I noticed the same problem in the Mitsubishi GTO and Honda Civic Si. I wonder how many they got wrong like that, but it needs to be fixed as soon as possible.

Seriously? I mean, that's what you're complaining about? Wonders will never cease.....I didn't even notice that. That's how much of an irrelevancy it is.

I noticed it too last night driving the 2010 Clio. I initially thought my TV has slipped sideways on my rig but upon checking it is indeed not central to the steering wheel. Strange decision by the dev IMO.

We're pointing out mistakes on the developer's part, which is pretty common in these communities when games or title updates are released. There's a difference between constructive feedback and complaining. I noticed it because something felt off, so I wouldn't call it irrelevant.

Im just pointing out something that is not right. they can just add sliders to adjust drivers views.

When has the cockpit camera ever been in the center in Forza? It's driver's view you see from the position of the driver so it's going to be either left or right hand side and center for cars that utilize center seating. This thread, I just don't know.

You seem to be misreading. The cockpit view was always centered around the wheel, that's what he's pointing out now.

I think you misunderstand what is being said. If we were seeing from the drivers POV wouldn't you expect the steering wheel to be right in the centre of the screen? It isn't ;)

If that were the case, the driver must have some serious neck issues in the above photos.

I see, it's slightly off in those photos. Not sure it's stopping anyone from laying down fast lap times though. Wasn't there the option to shift that left, right, up and down before? Not really a big deal though, cockpit view is not very conducive since it's far too limiting, there no way to pull the view back to give you more peripheral view with all the instruments and other things some cars are down right claustrophobic Viper GT3 car especially is a mess.

Yep, adjusting fov and seat position would be a welcome addition for those of us with our own sim rigs, add to that the option to remove arms and the steering wheel and we might be getting somewhere.

I haven't been able to get the game going yet but from what I've heard, there isn't that option anymore unfortunately. I disagree with it being limiting though, in fact it's the view I use most, and I'm the most consistent with it as well. Bumper is to low and odd, and I can never get used to rear chase cam.

I just don't get how the issue came about in the first place. The guys at Turn 10 have positioned the camera inside every car, so why wouldn't they at least try to get it right? That Ferrari picture suggest that someone said "that seems about good enough" and then moved on to the next car. :boggled:

I depends on the car you're in, I use hood cam as it gives me more view of my vehicle position and allows me the range of view I would enjoy in the driver's seat like seeing over other cars at eye level. In car view can be quite tight and cumbersome to use and require shifting the camera more than I'd like to, perhaps if they have VR you could use that as a way to glance to either side without disorienting your self because in your field of natural view nothing is moving but VR would house your vision so things would look as if they are moving at all times.
I want you to try that Viper GT 3 car, it's cramped beyond belief, this must be how a cat feels in a shoe box with a cut out window.

Ah I agree with you partially. I forgot how cramped some of the race cars can get, but I honestly don't ever use them much. I've tended to stick mostly to road cars for as long as I can remember now  I'd still stick to it and adapt though, as I love the interior view over anything else. It doesn't slow me down much, however.

While it is not possible to remove arms/wheel etc.
It is possible with some TVs to get around the FOV issues if they support picture formating.

This example is from a YT video badly compressed so quality isn't great but some people could check to see if their own TV has similar feature for zoom/shift functions. I've not attempted to get a fully centred wheel here just messed around to show the FOV and positions being moved.

Notice the Ferrari logo, timer and MPH

Time moved to edge

MPH to the limits of the screen and closer FOV as seen in Ferrari logo

Many cars have an offset driving position, mimicking that? I know something the like the lancia stratos has a horrendously offset steering wheel compared to the position of the driver due to space constraints. Small french hatchbacks such as the Clio tend to as well.

The Ferrari 458 mentioned by the OP doesn't even have this off center problem in Forza 5. I'm noticing more and more cars with this issue in Forza 6.

It's a huge negative for those who race/drift using the interior view. Coming from owning GT's and only having borrowed 360 FM's, the FOV in FM isn't easy to get over.

PD was able to keep track of how often people use which views just like they did with distance collectively travelled and as it turned out, the jump from interior-less racing in GT4 to GT5 Prologue/GT5 measured at 90% of the time cockpit view was being used. Not everybody's in it to race as competitively as others. My Halo playing brother raced using bumper cam for better visibility, of course. While he went on to finish most of GT5's career, with me only caring to get past license IB and some of IA, I'm the one playing GT thousands of miles later.

So you want to see less of the left door window?
It's a necessary sacrifice for some. Using the second zoomed in setting in either GT5 or 6 looks and feels more immersive but I tend to keep the default zoom setting for the reason you pointed out. I wouldn't consider it a game breaker, not even near to being that significant, but those extra settings would be great.

people like you are so ****ing annoying, if you are offended by people discussing problems with the game then don't click on the thread

Strangely, this doesnt bother me nor do I notice it. I think its because they try to implement a wide FOV so you can see the cars to the left out your drivers side window when they side up against you. If you have a tighter more realistic view then your view is fixed and you cant see cars on your left.

In real life you turn your head, in this you can *just* see cars as they come up on the left. It looks like a concession to the fact that this is a computer game and not real life.
