Can't even play the ****ing game, won't update someone help plz!!

Really hope someone on here can help me as its doing my head in!! only had the game a few weeks or so and only played it about 2 hours since gettin it. Now I actualy want to play it, every time I start the game it comes up with update preparation, then starts installing then "error installing" pops up and it just starts all over again im already on 1.13 so don't really see what needs to be updated, any body shed any light on this?cheers

Is it the disc or the digital download? If it's the Disc, I was having the same problem, mine was scratched so I just bought it digitally

Take the disc into a gameshop and get it refinished, see if that helps.

I really need to save that picture for this kind of emergency.

But anyway, to the OP, GT6 has a weird quality that some PS3's refuse to download and install certain updates sometimes, for no apparent reason. The most effective way to fix this issue is to delete the game data (Not the save data) And retry the install.
 
Haha sorry not you mate, I've tried my mates disc and it does the same thing,it's fine on his PS3 though

Is it reinstalling all the updates from 1.00 by itself???

Are you already signed in to PSN when doing the update process, or are you simply booting the game up without signing in?

It doesn't have to do with the disk. There is a glitch in which you can't install certain updates if you're signed in. It happened to me in 1.02, and 1.12.
 
I've tried everything, erasing game data, formatting the PS3, going into safe mode or startup mode and rebuilding drive or whatever. When you press triangle and search for update it says up to date no update available....

Well then the only thing to try next is buy a new PS3, and the newest model if you can. Sorry.
 
why?because I typed plz? Haha ok, sorry dude. I'm just trying to sort out an issue with a game here and wanted to know from people that play the game a lot if anyone had any ideas that I havn't tried, or had the same issue and solved/not solved it. I didn't come here to talk about the s**t weather or how your mothers getting on and the old witch isn't even funny, this is though.... Don't go and ban me please, I'm only joking, I only wanna get my game working..lol

Sorry bud just thought what the hell when I ask why my game won't update and some bloke puts a picture of his mum up.... Lol
Anyway yea it's updating while not signed in, looks like it's going to do the same thing again though but fingers crossed

What did i do? I asked him to read the rules. I wasn't being hostile or anything, in fact i suggested a solution to the op.
 
Ok let's forget all this, I don't know what an AUP is, my game won't work, it's just done the same thing again while signed out and I meant the bloke who posted the gawping woman... Wasn't aiming at chameleon so yea lets just get on with fixing my game :gtpflag:

Unfortunately, if you have tried everything that you said you have, the only option could be to get a new PS3, as far as i know. Sorry.

It was pretty much the only bit of "text talk" I used in the whole post I think. I acknowledge everyone's opinion and the fact that you're not supposed to use "text talk" and apologised a bit tongue in cheek as let's face it that was a bit of an anal comment... And that's fair enough, I'm not slating you for it, I can imagine what you thought reading my OP, ah see that, forum code 👍 but yea, I mean YES, look see now you've got me being all prim and proper typing this big old essay trying to justify myself when all I wanted to do was play gt6. What kind of PS3 is it? I've heard that "fat" PS3s are more likely to have the issue.

Im having the same problem, aswell as other people. it's not the disc, It's not the ps3.... It's them... Polyphony keeps releasing updates that is apparently not agreeing with the ps3's OS and it's causing this problem, It's update 1.13 to be specific. Try this link: https://www.gtplanet.net/gt6-installation-has-failed-update/ I haven't gotten mine to work yet but maybe it'll help you. I know, It's not fun to have a $60 thing sitting there you can't do anything with....

I wasn't accusing you of anything. I just tried to step into the OP's shoes. He wants to play one of his favorite games to unwind only to be met with a message that tests his temper and his nerves. He's obviously angry and desperate. Kind of how I was when I first came to GTP asking for help. Telling him to read the AUP doesn't help the situation as well, frankly, that's the least of his troubles. (Although, he should've read the rules when he made the account. It does ask you if you've read it...)

Try this one last time.

First, are you on a data cap? If not, do it.

Delete your game data. Start from the first update NOT signed in. Keep on going. Once you reach the same problem, try to install the update this time signed in. Keep going back and forth; signed in and not signed in. Until it finally bypasses whatever algorithm PD wrote that doesn't coincide with the PS3's OS.

Keep coming back to us with updates.
