Ran a couple of laps. Is that 132 in draft? Otherwise I'll have to do some serious messing with gears. With my current gearing even with no downforce and lifted like a truck I barely hit 128 once on my own. I suppose gears have to be adjusted so that I'm hitting peak HP when going uphill.
No draft.I think i had the upper top speed around 170 and the same setup as GV-R.

Did some more laps before bed (thanks RDAardvark) and I did hit 131 before braking point on Kemmel straight. However, that was with fuel/tire wear off. With it 'on' I can only manage 128 (if one does not count starting from far corner of the track, cutting the exit from Eau Rouge, not braking for Les Combes and going straight into the wall - that one yielded 133 ;).

The shuffle lobby i was in about 30 minutes ago was alot like that 2nd part but the tire wear might have been off.I can see the fuel weight slowing the car down that much.

What sort of lap times were you all doing at Spa? Running with tyre wear on and my GVR setup, tyre wear was noticable after only a couple of laps.

I'll switch my lounge over to Spa with weather change after work today. Really glad that you can all share Spa.

Anyone fancy a game of pinball run around the kart track after Saturday's race?

I didn't get a chance to do any real full laps around Spa last night so I can't really give any lap times. I had my doubts that the Capp would even be able to make it up Eau Rouge but it seemed to do ok. That Kimmel Straight feels like it's about 10 miles long though! Great fun and a beautiful track, it's the Nordschlife's little sister. :)

I plan on doing some running around there tonight after work if anybody's interested. Thanks again RDAardvark, very kind of you to share with the less fortunate! :)

And yes, I'm up for some Pinball Space action on Saturday! That place was pretty fun!

Paulmac was kind enough to host a free for all last night and I got a chance to run around Spa with a whole bunch of different cars to learn the track. By the time I figured it out the lobby was full and I never did take out the Cappy because I didn't want to get run over...lol. Hopefully get a chance to get the Cappy out there in the next couple of days. Most fun I had was in the LMP cars...they are really suited to this track. Broke the 2 minute barrier in at least 3 of them.

I was testing some LMP cars @ Spa in RDA's lounge last night as well. I only did a few laps per car but stringing consecutive sub two-minute laps while on Racing Hard tires (TCS = 0) left me with a great sense of personal accomplishment, regardless if it was actually fast or not. I felt like I was murdering the rear tires out of every corner.

I think my best was a low 2.45.x. With tire wear off I was 2 seconds faster.

I ran a 2:44.890 at Spa using my GVR setup with tire wear on. There is definitely more time on the table but to find it I need more seat time. I actually ran my 44.890 on lap 8 or 9 of a stint having run four consecutive 45.4s the laps prior. I did notice that my tires were showing wear but they never came up to temperature.

That's 2.5 seconds a lap faster than I managed with my GVR setup. So that would be about right: My talent wall is about 1 second in every minute away from yours!

I'll be pootling around tonight again if anyone cares to join me - Or just jump on in if I am not online.

Do you mind adding me so I can check out Spa later this evening?

RDAardvark-add me please.

Paulmac's room was fun for a while last night until the drifters and backwards runners showed up.

Same here! If you are on please add OwensRacing

I'm probably the last to know, just like I'm the last to know tire wear was flagged "on" instead of "off" as the default after Spec 2...lol.

But for what it's worth, there's a new GTR GT500 Stealth Model available free to North Americans only as I understand it. Here's a little bit about it and the code to download it.

JP, you really should check out the News Page more often.

News page? I didn't even know there was a news page...lol. And that's no joke!! :dunce:

Is there any other free content I missed out on?

RDAardvark
I've added you all, except Owens: You have too many friends! Have you an alternative id?

Oh no! Gonna weed out my friends list again. Hate to remove people. But really the people I race or cod with regularly need be there. Or is it GTP_OwensRacing time. Ok making that PSN today.

You missed out on the ginormous grape, more commonly known as the Edge Pro Gel Camaro DLC:

I blinged mine all out with side exhaust and Boyd C. wheels. :dunce:

Goodyear tires?!?! I've never seen anything besides Bridgestone's in GT5 that I know of. Sadly I missed out on the big grape, but I kinda hate Camaro's so no real loss. It might have looked nice on concrete blocks in my front yard though.

It is kinda the home page ya know. When you go to gtplanet.net in Canada does it just show a Molsen advert or something?

:sly:

I've seen Goodyear, Michelin, Potenza (part of Bridgestone?) and I think I saw Pirelli on something. Doubt it makes any differnce though.

Really? Where have I been? I've only ever seen Bridgstone Potenza's that I'm aware of. Maybe I saw Michelin on a rally car once but not for sure. Guess I'll have to be more observant. :)

Removed a few and added a couple guys.

Also tried to make the GTP account and got server maintenance from the website. Hence why I trimmed my friends list some. Screwy almost everyone on my list I race or COD with once a week. I hope we get the ability to have more friends.

I think the new DLC cars all have different tire manufacturers.

I've seen the billboards but never seen the actual tires on cars.

I have a practice room open if anyone wants to join in. Closed
