I noticed that, for my favorites, I can't use racing slicks online. I can only use:
Sports - Hard
Racing - Hard
Racing - Intermediate
Racing - Rain

This led to me getting beat in my Peugeot 908 by a Castrol Supra at Trial Mountain. Needless to say, I was very ashamed of my defeat.

I bought slicks for several cars in the tuning shop, so where are they?

This might be an overly simple question. But, have you installed the slicks on the car yet? If the answer is yes, then I would chalk this up to another PD blunder.

Hard Racing Tyres are still slicks just a harder compound compared to the soft slicks and take longer to heat up

I did notice that unlike exhaust selection, gear ratios etc that you fiddle with in the "garage tuning", tire selection seems to be under "driving options" along with tcs and anti-skid etc etc. I don't know why, the garage tuning section shows tires just like all the other mods you have purchased, it just doesn't allow you to select them.

Mate, "Racing - Hard" are the slicks.

My bad. Looks like I meant "Racing - Soft". I can't use them on anything but arcade cars. I've purchased "Racing - Soft" tires for my Nissan GTR Stealth Model for example. However, I can't use them online. There was no tire restrictions. Anyone still care to explain?

Are you able to use them on that car offline?

I ask because I believe there is a bug related to buying tires. In my experience, with some cars at least, if I buy a set of tires but DON'T install them at the time of purchase, they won't be available for the car. The store will indicate that I own the set, but I won't be able to use them. The work around for me is to have the store install each set of tires when I buy them, then they all show up and are available to use.

If you buy tires, or any part, and do not install them right away, you can install them later by going to the "items" section of GTLife... where the horns and stuff are, and they should be there. If you're using the car you want to install them on, you can do so then.

Oh fabulous! Thanks for the tip, this was driving me absolutely nuts. I guess the idea is that parts are not associated with a particular car until you install them, even though you buy them in the context of the selected car.

That's the way it seems to work in my experience.

Seems like I got the problem resolved. The Stealth GTR is a MONSTER.
