I think the best I've ever done was 38 and 5 on TD. I remember a 51 and 19 on Headquarters once before too.

Feel free to add me to your list if you want to play :)

Wow, I can't pass that for holding a Sniper rifle for an entire match. My best is 32-10 because of a Air strike and a sniping spot.

Can we bring this thread back to life?

I play on the 360. Nobody posts in here. Start please. I need to talk COD4.

I would play with you more often Matt but the times I'm on now are only with friends. I don't tend to play on my own anymore, but I probably will when the new maps come out.

You'll be getting those right?

I did announce in the PS3 COD thread that I have done all the Elite challenges. :)

More times than not I'm playing with a few good friends. I like pounding people like that.

Maps you say? Roger that. 👍

Congrats on the elitism. You and your 80k+ kills. I just passed 40k. :)

Edit - And I so got a 27 streak the other day. New record.

Not as impressive as G.T since I haven't even begun to prestige, but I too have finished all of the elite challenges.

Went 59-12 with an M60 earlier today. Followed by a 50-9, again with the M60.

I just bought COD4, haven't played online yet. Will probably wait till I have finished the single player.

Was just wondering whats a good place to start online for a newbie?

Looking forward to playing some matches, hopefully I can play some of you guys too. 👍

Quickly set-up a "Private Match" and start it on your own, so you can get the feel of the map or maps you want to practice on.

Other than that, there isn't much to suggest. Your weapon and perk lineup will be limited at the beginning, and Team Deathmatch is the way to go since you'll get the most lower-ranked players. Use the MP5 for easier kills, but try the M16 and SAW if you can... they are deadly when you get used to them and get their red-dot sights when the challenges are unlocked. Just remeber to equip Stopping Power as perk 2 since it makes a large difference.

Thanks for the tips G.T, I will be sure to use them. 👍

I played a few Free for All and Team Death Matches, all I can say is that I am not that good. My deaths always outnumbered my kills, and by a lot most of the time. Practice makes perfect I guess. :D

Well, I haven't even been online because my laptop's battery cable has been a phailure for days now and I just sent it in yesterday. The way how I connect my 360 is using the Laptop's network to play. T_T I guess I am going to probably buy a 60 dollar card with some points to boot because I want Metal Slug 2

Yep, definitely. Once you get used to the maps, then where people tend to spawn and be, then you'll become a lot better. Keep the sensitivity for the guns at default, but as soon as you get better you'll feel the need to up it (default is WAY to slow for me now.)

Free-for-all is good to get aware of your surroundings, but it's a different ball game to Team Deathmatch. In team games try to stick with your team since it's likely the enemy may spawn near your location or happen to be coming your way if you're on your own.

G.T, is there a set date and price for the new maps?
800 points, tomorrow (3rd April). Not sure which time it'll be released but I suppose it'll be morning time for you and evening for me, like most content.

Hardcore would be way advance for him if he chooses that instead of Free-for-all but Hardcore is just fun on certain sniping maps.

Looks like I need to buy points today.

I think Hardcore is where the battle is more realistic. Nothing feels quite as good as squeezing off one shot with your G3 into somebody's cranium.

The new maps are awesome so far, really like them. Didn't play the training yet, but the other 3 are great !

The maps ARE awesome. Chinatown is a lot larger and sophisticated than I previously thought. There are lots of different corridors and places to hide.

Same for creek too, lots of camping spots for snipers. On Search and Destroy it's immence since they could literally be anywhere along the ridge line, behind rocks, on top of buildings etc.

Broadcast is less impressive that I thought it would be, but I think I haven't explored all of it yet.

I still haven't played on the Killhouse map.

👍

I think killhouse is only available in tdm, since it didn't appear in the other game mode so far.

It hasn't appeared in TDM either.

A quick video of me on Chinatown.

I am getting problems updating the game. :(

Update

I have got it to update now. :)

I'm downloading the new maps now. Maybe I can get back into COD4. I just wish I didn't go prestige. I think that's really what killed my drive to play it.

I was wondering, what is this prestige and why is it so bad when you reach it?

Those maps look sweet, might have to get me some points sometime soon. Really enjoying the multiplayer, think I am slowly getting better too. :D

Prestige basically resets you. But you gain a new rank (which has no goodies that come with it at all just bragging rights I guess). But you lose all your guns, all your achievements within the game (not the 360 achievements) and start over for a new badge basically. Pretty much I did it and missed all my guns and all of the sudden lost interest because I really didn't want to do it all over again.
