In GT5P, you can't use the clutch on cars that doesn't have them (GTR, California,...) how does it work in GT5?

Uh, I'm pretty certain that you could use the clutch on every car in GT5P. I know I used it on the F2007 and it was nearly impossible to drive (Besides the fact that I couldn't shift into 7th :)). I also used it on the F430, and that isn't available as a manual either.

But what wheel do you have first of all? With the Fanatec, you need to first have the H-pattern shifter plugged into the wheel, and then you need to press Triangle every time you start a race to activate the clutch.

I have a G27 and the clutch will not engage after pressing triangle ( I can still use the H shifter to shift) in certain cars.

You don't press triangle to activate the clutch anymore. The first time you press the clutch it is activated, so instead of hitting triangle at the beginning of every race, all you do is press the clutch before shifting into second.

Edit: I'm speaking from personal experience with my G27, Fanatec wheels may be different.

It's been hit or miss with me, some times when I press triangle the clutch works, other times it doesn't. I just keep restarting the race until the clutch works.

Hmm, that's odd. Do you guys all have G27's? My Fanatec 911 seems to work fine, pretty much the same as it did in Prologue.

My G25 has been working just fine all day. I've been pushing the triangle button to get the clutch to work, but sometimes I feel like the clutch is already working before I push triangle...maybe goes along with what peobryant said above.

Yeah, with the triangle, I've found you no longer need to do it after starting every race. It's only on the first race after you load the track. After that, if you restart or finish and select to try the race again, the clutch will be activated.

you don't never need to do it, mine worked from the get/go.

What is cool btw is that you can transition in a race to paddles just like that and vice versa.

Game registrates you doing that and disables/enables clutch. Awesome!!!👍

The clutch activates the first time you step on it, no need to use triangle. And I think it is still the same, cars that don't have the option for the clutch in real life don't have it in game.

You can use the clutch for any car. Ive tried and it works. As mentioned above you can also seamlessly switch to paddles too. I use paddles on cars that have them, shift with clutch on all others.
