can someone please tell me..what's the point of having a ??

1999 Dodge Viper GTS and a 2002 Dodge Viper GTS .. its the same car just 3 years apart ????? why not add the 1992 RT10 Viper better... ???

Simple. During the development time for GT5 and its premium cars the 2002 Viper GTS was the car they had access to at the time. They were probably unable to procure the 1999 car they originally had on hand during GT4's development. So they made due with a 2002. I personally believe that they should remove the 1999 Viper GTS from the game completely since the only difference between the two are the available colors.

What on Earth would be the benefit of removing a car that's already modeled and in the game?

Maybe the 1999 won't have the option of using ABS as it didn't have it.

Didn't the 1999 GTS come in a special blue and white that was only available for one year to celebrate the Viper's 10th Anniversary? (The Viper "Ghost" Concept debuted in 1989, I believe)

I wish one of these guys would set up a stream on justin.tv to show us a quick walkthrough of the menus, used cars, etc.

Both the '99 and '02 Vipers are Second Gen, but the 1999 was, indeed the 10th anniversary model. But it was the '02 model that got special treatment and was the first model to have the red and white stripes to celebrate the end of the 2nd gen Viper and the old Viper Oreca race cars.

Please could you tell my which cars are these? I see two of them are 430 and 430 Scuderia, but which is the third one? 360 Modena???:dopey:?

Most likely candidate. A one off custom F430 is very disappointing given the amount of Ferraris that are alot more important in Ferrari's lineup (the 599 GTO for instance) or ferrari's history (the 250 GTO). The inclusion of the SP1 means that energy that could have been directed towards more important Ferraris was diverted towards a one off no one remembers.

The very first special project vehicle made by Ferrari, the SP1 (for Special Project Number 1) made its North American debut at Concorso Italiano today, one of the lead-up events to Sunday’s Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. Owned by Junichiro Hiramatsu of Japan, the SP1 features custom bodywork by Leonardo Fioravanti, who’s past works for Ferrari include the Dino, Daytona, P5, P6, 512 Berlinetta Boxer, 365 GT4 2+2, the 308 GTB and the 288 GTO. The SP1 was built under the auspices of Ferrari, and is fully sanctioned by the company.

It is either this or a 360 Modena.

Anyone think there is a chance that when we first put the disc in and browse the car list that there will be Porsches in the game? :)

Hypothetically, I'd be willing to wait another 2 months for the game if they announced Porsche would be in it.

I don't see the Ferrari Fxx in the youtube menu videos :nervous:

I cannot even say the usual "there is always DLC" because I believe Yamauchi said there would not be any. That Red Devil Camaro for instance will not be included in GT5. A one off custom F430 is very disappointing given the amount of Ferraris that are alot more important in Ferrari's lineup (the 599 GTO for instance) or ferrari's history (the 250 GTO, the 275 GTB, or 365 GTB/4 Daytona). The inclusion of the SP1 means that energy that could have been directed towards more important Ferraris was diverted towards a one off no one remembers.

I was happier with the aim Polyphony had with GT4's car list. They aimed towards the important current sports (or sporty) cars of the brand while looking at the brand's history as well. They had a genuine goal when it came to car inclusion. This SP1 probably behaves exactly like an F430. All it amounts to is a reskin. Like changing the color of a character sprite and calling it a new character. Oh well. I ignored the Midnight Purple Skyline GT-Rs and I will do the same to this one car.

That's all I wanted to say. Couldn't agree more:tup:

Gran Turismo = the Mortal Kombat of racing games? ;)

The SP1 is a neat inclusion for it's rarity, but as has been stated, it's essentially a 430 with a bodykit (and mascara, apparently), and I can't help but think there's literally tons of other prancing horses that are more interesting.

Also, this video shows the first-gen TT V6 for the first time in game.

please, someone knows about Audi A6 4f, the new model , since 2005?? Would it be inside the car list? I know, the RS6 will, but another model of 4f ????
thanks

Well, if this means anything, I was pleasantly surprised to see a '70s Mustang, and a late model C3 Stingray{'82, perhaps?} in the intro video..........the '82 model 'Vette was my favorite American car in GT2. :)

Sorry guys there will not be a car list showing up in any thread or post. I'm very sure that Jordan and his Team are watching very closely for anything that will fall into NA Sony's request. So if any thinks about doing that please don't, GT Planet has become an staple in the Gran Turismo World now. There's no need to do anything that will jeopardize that. Jordan and the guys have worked hard to get these Community to where is at today. As well to make the ties with Kazunori Yamauchi and Sony has been a hard long trail. I'm very proud to be apart of the GT Planet Community and I hope i will get to know a lot more of you.
I'm probably rehashing an old discussion here, but why would that be? We've already got people posting gameplay videos and track lists, why would a car list invite any more trouble?

Also, to the brave disc theif who is giving us all those videos, please tell us - how does the customization work, what's that paint icon in GT auto about, what's with the mysterious race car icon in GT Auto, and how long does the game take to install (I kid you not - I want to know about how much time I'll have to play the day my preorder copy arrives).

Didn't he imply there would be? "GT Awards car will be included in GT5"? I'll see if I can dig up that news article.

Sorry for dp but I just noticed this.

Ah, here it is:

https://www.gtplanet.net/your-car-in-gran-turismo-5-gt-awards-2010-call-for-entries/

This year, though, the official rules specifically state the winning car will be made available in Gran Turismo 5 (presumably via download), so hopefully we won’t have to wait too long to give it a spin.

Autoweek: So this year's winner is going to be in the next Gran Turismo installment, which I'm presuming will be Gran Turismo 6. It's probably too late for Gran Turismo 5, right?

K. Yamauchi: Right.

VGChartz: When asked about the racing games possible DLC, this is what he had to say:

K. Yamauchi: "Let me be clear on this. There is a massive amount of content in this game, I don't think there are many teams that can put as much into a game as we can."

K. Yamauchi: "The launch of the game isn't a start, we are releasing the full game."

Bah, so much for the offical rules then.

But he bent the realease date three of four times so this should be nothing big, right?

There goes any chance of getting more premium cars or extra tracks.

Of course, we may be able to convince the idiots in charge that using DLC could be advantageous, if we can get some numbers behind us. Someone needs to set up an official petition for DLC in GT5 and get buy-in from all the major GT forums. At the very least I want a livery editor patch (and time-based instead of laps-based online & arcade mode races if they're not there already), but hopefully more.

They said they watch forums, so we really have a chance to make a change here. I for one would be very willing to wait an extra year or two for GT6 if it meant regular updates to GT5, since GT5 would be basically perfect if it had more premiums and a livery editor.

Also, no one realeases a game as "a start". The DLCs are just there to make it better once it's up.

Well that is up to him. There are some huge gaps in the BMW and Ford line-ups (why do we still have E85 and E86 Z4s in the dealer as if they are new cars? Why no E89?) from what I have seen in the new menu videos.

If you have bothered to read though some of the post you’ll see that the situation at the moment is some what or very tense due to the leaked videos. Sony asked for them to be removed so Jordan and the team done just that. But we don’t know what else was said or asked of them. We all have questions on what we got a short look at and we have others as well on other areas of the game. There is a NEWS Post on the Track Editor which is nice. Though the rest we all will just have to wait and see. Plus as we all know we’ll need BOTH copies Gran Turismo 5 to get the COMPLETE car list. So the list that’s up now shows the cars we know are going to be in Gran Turismo 5 they're coming from the PSP version. What we don’t know are the cars that were added to Gran Turismo 5 besides a few for the PS3 version. So the list know is incomplete.
