 gig [34GB as My Computer claims], 9 gig used, only 335MB of actual family docs - the rest is all the Windows stuff). :scared:

Honestly, I don't see the point of a 60GB gaming console.

20GB, sure, I could probably find a use for that, but 60? How on earth would you come close to filling it up? (like an iPod 60. Who has 60 gigs of music anyway?)

Anyway, as Duck said, 20GB might strain a bit when you start installing stuff for express load times, but surely it's possible to plug an external HDD into the console one way or another?

My PC has 400gig of memory total, I've got less than 100gig left. Memory is precious, I think I'll need a bigger HDD soon. I've got well over 40gig taken up with games, and I don't even play games much.

When I said 60 is excessive, I meant for general game, music, demo and picture saves, not entire games (Which I hope is possible on a 360! :D)

I suppose you have a point, but I do have a hell of a lot of music. A big downside to the XB360 is you can't save mp's as custom playlists so your looking at over 1gig for 2 cd's worth of music, I don't think the PS3 has that problem though.

I have 70GB of music...

I think I have a terabyte altogether in my house. I've used up about 90 percent of it.

It just depends on the person's use of the computer really.

My 40gb ipod is filled to the brim with music. ... No where near my whole collection. :indiff:

I have a 200GB external drive, a 320GB internal in this PC, a 20GB in my laptop and a 20GB in my old Compaq. My mom's computer is probably a 30GB, my 360 has 20GB, my iPod is 30GB as is my mom's. Throw in a 60GB PS3 and I have 730GB total storage in my house. Future plans include a pair of 100GB Raptors in RAID as a system drive and two more 320GB drives in RAID for storage.

You'll be installing part of the game, not the entire game. Or else everyone would be renting games and installing it for infinite use.

And honestly, I really don't want it on the 360. It promotes developer laziness, and you still have to wait a while to install a game just for load times that (in most cases) it'll be improved by 5 seconds. Not to mention it'll eat up the HDD space on the 360 pretty quickly.

When it's more than my PC
By this rationale I should be asking for a much bigger hard drive as mine is 200gb and is almost always close to full.

Of course, I use it as a DVR/video editor/DVD creation unit. And this isn't even getting into my music, podiobooks, pictures, and games. It is a very busy little machine.

If only my Playstation could work with my PC. :indiff:

i would have loved to sell them cheaper to ppl across seas but sony is watching that and will directly slap you with a lawsuit if someone in europe gets one. There is another local guy that got 12 of them.

I didn't think Sony could slap a law suit on a person selling their private PS3 to someone overseas, thats just overkill.

(Note I said private PS3, not business)

RACISM!!!

12 of them? that would cost more than some NEW cars here:boggled:

Um, why? You already PAID for them. I guy in the US went over to Japan and bought one and came back before the US launch. Sony didn't do anything.

because sony specifically said they dont want anyone in europe to have them yet. Going from US to japan to get a PS3 and then bringing it back is different. The PS3 has already been launched in those places. He couldnt have brought the Ps3 back early either. it was launched ont he same day in both places. Sony said they dont want PS3s in unlaunched territories or lawsuits will happen.

well, if it is like that, then soy would have to open up alot low suits over here, cause people are selling them here on internet (imported from japan and US):dunce:

Sony can't stop or touch private trade, commercial trade yes, but private trade no. If I went to America and bought a PS3 for myself I could bring it back to the UK with me and there's not a thing Sony could do, and then once I'm back here I could sell itif I wanted to. If I were to bulk buy PS3's and then sell them, that falls into a different category but private ownership and trade is perfectly fine. What Sony said that your referring to is companies importing PS3's and selling them commercially.

pffft i'd like to see them try.. what people do with private property is their own business unless it infringes on another individuals rights.

**** Sony.
