Yes GT6 had that function, but the hint system in GT7 is garbage because ...

@Trev4elvis you won't win that event if you get the Supra because the top competition is in Group C cars, ain't no way the Supra will ever be faster than them.
They are detuned Group C cars, you absolutely can win it in the Supra or Skyline, it's just harder, but I would recommend the Escudo or a Group C cars like the 787B or the C9.

It is the perfect example of scuffed design of legendary cars rotation. Recommending car that you can't buy right now 🤣
I find this a curious/ignorant from PD also. It's like they assume everyone has had the game since launch and has lived through every update and rotation of the dealerships....

So do i .

They are not unfortunately.
They're definitely de-tuned, the event is limted to 800p and a stock Group C car is closer to 900pp.

Sorry but where can I find how to change the AI settings .
If you mean the difficulty it's in the options menu from the main world map screen IIRC.

I can confirm they are not because i struggled when i vompleted with the C9. Take which ever Group C car you want, bring it down to the event limit and go to the race at Fuji. If you check the replay you will see that the AI has full power available, not to mention medium tyres.

Do you have a picture showing thier bhp and weight in these races?

I'm struggling to understand the logic of what you said, and it's probably just me not properly understanding what you mean. But I can win those races in a detuned Group C car fairly easilly, they're not the easiest races in the game, but they are far from the hardest.

If I can win in a detuned Group C car (which is the only way the player can enter in one) then that suggests they are also in detuned Group C cars doesn't it?

Also there's no evidence the AI breaks the event rules for pp limits that I'm aware of.

No , thats not possible sadly .

I can elaborate further tommorow if you have the patience as its quite late now. Thats why i suggested to enter the Fuji race and watch the replay after doing a faw laps. My C9 at 799.XX PP had like 30-40 Kp/h less top speed than the AI C9.

Sure, I'm very interested in your experience. Bear in mind though that there are many ways to detune a car, not all involve reducing the power. They could be limited mostly by hard tyres and ballast and have closer to stock bhp, which would cost them mostly in the corners but might not have as much bearing in a straight line once they hit the power bands.

If you think you're not that skilled, lower the AI difficultly.
This way you can have an easier time with races.
Then use any Group C car.
If you need to get a Group C car but dont have the money, do a few rounds of the WTC700 LeMans.
You can easily get 825,000cr in 30mins.
This way when one pops up in the LCD, you can quickly get it.
The S15 Gr4 which sells for 450,000cr can win it easy.
Things that are needed for the S15.
Mid-RPM Turbo, Hard Slicks, Inters, Wets, Full Racing Transmission, Fully customizable suspension

Set top speed to 330km/h or 210mph
When you start the race set fuel map to 6.
When you're about 300m away from the chicane on the back straight, lift off the throttle then apply brakes when about 175m from the turn.
I know it seems odd, but this way you can save fuel(a good skill to have) and then spend less time in the pit.
If you play your cards right you wont really need to refuel.
On this race, you normally get rain around laps 2-4
Normally you will have to pit for either wets or inters at this time, at the end of lap 5 pit for slicks and take care as the track is still a bit wet.
Fully fill up, set fuel map to 4 by the end of lap 6 the track should be dry enough and then you can do a flying lap by setting fuel map to 1

Here is a screen shot of my race.
Did it with 0 pitstops(Due to no rain) and I race with the AI set to hard.

I’m already on easiest AI difficulty, I most be really crap lol

Good day , i am aware of that and generally when im tuning cars i try to keep the weight as low as possible because it costs more time than having a bit less power, and you can see that from my setup. Before 1.25.

Note that i have the fully customisable manual gearbox installed, because the stock ratios are way too long and the custom racing gearbox would've raised the PP further. Also when the event was introduced a faw updates ago, i had quite a bit less ballast but i had to increase it to 200 during the first PP adjustment. Keeping i mind that i have 91 % power, i got to the Fuji race and the top speeds without slipstream were as follows:
Me 292 .

Now the difference may not seem that much with most cars, but keep in mind that this screenshot is one frame before the AI hits the brakes so look where they brake compare to me

If i brake where the AI does my top speed would of been 289. All things considered the question is, how are they de tuned and still have such an advantage, if i did more than what is usually done to go below 800 PP while having 91% power since they have even higher PP in stock form (except from the 962).

That's very interesting, have you tried testing with a car that has maximum power and more weight? I know that may be slower over a lap, but see what your speeds might be? That said, I don't see the difference being that big for just a 65bhp difference, but it's worth testing your theory.

Another theory is that it could be their weight is as low as possible meaning they can brake later, which means more time to hit a higher speed.

As for them having an advantage, they don't have an advantage over a full lap, so we're seeing higher top speeds on the straight but we can still beat them, including catchingup to p1 who starts a good 20 seconds if not more ahead. So they aren't running that fast whe you factor in the corners etc.

It's a shame we can't see thier setups, that would solve the conundrum right away.

I might do a quick test myself on Friday.

This would only be possible with the Escudo which i haven't tested to be honest.

I actually brake 100 or so meters later than the AI, but the point id the AI should have worse specs than us if they don't brake the PP limit .
but we can still beat them,
I can catch up to 6th then i struggle

Yes the Pennzoil is still there but 2.7 million is a risk if it isn’t good enough, that is why I was waiting for Supra (cafe recommendation) or Escudo.
The Supra and Skyline are essentially equal. Skyline is a little quicker around faster tracks, Supra is a little better in tighter technical tracks. Neither blows the other out of the water.

My advice would be to save a LOT of credits and just go to the New Car dealer and buy one of the dozens of Gr. 3 (same category as the Supra and Skyline in Legend dealership) for 450,000. They're all roughly equal in terms of performance, at least to the extent that any of them can be used to get a podium. Slap a turbo on if you're struggling. As a rule of thumb look for lighter cars for races where tire wear is turned on. For races where fuel consumption is on, make sure you use the d-pad to get to "fuel mapping". 1 is the most fuel consumed, 6 is the leanest. Using this feature makes cars viable that would otherwise need to pit for fuel every other lap.

I was a mid B driver at best in GT Sport and im usually from 4 to 6 seconds slower per lap compare to GTWS drivers and i had to reduce the front downforce a further 50 points which didn't help, but i find hard to beliave that im 3 seconds slower than the AI with the same restrictions . Not to mention the XJR-9 is on mediums .

For me, I just used a Group C (the Nissan 92CP), tuned down to 800pp, on hard tires. Started on fuel map 6 and increased power as long as the the thing said I had enough laps left, and never pitted (except on Red Bull Ring where it started pouring and I needed to swap to Intermediates).

For the neo classics I was waiting for the 787b but I found a nissan GT 500 Gr 3 car in legends from 99 and it was such a breeze on that. Funny thing it seem to make the ai many seconds slower whereas the balance and setup for that car was perfect for willow. I didn´t have to change a thing and all corners that was off camber on my old porsche and audi quattro was on camber now ;)
I won by 25 seconds not even pushing with fuel mapping at 2 the entire race. I could probably run at least a lap or two on mapping 1 but why complicate with such micro.
I did remember posting better lap times in my old porsche though so it may actually be faster but the ai using that is on dope.

I can’t get anywhere near winning with that car
Well done on that
