Car maintenance

I change the oil on my cars after I've run a few races or my bobs did. I have not done an engine rebuild or a chassis rebuild yet on a car. I hardly ever wash them either.

You don't need to unless you bought a used car.

With new cars, You'd have to drive for eons to ever need to get your car washed, oil changed, engine overhauled, or chassis replaced.

Over time, the paint on your car will get dulled (but this is only noticeably when you driven a car for over 10 years). If you crash a lot, the paint will gradually chip and you'll need to repaint it to maintain a pretty look (even with the dents and scratches), that's why the game keeps giving you so much paint when you start up each day.

I change my oil after just about every race or series. I'm doing endurance races on B-spec, so an oil change is a must after one of those. I have done a couple of engine and chassis rebuilds, but as far as I can tell, its not really necessary unless you really want your car in tip top shape. I also frequently wash my cars, but that is mainly because I like to use photo mode.

Oil change and wash every 2-3 races, Engine and chassis every 3,000 miles. Probably not necessary to do that often, but I have plenty of money, and i like to keep my cars in top shape.

oil change every 10 races roughly,
engine overhaul every 100 races or so
chassis straightening... never have

I drove my first X2010 about 20,000 miles before giving it an engine and chassis overhaul today. I've changed the oil once per real calendar day. Should be at level 40 here soon so I can buy another one and keep that in tip-top shape. Then my original X2010 will become my $20,000,000 "beater" car.

I only use my Stealth/Chromeline cars grinding as you can do the engine rebuild and chassis rebuild for $500 each

Not true. I've done engine rebuilds on cars with ~3000 miles on them because oil changes wouldn't bring the car back up to normal power. After the rebuild power was back to normal.

every car i get either from new dealership or used dealership, i give an oil change and car wash. when you buy a brand new car watch the Hp and give it an oil change the Hp increases.

New cars I drive about 500km, or until the power doesn't increase after a race anymore. Then I change the oil and get the car to full power. I don't run them myself of course, that's what B-spec slaves are for :) As a side note, I think breaking in / oil change / engine rebuild etc. foolishness is an annoying and useless chore and I hope they'd get removed immediately.

My main grind/income is the Dream Car Championship in B-Spec, which I run with an X2010. I change oil after every championship. With other cars, I change oil when it looks filthy in GT-Auto screen, or when max power stars to lower.

I decreased the X2010's power to 1260hp (with power limiter), and it looks like the oil doesn't get nearly as filthy as it was when it was at full hp. Can anyone else confirm this or am I imagining things? Also, Bob doesn't smash into opponents that hard anymore. I limited the power because I got worried that a chassis restore would be necessary sooner. :nervous:
