The really awful vintage pastiche in Japan is a Mitsuoka Le Seyde. Yuck!

http://www.mitsuoka-motor.com/

If you look at the lines of the roof and the sides, you'll see it's based on an Nissan Silvia (S15). What a tragic waste!

Ah, thanks for confirming what it is, It always puzzled me.

I agree with you, it is a tragic waste.

hahaha ewww that car is GROSS lookin. you guys talkin about the MG remind something a friend told me once. said that MG is on a ford pinto chassi ? i dunno if that i tru but theres 10 cents from me on that. i don't think those cars will rust... just corrode.. if they get cleaned off within a few days of exposure the damage would be minimal. most undercarraiges are coated with some kind of vinyl crap anyway arent they ? like bmw sprays wax inside the body shells to keep them from rusting inside out. really REALLY sucks though. i wonder if there is a "water" option along with fire theft and glass  later-

I think the Le Seyde looks kinda neat.
On the same sort of topic, Excaliburs are based on fox body mustangs.

Which isn't a bad thing because so is my car! (T-Bird Turbo Coupe) :)
I agree though, it does look cool.
