can ps3 disc die when appering to be in good condition

gt5 will not load past the first menu screen
ive tried every thing including formating my hd
the disc look fine not a scratch on it has any one had a ps3 disc die on them

So I have two questions to ask first...

Is the PS3 not working?
Or
Is it not reading discs?

If it's not reading discs then congragulations beucause your blu-ray reader just wore out. Happened to my old PS3. This is common with the larger PS3s becuase there older.

Or if you mean the disc isn't loading all the way, then yor blu ray is staring to ware out. Also happened to my PS3.

ps3 works fine with other games its just gt5 that wont work
it installed gt p fine and runs it fine????????????????

going to hire a copy see if it has the same problem

See this happened to my old PS3, first it couldn't play Ferrari Challenge but can play everything else. Then it started to deny all games.

Tell us how it goes later on. It may the blu-ray reader.
