if any of u live in toronto, u could just go to pacific mall. I couldnt wait for the english to come out so i bought a chinese version for $25 early january. :)

Would you all stop complaining about a minuscule 5 dollar price difference?! In Europe the game costs between €60 and €65, which comes to be between US$81 and US$87. Meaning, at least 15 dollars (American) more than your version. Feel sorry for us :(

No, seriously, anyone know why this happens? Every video game costs more in numbers than the US-Canadian versions, even though the euro is supposed to cost more than the US dollar (€1 = $1.35)

Perhaps it's the shipping costs. Sorry to hear tho. It adds up quite a bit i guess, for every game u buy.
 
I put five dollars down on a copy at EBgames and they said they'd phone me when it's in.

Plus I'm guaranteed a copy, just in case.

This was like 5 months ago..

I think they said it was gonna be like $59.99 plus tax.

I'm also getting a PS2 modem on top of that, so there's another 60 bucks at least.


 
I somewhat miss living in Canada and buying games for $59.99 or so. I bought GT4 here in Japan and it cost me the equivalent of $84.25 canadian. Yikes!

duhh my bad forgot about the currency differences, 59.99 just sounds bad, and really sorry for the euros that pay exorbitent prices for games, the world just needs a standard currency to hell with all the freakin differences, were all human right :grumpy:

I live right next to EB Canada's headquarter's in Brampton. That means that the EB right down the street always gets games first :D .
 
I remember a time when almost all new games coming out were closer to $70 or $80 CAD. Perhaps it has to do with current exchange rates, but I'm pretty happy that it's the price it is.

I'm sure there's bound to be a wal-mart or a superstore selling it for 58.88 or 59.87 or some price like that. :boggled: haha

BTW, Every DFP I've seen in Canada up to now has been $200. I'd like to know as well if there are any cheaper ways to get it.
 
didn't preorder mine, I'll go get if after college on 23rd, I'm done at 11AM, and hopefully they'll have it in stock somewhere..

I Preordered my copy at microplaY but i probably won't be able to go and buy it before thursday... school and work+GT4= bad mix haha
 
Too bad for the people who have to pick the game up on the 23rd. I live in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and I can get every game the day it was supposed to be released on. I got San Andreas on the 26th, I got Burnout 3 on the 8th... My little brother (7 years old) got Underground 2 (I can't remember the date but it was the day it came out)...


The EB in WPG is sweet.
 
like i said GTA: San Andreas cost me 11$ less than what EB was selling it for on release day. $48.89 CAD no lies. i had got there shortly after noon and the clerk told me he had already sold more than 70 copies! and they had piles more sitting in the glass cabinet. Wal-Mart simply owns when it comes to console game prices. too bad i can't say the same about their PC game selection, or lack of :indiff:
 
I pre paid for mine over a year ago.I can pick it up on the 23rd from EB.59.95 + tax.right now I don't care what the price is,I just want the game.
 
Is there anything special that comes with GT4 besides the instruction manual? If not then I'll consider other options. This is the one game where I've considered getting it from the stores but I blew most of my money on other crap. Whatever, I won't even be able to play til may anyway, too busy.

All prices here EXCLUDE the tax so you'll have to factor that in. Does Canada have a sales tax? How much?

Now, somewhere I've seen someplaces selling GT4 (advertising the sale of GT4 when it comes out I should say) online. Some of them are listing it at 59.95 American.
Man do we lose on that one!

well in ontario we have the pst (provincial sales tax) and gst (governmental sales tax) so i totals to around 15%, in other provinces it varies since some don't even have the pst so i think they get around 7 or 8% instead.

I know the sales tax in the states is generally alot lower, so... i think in the end we all pay the same price roughly...

here in BC it's PST + GST which adds up to 14% (7% each) (as of few months ago, it was PST = 7.5%)
 
Does anyone know if any EB Games in the Montreal region started receving their copies? It would be nice if it was like GTA:SA, they released it at 7pm the day before the release date.

And is the release date for Canada the 23rd or 22nd?
 
Called futureshop today (21st) , the guy said probably this afternoon.. but i doupt it.. and even if they do, i doupt they will be allowed to sell it.. specially a big firm like FS.. on tehir website it says 22nd.. bestbuy.ca also says 22nd but 25th on the main page..

says 59.99 at fs and bestbuy

Other local video store said tomorrow but since its snowing right now he said might be delayed til wednesday..he said 64.99

Ebgames said 23rd.. i then called in ottawa and they said the same thing..

I reserved a copy at a local video game store, but back when gt3 came out.. i got it a day sooner there, so it might be possible for this one too depending on when the shipment comes in

radioshack says 64.99

Im in Gatineau, just across from Ottawa

still trying to figure out when were actually gonna have it.. price i dont really mind

oh yeah.. we all need to get this xlink thing configured so we can all play online ;) getting a crossover cable tonight
