Check this out. It's well explained how to do it. Since you like driving the Beetle, it may help.

THis is really good, I have seen this guy in my rooms at times. Man 2 full seconds up on me at Seaside, damn. Useful that it is the beetle too, though I see he is gear spamming but it is what it is. Interesting note to arc the COD and not straighten, interesting approach.

Just remember Cyrus is doing off meta as he is fast enough in the metas…

He’s a very very fast time trial guy, so his lines aren’t always mine or yours so don’t follow like for like until you are doing consistent times etc Just framing things.

It’s really annoying when you drop 2/10s on your lap….

I wonder if @TechnoIsLove is happy now that I'm ahead of him by more than 0.001 seconds 😊😂😂

Some vids of a race I did yesterday - started 7th, finished 3rd...

Three overtakes in one corner! Taking a ghostly risk

Lick it and send it into 3rd place

Love the racing on this wide open beast of a track!

Seeing that the meta at Kyoto is now the Citroën, when 2 BoP ago was the Lambo, I'm wondering how do aliens know wich is the meta for any given track and category. I mean, surely no one has the time to test all cars. Is there some "stat tool" like that for CoD to know wich is the meta or, if some likes, "the fastest ttk"?
I test not all cars, but honestly like 90 %. I leave out the m4, swift, toyota 86. It mostly takes half a lap to know if it's rubbish.

Bot really, but I am impressed - nice lap sir! Liked driving the GT but only manage to make it out of the chicane after sector 2 facing backwards 🤣

My fastest through the chicane this week, was in the R8evo. I lifted shortly as i was steering in and had a nice relatively straight line through it. Didn't touch anything and when i was able to look at the speedometer i was at 190km/h. That's good not great, but felt "safe" and repeatable.

I noticed that the long stretched curves (Catalunya the long right turn 3 and now race B both long left) became easier for controller users.

I liked race B a bit more last time, cause we were allowed to tune our cars. And i think the McLaren became a meta in the second half of the week last time. (but my memory isn't really trustworthy)

Big fan of the Z4 as well. Mine is a Jägermeister with the big grill in front
Lol at myself. Took the gtr for a spin yesterday. 210kmh through Cod, still lifted quickly, it just makes more sense to me than taking the risk. Besides that, the gtr is like 0,5oo slower per lap with hard tires compared to medium tires.
I drive it with +3 break b. And tcs only at the 2nd to the last corner.
I haven't much time for qualifying or messed up cause I was tired. But i am sure to be close to Dr A by tomorrow. The races yesterday felt (for the first time ever) like seal clubbing...
I still dont get this meta strategy. We all remember, how the supra was practically unbeatable, now it's a runner-up at best. If i were responsible at Toyota (marketing?) i would be knocking on some doors, down the tokyo street, at the PD/Sony office... My first car was a civic, (yes because i couldn't effort an wrx) but it had to be definitely a car from gran turismo..
.
😞
But nowadays,...... They just don't build them like they used to, anyways, or does anyone feels the same as in the late 90's seeing a supra on the street? Look there is a audi sqxtR50 suv with as much horsepower as his weight and it's as ugly as expected.

Lacking a touch of pace around seaside, tried 7 cars and as expected the beetle came out on top for me and I managed a qt of 39.7, need to find about half a second. Tried a race early with a slower qt and started last, all A room, managed to sneak up to p9 on RH after 5 laps then got pole axed from behind by two guys fighting, very annoying to say the least.

3pc from p1 is a 39.4 so yeah seaside I should be around that mark. I did try thr magnificent sounding z4m, which has been rendered flaccid and withered after many a hateful bop update but in 3 laps had it down to a 39.8 and I could do better, may be worth the hassle just for the replays.

Sounds like we’re in the same boat. I’ve managed a 39.7 in the RSR, which isn’t very competitive in B/S lobbies. I’m usually quicker (relatively) at DTS. Hopped in the GTR, which is top of the leaderboard, and was slower!

How many laps are you able to do on the mediums before they go off?

I find the hards are just terrible in this race; so little grip!

I did one race last night, All S/A drivers so a decent room and I started P6 and finished P5. My pace was OK, a bit slow but I hold my places by not binning it at the COD, i am losing half a second there so 6 to 7 seconds per race but bin it once and it's 20 seconds minimum.

I cannot make the GTR, Mercedes or RCF work for me, like ever, at any track. The BMW I can make work and should run it tonight to try something different but those other three cars I see a lot and for the life of me cannot turn strong laps in them. I am more comfortable in the MR cars, Beetle or Supra.

I run the hard 5 laps ideally, sometimes 4 or 6 depending on traffic.

I think it’s going to be not smooth enough on the power they are all very torque-y cars especially with TC on it will limit them pulling away compared to the higher revving less torque- stuff (Beetle, RCZ etc)

The knack with the cars you’ve listed is more patience getting back on the throttle and when you do be considered.

Also with those three cars you mention you can almost enter the uphill Esses without braking and a nice solid lift and coast which will get you loads of time especially in race.

Yep, guilty as charged. I am fast with the beetle through T1 and 2, I see gains there. Also see gains middle of the esses where if I get it a bit wrong I can still go full beans and others lift, especially on worn rubber. Get eaten alive at COD though, I am very risk averse but dead set half the field bins it there as I grin driving past them.

Honestly do some QT practice or that sector on the CE the COD is flat and the more you try (and crash) the better the muscle memory is for what it’s like when the pace is upped.

Yeah wish I could, I am time poor and I default to "I only have 45 mins so i am racing" so to speak. My 14 yr old made a rep volleyball team and it's a hell of a time suck.
But maybe just take one of those 45 mins slots to try, it’s all improvement rather than trying to cram finding time in between races etc, it pays dividends the other end, sure not raced but put more learning miles on for when you do race next.
