Just bought the paint DLC and it just puts them with the other 1900 paints I have. If I can't sort them I'm gonna delete 1900 some odd paints.

Of course you can sort them...by date acquired or hue (doesn't work very well) or name. You can further sort paints by type (metallic, matte, pearl, etc.) and even my manufacturer...the new paints should be under 'Gran Turismo'.

Not noticed the GT paint category. Will look when I get home.

When I want to search for pink for my kid. I can't even just search pink.
In a few weeks there will be a bunch of free paints moving my DLC down the list. What a pain. Wish there was a way to stop the free daily paints.
Or a simple DLC category.

Filtering by maker to Gran Turismo is more or less equivalent to "DLC + kart" paint chips anyway, so you really shouldn't have any trouble getting to your DLC (now that you know to search GT :) ).
Sorting by hue is by no means perfect, but will still get all similar colours together, just not in a perfect order. Scrolling all the way through the white/off white/grey/black spectra to get to the red/blue/green etc can be painful though.

Very painful. I really wished there was a way to do larger jumps through your paint list.

I keep hitting the right arrow on the D-pad to skip through them like you can on the filter drop-downs, which just moves the cursor somewhere useless :grumpy:

Well, thank you. I never tried to sort by maker. All the DLC's and the Matte's are there. I can handle that.

Im still gonna spend a day clearing out the ugly paints. Even deleting 1 every 3 seconds is gonna take all day.

PD should rethink the whole paint chip system. There is no need store 4000+ paint chips that will never be used, it just a waste of space.

We should just be able to enter the paint shop and select the paint we want by manufacturer and/or color type (Solid/Met/Etc..). You should just be able to buy the color you want.

that would be great.

I'd pay 100,000 credits for each paint I wanted. Bought a used car for 32xxx today just for the paint.
Great idea.

Yes, that's painful and annoying. It really takes time to scroll down the list just to pick up the one we've been looking for, I wish PD could set up a place exclusively for extra paint chips unnecessary for us right now - in case we felt we wanted to use one from among the bunch of stuff stocked.

Yeah the paint system is bizarre. If you want a specific color you buy A CAR painted that color and use the extra paint chip you get for "free". Custom color? Impossible. The least realistic part of the simulation. Now that there is a login bonus for experience and money, the paint system makes even less sense.
