Well I doubt matchmaking would make much of a difference in a beta anyway, espeically with the limited amount of people playing there isn't many people to match with.

But I understand your decision though, but you are only basing your decision on a BETA - COD4 was improved quite a lot over its beta, so I'm expecting the same for this.
This was my 7th beta and all the betas I have played are almost identical to the final version of the game. I dont see them changing much considering the game comes out in less than a month. I dont think this is a bad game at all. I will be renting it for sure but its not worth paying the full $60.00. Cant wait to see how the 4 player co-op turns out.

I was expecting more from this game really. They had said they were improving the spawning system but its so much worst than COD4 its unreal. I was playing free for all and i would sit there and watch 2-4 people get spawned right there together, not only that but the spawn points were always the same! Also to me the graphics don't look as good as 4. Another problem for me ( which is all personal) is the weapons. They are all so clunky because of them all being in that era. I love having nice modern weapons and such. I will prob buy it anyways because im on the road for my job sometimes weeks at a time and it would be nice to have something new to play in the hotel room, even if its just single player. Who knows, i might end up enjoying it. I try not to make any decisions until i have the actual game and not a beta, thats only fair.

Well, they've updated the beta so it now goes to level 24 but I don't think I'll bother with it. The spawning is still dire, you can still glitch under the map in Roundhouse and there are now even more annoying perks unlocked.

I thought the point of a beta was to improve it slightly as people gave feedback so when the full release came out they had fine tuned it?

Thats SUPPOSED to be what the beta is for but they do not seem to make any changes. As I said above there are still problems from the COD4 beta and COD4 full game that are in the COD5 beta. Its clearly a direct copy from COD4 without fixing any of the problems. WHich means these problems will most likely be in the full game especially since the game comes out in a couple weeks. I will rent it for the co-op campaign but I will not be buying this game. Sure is disappointing too because I was supporting this game from the beginning thinking it could have potential.

I never had any problems with COD4 tbh. Ok, some glitches, but those didn't ruin the experience. If you are good you'll win, it's that simple if you ask me.
Hate spawn killers ? Don't die... :D ;)

Especially if you can glitch out of the map and snipe everyone in the map.

The getting under roundhouse glitch is just getting out of hand and pissing me off to where i don't even want to play the game anymore. Its ridiculous that i can't even play a decent game without some wank shooting me from under the map. Also every time that happens i have been filing complaints on the name that did it, it pisses me off that much.

As long as I was playing COD4 ( about 320 hours from release to June or July ) I never had problems like that. Maybe that changed during this summer, I don't know.

That's one of the main things that is annoying me actually, I always report the player afterwards but there's only so much you can do.

Well if its Hardcore, you can TK the player until he leaves.

Or you will just be kicked out of the game...

I didn't think you could be kicked or kick anyone? I wish you could, would help me sort out those cheating little gits on Roundhouse.

I have gotten kicked in so many hardcore games i can't count now. It pisses me off cause im just doing what i should be doing, kicking the hell out of the other team. If im just doing ok everything is fine, but if im having a good day and just blood thirsty thats when i get kicked. You might have to be the host to have the option. And if the host is on the other team that explains why i was getting kicked, cause they were getting ripped apart by me :)

Got my beta code today and I really like the game, it's fun. What did those who liked COD4 and dont'l like COD5 think how the game gonna be ? It's COD4 in WW2, I played the game for an hour now ( COD absence since June ) and I'm slowly getting into the game, getting to know the maps etc. I'm level 10 and I'm now usually in the top 3, I didn't find all those bugs, I don't have spawn kill probelms and wasn't killed by somebody under map.

Some of you are doing sth wrong I guess ;)

Its getting better the higher rank i get, would be nice to have a few more maps to get a better feel for the game though. The spawn killing applies mainly to free-for-all, also if you haven't been spawn killed get out of the match of wanks and play people that have some type of skill in the game that figure it out and then you will see. The fact that you haven't been killed from someone under the map on roundhouse is crazy, its like a damn epidemic on that map. I hope that start banning people for doing it because its annoying as hell. I use basic glitches like in castle i can get on 3 different rooftops but thats fair because you can still see me and kill me, unlike me being under the map...thats just loser move. I was happy they didn't fix flaws in the game engine like using the RPG jump and strafe jumping and such, without those i wouldn't be able to get to some places :)

EDIT: Oh and i looked at your video game collection, wheres the 8 bit!? Most of my collection consists of 8 bit era and lower, nes, coleco vision, genesis, intellivision...etc. etc. I have allot of systems and games, i don't buy games anymore for a few reasons. One is they are really expensive and when you have 3 kids and a ton of bills that 66 bucks just doesn't fit in the budget. Second reason is because, well, bittorrent+flashed firmware. I hope to get a house big enough to be able to get a street fighter II turbo edition arcade machine :)

I don't know, I guess it depends on the game mode aswell. I play a lot of search and destroy ( and team deathmatch in order to get used to the maps ), no free for all. All I can say is, that I never had those problems. It's not that I'm that great, I'm good but there are a lot of better players.
I think many gamers play too offensive although they are not skilled enough to do that. And then of course you die a lot and the game might get frustrating.
I mean, people getting advantages by glitching, spawn kills, of course that happens every now and then, but it never made me stop winning games, having most kills, get the job done in team objective.
And I played a lot of shooters, I couldn't name a single one that was frustrating in that kind of way.

Well I have a NES and a Master System, but tbh I'm 25, I simply didn't play videogames at that age. I had a Gameboy in 1990 and a SNES in 1994 or so, but at that time videogames were just one of many hobbies.
I began playing intensely and collecting in early 1997 as I got a Playstation, and later that year a N64 and a chipped Playstation to play imports ( and only imports, since I'm not really a huge fan of software piracy - I get your point though, having a family is a threat to your budget, yet in my opinion that should result in buying fewer games and not in stealing them ;) - no offense though ).
So basically everything pre-PSX is bought second hand on Ebay.
My collection is not really growing that much anymore, since university keeps me busy and games like COD4 were so time consuming, that I wasn't really able to play a lot beside it.

I don't play offensively really, i either have high kills and low deaths or moderate with both. I don't just run out shooting everywhere just waiting to get picked off. Its just annoying that people will get under the map and you can't kill them but they can you. I have just started staying away from that entire side of the map because of the idiots. I had a 32-3 last night on WAW...yes! Highest and best k/d ratio ive had on it so far. Only reason i was doing free for all was to get the points to gain levels faster, i hate free for all with a passion.

Oh you got me all wrong mate. I have all of the games new from the store that i have bought but i make back ups so if anything happens to that game i still have the backup to play. I also have a ton of NES and SNES and Genesis roms but i also have all the games in theyre original form as well. Its nice to have all the games on one screen without having all of them hooked up and all. Im not a big fan of piracy but if it wasn't for piracy the software companies and other types of companies wouldn't get pushing technology further and faster. Every a company does something to try to prevent piracy or hacking etc. the other guys just find a way around it and then the company in return makes the product better and the cycle continues. Basically i will download whatever cd ( music ) which i don't have to see if its even worth me buying, if its rad then i will buy it because its theyre hard work and passion going into that and its only right that i pay for it.

Don't know if you guys are interested in glitches ( not under the map! ) but i found one today i haven't seen anyone talking about i figured i would share. I like looking for them and such because its pretty fun just to find stuff that you shouldn't be able to do like bounce jumps and getting inside buildings that your not suppose to and such. The glitch i found today is a dummy glitch, if you don't know what that is just look COD4 dummy glitch on youtube. On castle when you start at the top next to the main building there is a barrel to the right of the stairs that go down through the open room towards the sniper tower. It has 3 green gas cans sitting around it. You can do the dummy glitch there on the left of it where it meets the wall. Doing it there gives you the advantage of being able to see the poor bloke thats coming up the stairs and be able to shoot him before he ever sees you. Thought i would share it in case someone likes glitches and such.

I didn't specificall mean you, but there are so many people out there, not just on this forum, that complain about this and that, and when I search for all those flaws and what not - I somehow can't find them. Instead I see an awesome game that wants me to stop playing any other game out there.
Maybe sometimes people should complain less and think more about the fact that they are the problem and that they simply need to practice a little more.

I just had a great game btw : 18 kills, 2 deaths, 18 kill streak. Not as great as yours, but it was nice nevertheless ;)

Sorry, but I think you know that if 100 people use the words bittorrent and Xbox360 with flash in a saving-money context, 99 out of them don't have the original ;)

I don't know if that theory works, since that circulus vitiosus doesn't help those gamers, who buy their games. Because, the technology you talk about costs money but dooesn't improve the gaming experience. What advantage has an expensive new copy protection system ? It costs a lot of money to develop and doesnt't affect grafics, sound or gameplay.

I mean look at SNES or Playstation3 - no ( huge ) piracy problems and yet it works for the industry.

Oh and I love glitches. I used to spend hours to get out of the maps in COD4. But just in private lobbys, not in ranked games.

Played the PC version Beta the past week and have come to the conclusion that once again Treyarch have screwed up the COD franchise.

The more and more I play it the better it gets, in my opinion. Once the weapons selection opens up at higher levels it doesn't matter so much anymore that some guns are a little over powered - once you get used to the harder guns to use they become better than everything else. Since the patch was released the bolt-action guns are now more powerful, they've tweaked the artillary time, and added things here and there.

The sniping hit detection is better than COD4's, which is a good thing because sniping seems more natural in this game than it ever did in COD4.

The only things I still complain about is the dogs... trying to kill them is still a pain since I can sometimes clearly knife a dog twice and it doesn't die... and they take the same shots to kill than a person!

I havent tried a bolt action since the update yet, looks like i better. I do agree with the sniper system working better though. If i go from call of duty caveman back into call of duty modern man i usually tear it up with the R700 :) The reason is, well i don't really know other than it just seems easier to pop tops in 4 after playing 5. They also seem to run slower in 4 than 5 so that helps a bit.

EDIT: GT, you never replied to my message i sent you on xbox about a week ago....did you get a vip beta code? I got a pc code instead....aaarrrrrrhhhh

Ooops, I forgot.

Nope, I didn't, it was just on my regular account. I got it about 2 weeks ago from the Call of Duty website randomly because I created an account there nearly 2 months ago. The further back you make an account the more chance you have. I'd say my mate and I were fairly lucky to get one at the same time really...

I have another mate who pre-ordered their copy at GAME (the only store in the UK which you get a code from) which guarantees them VIP access, and never received a BETA code once he made the VIP account. He only got a theme...

I was wondering because when i tried to join your match when i sent you that message the image that showed up while it was trying to connect to your match wasn't any of the 3 maps and it said something like airfield above it. Then it said unable to connect so i figured you were playing on that airfield level and since i didn't have the vip full access i couldn't join. I really want to play some more levels because these 3 have gotten very old very quick.

How odd...! I didn't even know there was a map called Airfield. :odd:

It might not be "airfield", but it is something similar. I didn't really see but a flash of the name and a picture or an airstrip sort of and a downed old red baron looking plane.

Well 5 or so days to go ive pre-ordered it and personnally me and my mates cant wait for the co-op campaign!
