Issues huh, glad I'm broke, wait no I'm not!

I think I'll skip tonight and race Friday, I haven't had chance to even do a lap of the oval, I think qualifying is the wrong time to try to learn it, even for someone of my obvious driving prowess.

It's a simple track man. Slow for the two end turn and wide open everywhere else!

I'm more worried I'll stack it and take people out with me. Spoil everyones fun

I apologize for being the slowest and worst driver in the HISTORY of the Capp Cup. :( I will try my best to be a better driver. :) Thanks for your time. --- Randy

Unless I'm buzzed up exactly the right degree on Friday, I think I done for this week =0

Well, that was a travesty, but at least we know Fixed Host doesn't fix the problem. I didn't have any frame rate lag but cars were lagging like crazy and several of us didn't have any tire sounds again. The track's not good either, it really wasn't the one I wanted but I goofed and shared the wrong track so it's the one everybody had practiced on. We probably need to consider voiding this round of the championship and hope that by next week we can go to Rome and everything will be smooth again. Or at least better.

Here's the results.

TUESDAY RACE 2 RESULTS

I had a blast first race. Clawed my way back up the field for a fourth place.

Second race got rocketed in turn one and no recovering. Running alone for 12 laps would stink. Especially being frustrated.

No problems here dropping the round.

I had a few cars being jumpy. Most were perfect.

So, I didn't get kicked because I suck? :p

Wow, that lag was horrible... I couldn't even run a consistent lap in the first race, cars around me were all over the place. The second race was better, but I still experienced some lag when I was running in a pack with wiifreak and yuri towards the end... If I hit anyone, it was purely an accident and I apologize.

The track wasnt the problem,it was the reverse grid.Somebody drove me off the track which led to me spinning out so i was 17 sec behind on lap 4.There must have been more chaos ahead as i caught up to alot of stray cars along the way.

I noticed a couple of cars surging slightly but no serious lag.

I think a lot of it had to do with how many cars you were running with... It was horrible the first race for me and I got punted several times after starting mid-pack. The second race I started up front and only had a couple of minor issues when I ran with two other cars.

I was seeing this kind of stuff all night, and worse, and it had nothing to do with the reverse grid.

These connection issues are really screwing things up for us right now and I don't feel it's fair to have points races under these conditions. The track we were on didn't help anything but the lag/surge issues would have been there no matter what. The room last night was an open lobby with a fixed host status, supposedly the most solid setup available and we were having all the same issues so I don't think there's anything we can do.

My opinion is that we should scrap this week and wait for some of the network congestion to die down. Anymore races under these conditions are an exercise in futility and would probably lead to 90% of the people using this week as one of their throw away rounds. The only option we have left to improve the room is disabling voice chat but from what I've seen I wouldn't expect that to make a big enough improvement to justify continuing.

There are several ways we can handle this, my proposal:
Use the rest of this week to have free races at Spa, then resume Round 4 next week but at Indy Speedway instead of a custom oval (I think I'm done with the custom tracks for a while).

Let me hear your opinions/frustrations and we'll make a decision.

Now I wasn't there last night but I can see clearly what is going on. Lag at an oval is a nightmare and if you brake because of it, that several laps screwed.

Personally, I'd be quite happy with a week of races at Spa. Give the network some time to settle down. I notice there is no maintence scheduled at the moment!

I'm fine with postponing this until next week: Perhaps make a decision at the weekend on which track to run. You're only suggesting Indy as it is just down the road and you don't have far to travel then - Do you know the freight costs for getting a Cappy from Ireland to Indianapolis?

I'm sure a loaner Capp can be provided if you can't afford the shipping costs. :)

Yeah, you could say IMS would be a "home race" for a good portion of the Capp Cup drivers. :)

I apologize we're not all perfect drivers Mr. IforceV8 :p I personally enjoy the reverse grid, always a challenge and fun. We also had lag issues which did cause many issues. I will say you and dsg had a great run catching up that second race, impressive.

Agreed...

I didn't have many lag issues while racing at all, but looking at the replay, holy smokes, it looked bad.

That sounds good to me. Perhaps then when we do the custom oval we can use the one you originally intended to use which, from the little time I spent on it, was more enjoyable.

In case you guys didn't see the big news from Kaz, it looks like we'll be getting a tasty update tomorrow. :)

"We will be doing an October GT5 update in North America and Europe, planned for Oct. 27th. This will consist of:"

...

"1. Kart Space I/II of the DLC will become drivable with cars other than Karts in the online lounge and free run of Practice"

...

"2. Expanded restriction options for cars in the online lounge"

"[Car Restrictions], [Performance Points], [Power], and [Car Model] regulations will be possible to set simultaneously."

....

"3. Fix for issues in: Setting sheets, G25/27, resuming from pits in endurance races, TC car numbers and LSD settings, etc."

...

"Many more minor adjustments have been made, but something like this."

The only downside is that this puts more pressure on the network!

Thanks for singling me out... lol

I've never experienced lag in a lounge like this before the last two weeks, I wasn't seeing it occur with my car, just the cars around me.

Sorry, I did these early this morning before I was going to work and I knew I had seen your car lagging pretty badly so I just grabbed a couple quick clips on my way out the door. Nothing personal. :)

The more laps I can log around Spa the better so I am down for that plan stig.

Wow I had no idea it was that bad last night...lol. I got stuck out running alone for the most part in race 1. I was with DSG and Wii for a while then they fell behind but didn't see what happened. Second race I got lucky and moved to the front pretty quick ran with Brosif for a while then Ncent and Wii towards the end. I saw a bit of minor surging here and there in the first race but nothing with these three guys in the second race. I think Brosif surged into me going into turn one though because it felt like a pretty hard ram and I ended up in the grass.

I was wondering why we were on that oval and not the bigger right hander...lol.

Good on PD for fixing those issues so quickly, especially the problems with the settings and being able to restrict lobbies. Hopefully they add a copy feature to the settings but I'm not holding my breath. 👍

Kart Space with other cars is a great novelty, but won't be much fun to race on, unless you like smash up derby.

I really enjoyed the "D" oval but i have no problem with your plan Brandon. Now do we run Indy IRL style or CART Hanford device?

Maybe the Alfa's can make an appearance at Spa?

How many of us have the Alfa Romeo GIULIA TZ2 carrozzata da ZAGATO CN.AR750106 '65? It's a $10mil car but can be won in the Bspec Expert Historic race. It's really like a vintage Capp and we could do some fun stuff with it if enough people have it.

Go put your Bob's to work, the Toyota7 or Chaparral 2J should do the trick. I can share the Yota for you to use if you don't have either of those cars (I don't have the 2J).

I watched the replay of your incident iForce...it was pretty funny actually...you just got caught between two lagging cars and they punted you off the track lagging back and forth.
