Car sharing bug? I lost my 512BB forever...

I went to gift my friend my Ferrari 512BB. I clicked on "Gift" and a window came up saying "Upload Failed." Ever since that I cannot find my car on any list. What the hell? Did I just lose it for ever?

something similar happened to me and my mate i had been looking out for a GTST skyline but had no luck so when he seen one he bough it and gifted it over but now neither of us seem to have it not sure what happened there :/

I gifted a mate my skyline with over 150k on mods spent and he got the failed message. turn your system off your net off then turn it all on, thats what he did then he finally got it and sent it back, I had no probs with it personally. but look around, and ask the person who it was directed.. or look in that place where you pick up your reward cars.

I tried to send a friend a kart (we wanted to trade because I wanted the color of his kart) on release date but i got the upload failed and the kart has dissapeared since. I just bought another one.

If this happens dashboard the game. It will not save the fact that it sent and you will return and have the car still...
Basically if you get this error. Hold the PS button on the controller and select quit game.

regarding car sharing, my brother tried one car to put it online.. I saw the car on the list but I don't know how to use it.. I'm not sure what car sharing really means.. is it for views only or really for use??

I don't think (putting a car online) is actually functioning right now. A couple of friends and I tried it every which way for over an hour the other night and there's simply no way to make it work that we could tell. I think the idea is you put one of your own cars online, which makes it unavailable to you for off-line use, and then in an online lounge, when your PSN friends go to select a car it should show up in your online tab. Presently, they don't. Hopefully after the next patch.

If you'll notice next time you are gifting a car, or any other item, as soon as it says 'upload successful' or 'upload complete' or whatever, it will autosave. However, if it says 'upload failed', the game WILL NOT AUTOSAVE. If you simply quit your game (do not gift anything else until after you quit, or it will autosave), your file will reload before you gifted the lost vehicle, and you can try it again. The fact that it doesn't autosave if the upload fails probably means PD knew this was happening, and prevented it from being permanent, IF YOU'RE SMART ABOUT IT.
