After this recent patch, I cant turn off skid recovery. I am a level 27 A-spec and I always had this setting turned off. Anyone else having this issue? or I am just missing something.

I havent played it yet but if this is true then there's trouble about to go down big time on here.

gonna try as soon im home from work , just tried 2 min at lunch brake with the nissan micra in the s7 and the skid recover was on with no option to turn off.

that stupid skid recover reminds me ..........

I just checked Sunday Cup and practice mode. You can turn it off. I think its just the seasonals have it locked.

Skid recovery is a must though for most DS3 users.

I like it on most of the time, but take it off if I want a good challenge added into the mix.

The problem is that it changes the laws of physics making your car faster, not only easier to drive.

I'm a DS3 user.

Never used SRF until the Seb Loeb challenge - will never use it again as it made the challenge too darn easy to gold!

I would have to disagree with that statement. I use a DS3 with X for accel, [] for brake, and pad for steering and I dont use any aids. Skid Recovery makes the game waaaay to easy. Learn to drive with them off and you will be much faster. Of course higher hp rear-drive cars are tricky with no aids and a DS3, but you can still go faster without them.

try mapping your L2 and R2 buttons for brake and accel. gives you much finer control coming in and out of corners.

Thanks, I have tried that and Im just more comfortable with the old school setup. Doesnt cause any problems for me, can still gold all challenges (except for X1) and have no trouble keeping up with the wheel guys online. Ill just wait until I get a wheel.

WTF- why is it stuck on in seasonal challenges? SRF sucks and makes it feel like an arcade game.

Oh my god, that's dangerous ! As a 10+ year sportbike rider and a parts/accessories manager in the industry for more than 5 years, I'd seriously put that right along side the FJR1300 that came in for service with a Toyo Proxes 205/45/17 mounted on the rear wheel....... OMG.

Ummm... You are joking here, right? As a biker you'll be well aware that even a low speed corner will bend those little stabilisers right out of the way, which can only mean that they've not been used on the road and are just there to make an amusing photo...

How would that ride? A bike without rounded thread, but square like a car's tyre.

Like a snow mobile?

Well GT5 isn't a sim anyway..

First of all what does that have to do with anything?

Secondly, the physics in GT5 are one of the best parts of the game. It has more realistic and accurate physics and force feedback than a lot of so-called "sims"..

Since you said SRF made it feel like an arcade, but also with SRF disabled it feels a bit arcade..

Oh, and it better than so-called sims? Try iRacing, LFS, GTR2, RBR. Those are sims..

GT5 is semi-sim at best, just like Forza and NFS Shift.
GRID is pure arcade.

I was looking forward to doing these later on tonight, if the Gay Recovery Force ;) can't be turned off I don't think I'll bother!

:grumpy:👎

SRF is off-able in mine, I dunno what's wrong.

I know this because I'm still trying to train like crazy with the FGT and I still overcook it massively.
