Maybe its just me, but arnt they called decals?:odd:

 I'm sorry. I didn't realize that without putting the absolutely correct freakin' word in there made what I was talking about totally unclear.

DECALSZ.

Yeah. What you've done so far looks like your putting a good deal of work into it and your pretty good at it. It'll look awsome none the less.

Except for one thing......

You got the "cute" WRX. You need the aggressive one, like this style:

Haha, I just love showing off this picture.

I know! I like that style better, but hey, the lights look better than stock:D

True. I've actually seen some eyebrow things for the "cute" WRX that make it look more aggressive. I've always liked these black background ones too.

it didnt make it unclear, it just didnt sound right to me, geez, calm down.:odd:

I am calm. But I think you can change "stickers" and "decals" in your head without bringing it up.

I probably put a bigger than reaction needed, but whatever. Lets not get the padlock for this thread.

I tried putting together a Tamiya Ford Escort Cosworth Rally car once and it looked like crap when I painted it and tried to put it together. Am I supposed to paint the parts first, let it dry then glue them together? Am I supposed to use something like a sandpaper and sand of the ends that's supposed to be glued to another part? When gluing some pieces together do I have to keep those parts glued together with my hands because sometimes when I glue them together they just seem to fall apart and I have to glue them again and again. Yes I really do suck at these things, but I'm really interested in making my first scale model. Please help!

I recomend sanding the parts after they are dry if you are having problems sticking parts together, some types of paint cause the glue no to stick properly, I use water-based paints rather than enamel, which may help a bit, and with very small parts, I would just glue before painting if possible, hope that helps a bit:D and I defanetly recomend water-based paints, they dry completely in like 5 mins and then you can just use clear coat after that to givr it a nice shine!;) good luck:D

Im just woundering, how did you do the wear effect on the wheels, its just amazing.

for the brake dust i painted the rim with a bit of clear coat and sprinkled graphite powder, and for the tires I rubed on some gound up brown chalk pastel, then tubbed it off so it was just in the tread, then I used a fine file, and filed the tire a bit to create some wear:D

tamiya is always good, but pricey that is the only ones i usally go with, and I'm told that a curbeside kit is a model without the engine:D

For the future powripper, I use a drill and a rig that I made out of about $1.00 in hardware to get my tires to look right.

It's made with a bolt, two washers, and two nuts.

crappy schematic:

----Ol (tire) lO----

--- : bolt
O : nut
l : washer

Then just take some 1000 grit sandpaper. Or 400 for a rally style car that has more chunking. And slowly apply pressure with a small 2x4 on the surface of the tire, to make it look worn a little.

thanks for the idea! i might just try and build that, but for the time being I will stick to my trusty nail file:D

That looks really cool, i have built a few of the Tamiya ones...they are really basic compared to the ones here tho.

I feel so simple:(, for tire wear all Iv ever done, was just rub sand paper on them for about ten minutes.

In essence, that's basically what I'm doing. So you really aren't that simple. Chin up, bud. :D
