THIS THREAD LIVES AGAIN!!!
I thought I might do a little bit of an update, but I actually have had almost no time to work on it!! I have been so busy with school (its my last year in high school) but here is what I have done so far: I will be working on it more often now, because things have kinda calmed down since I started the new semester.

HERE IT IS:
here is the tranny, I actually have not painted it, but I like it like this, all I did was use some clear coat and graphite powder and it gives it this great metal look, what do you think? should I still paint it?

Looking good there powripper, but I have a couple of tips for you.

1. Don't set freshly painted products on a fibrous surface like wood, you'll get crap in the paint, try like a piece of plexiglass that's been dusted for good results.

2. Make sure to trim the mold lines on the sides of the plastic, see how you have thin lines pertruding from the sides, if you carefully cut them off, or sand off, before painting, it would look better.

But, I love the graphite paint, makes a nice touch.

And does anybody know where you can get replacement parts for out-of-production Revell-Monogram models? I've got a problem with the ZR-1's windows.

Thanks for any help...
If my memory serves me correctly, one day while surfing the net I came across a place on the Revell-monogram website, where you could order parts that were "missing" from your kit, you need the number of the part though, and your only alotted a certain number of parts a year

WOW all your detailed work on those parts is amazing! It's a shame half of the parts you detail wont be seen( at a passing glance)...unless your take it apart...

yeah, i know but i'm a perfectionist...so I cant do a half assed job on anything:lol: but I will spend most of the time on the parts you will see, like the rims, brakes, body and interior......but I also want the underside to look good as well:D

Alright, time for a bump...

Just finished building a Honda S2000. My first finished model in ages.

That is the best build-up I have seen in all my life...

I took hiatus to build model airplanes, but I may pull my Nissan R89C from the shelf again.

Thanks a lot! :)

I had forgotten how much fun it is to build.

I'd say get the R89C and start building!👍

I just got into Model car making.Made one Model car so far which is a GT90.Have a Cobra and 1960 Corvette in process.

My most recent model: 1/12th Scale '57 Bel Air 3 'n 1
I went with the Custom version, with the supercharger from the Drag version. Painted it in yellow with 3 coats, and painted the wheels to look like the flat-black Torq-Thrust's (even though they are Cragars). Used solder wire to make the fuel and brake lines, as well as hose clamps. I also shortened the mufflers (were twice as long stock) and made the exhaust exit in front of the rear wheels, while making some chrome tips from those corner nubs on the chrome parts tree. Oh, can't forget that I used rubber bands for engine belts! :sly:
